Hungry Hearts Diner: A Tale of Star-Crossed Souls for Android
I played the whole night to finish the game and it left such a warm feeling and valuable life lessons. It made me realize things I knew but forgot. The characters are so interesting and shockingly unexpected, in a good way. The background stories are well planned and written. And the best part is despite being so simple, the game is so addictive. And oh the graphic!! It's so cute and good!! Thank you for this amazing game. I even cried at the ending.. I don't think I will ever forget this game.. ヾ(*´∀`*)ノ
I have never thought I would like a mobile game as much as I have liked this. It is GORGEOUS in every sense of the word. I love the aesthetic and the fact it stays so true to history of showa era Japan. I would like to commend the creators for keeping it interesting with the descriptions of goods, the progress of unlocking things, as well as the unique and realistic stories. Much recommended for anyone. My only sole dislike would be that apart from frenzy customers are slow yo come yo the restaurant. Perhaps there should be some progression with how you unlock dishes customers come quicker.
For a game to make me weep..... But weep I did... Such a simple game and yet so heart warming. With developers trying to outdo each other with more and more grand graphics or game play...I forgot how simple a game can be and yet still so enjoyable.. The game is also fully free to play till completion.. Ads are well placed, not intrusive nor disruptive to game play.. Thank you developer... I truly appreciate and enjoy this beautiful game. Edit: looking forward to a sequel
Easy to play, and finishes a bit quicker than Showa Candy and Oden Cart. I loved the heart-warming stories and graphics, especially how cute all the food items are. I've finished the game but am keeping it on my phone for now so I can look at the pictures from time to time. Watching ads will help give you bonuses to finish the game faster.
I love this game. The premise is just as cute as the art itself. It's a simple and beautiful story. The gameplay was well balanced, and the ads weren't obstructive. I didn't find any issue with controls except maybe when the banners introducing a new item or a level up would block the screen during a frenzy. That said, and even though it was sadder than I initially thought it'd be, I'm definitely recommending this to my friends. The grandma character really affected me. Thank you, game designers.
A poignant and beautiful storyline. Not once was I frustrated with the direction it was going, only that I wished it lasted longer. It was a lot of fun mixing cooking and friendship in one game not to mention the adorable animation and touching music a lot like nostalgia. Going through the messages and tapoing did lag a but though and wasn't as responsive as I'd like but didn't detract from the story quality overall. Loved this game from the bottom of my heart.
I'm crying. That was such a beautiful story. As the tales we're being unlocked, much like the other wonderful games from this company, you're able to foreshadow certain outcomes. Very nice game, wonderful idle play and can be completed for free with a little patience. It's nice that there's options to pay for a small boost, but it's not mandatory and the game will not allow you to purchase more than necessary. Unlike a lot of "free to play, pay to win" games out there. Thank you for making these wonderful games! I always recommend them to my friends because they're so enjoyable <3
A fun little game. I liked the selection of foods available, and the game play is enjoyable. The story and characters are adorable and refreshing simple without being dull. The only reason I give it 4 stars is that the conversations can happen too quickly. I went through several within one in game day which felt a little rushed to me. It would have helped pace the story better.
Never thought I'd get attached to the characters in a game. Kudos to the developers. I wish there were more levels though or more upgrades. I purchased an item that speeds up energy and now I wish I hadn't because it just helped me finish the game faster. I guess the bottom line of the game is to play slow and savour every moment. Thank you for the lovely gaming experience! <3
Thanks for such a beautiful and warming game. I played oden cart and didn't like it so I was skeptical at first. Glad I gave it a shot. The music, art, character designs, etc are great but the stories and how they unfold make this game special. In the end, I came to love each and every one of my customer (apart from those first two who were just there to eat). And boy did I cry... Love you grandma and grandpa!
Delicious graphics like Showa Candy Shop and such! This game isn't too difficult or time consuming to achieve much, neither is it those I finish in a day or so, well spread out. The music isn't a silly jingle that becomes an earworm I'll turn off, suits the game, relaxing and calming; good game to wind down the day. The stories, transporting me into this beautiful universe, makes me genuinely care about each character and yet view them like lessons learned in books, also makes me wish I was a granny and owned a shop like this! Mmph, can't sing enough praises! Beautiful game through and through, all the way til the end. Thanks for this beautiful, warm game. <3
This is a surprisingly cute game. Unlike other food-based games, there's no rush. Your customers will eat what you prepare, no questions asked. But if you prepare their favorite meals, they'll reveal their personal histories to you. It's worth playing until the end. I got a little watery-eyed, actually. Good story. Sassy Grandma who truly cares for her customers and her family. Fun characters, some with shockingly profound backstories. Plus, the ads are optional, short, and rewarding. You can get frenzy mode to fill up your diner, energy refills, or money. I highly recommend Hungry Hearts for people looking for a relaxing game with hidden depths.
This is the best game I have ever played. Is the kind of game I could play for hours straight. It relaxes me and I simply love the stories of the characters. From my experience games like this don't have background stories like this particular game, and this is why I love it so much. And the art and graphics are the cutest I've seen so far, for me it's just beauty for the eye. I strongly recommend this game even just to try.
This is the simplest, relaxing, heart warming, and the best idle management game I've ever played. I love the storyline, and all the impressions the game gave me. There's two things that I like about this game, it doesn't take much battery when you play and it does give you some coins everytime the ads popped up, even when you didn't choose to watch the ads! Keep it up! The storyline's sad for me though'-') why does it have to end so fast???? Or maybe a new sequel will be good????????
This is so heart warming. The story line is just impeccable! You don't see games like this these days. I really loved everything about it. The ending made me cry but with a hint of happiness. The creators know how to touch readers' soft spots. They covered sensitive areas in our lives that we wished to make everything alright again. I really enjoyed this. I just want to thank the creators for their hard work in this game. I felt the homey feels. I recommend you go try it out for yourselves. You won't regret it!
i know, i'm not much a gamer, my friend would laugh at me if they see me playing this. BUT ITS JUST SOOOOO CUTE. Each character's story was so interesting, and heart warming. The food's visuals was just so yummy. And i got so teary eyed when i found out grandpa and grandma's story. Its a simple game, but it was nice. Though I only finished it in just two days, I wish there could've been more, but I was satisfied. With the plot, the objective, the graphic, with everything.
Very sweet game!! In normal food prep games if you don't feed the customer right away they'll grow impatient and leave. Here you can view other things like upgrades etc, to make without fear of your customers disappearing on you! But that is not to say this game doesn't have its challenges. Learning WHAT to upgrade in time is important! Very slick, very perfect! ????
This game is amazing. It tells players about Japanese cuisine, and the game itself is gorgeous. Almost all the characters in the game have a personality, a wish, a backstory, and favorite food. It's as if every character is a person. Even the protagonist, Grandma, has a story of her own with her husband. The purpose of the game is not to unlock every upgrade or every food; Upgrades are optional. The purpose of the game is not to unlock upgrades, but conversations with the beloved characters. Yes, talk. With every interaction you get with the game, you reveal stories that you can relate to. I recommend this game to anyone.
I didn't think I'd tear up from a free game. I'm surprised how well written the characters are. They're not sugar-coated and have some real life problems to them. The gameplay itself is addicting, like most simulation games. It's so touching. Its a great short game I'm sure people will enjoy the various aspects of life this game plays.
I've never played a game in my phone which touched my heart so much. I downloaded the game thinking it will be a simple restaurant management game with a few generic conversations. How wrong I was! Each and every conversation lead to a beautiful (or sad) story of the lives of the customers. The struggles of everyday life of the customers were captured brilliantly in a conversational manner. The main story is beautifully written. We get a taste of Japanese cuisine and culture in this game. All in all a 5 star experience.
I really loved the simplicity of the game. It reflected the simplicity of a rice ball ❤ the game is really relaxing & rewarding. I've almost completed the story & couldn't help but notice, after everyone's tanabata wishes, they never came back. It made me sad. But all in all, it's one of the best games I've played in the app store. Please add on to this game, or make a sequel ! ????❤
I love this game! The characters are so cute, and they bring the characters to life with their beautiful backstory, tales, and troubles. Its so addicting. There is a variety of food, and it is easy to get the hang of playing it. You never get bored of it. The best part is that it doesn't require internet or wifi to play, so I can play it whenever I want. What I wish to improve is for more upgrades in the shop, and more counter space to make more dishes. I also want more customers coming in, and more dialogue. Also more characters would be nice. If that is resolved, I would rate it 5 stars. Other than that, I would recommend this to everyone who loves a good tale and a cozy restaurant in the great Japan.
It is indeed very addictive games I've played. You want to have completed rice, entrées and sides menu so you can have more variety and availables food to serve. Then there are customers that you want to satisfy their needs of food and their faves which is truly satisfying when you accomplished everything. Moreover, the amount of energy can be regained in a very short of time. Don't have to wait for another day to play this game which I really likes about that. So far, this game does really helps to fill your time in boring days but truly affecting my priority to other works that should had be done before playing this game ????
Such a beautiful game. Got me completely hooked for a whole day. It would be nice if the player is given certain goals to accomplish each time. In this way we can be kept fixated on continuing the game. Else, after purchasing all the upgrades there's not much left to do. Nonetheless, I enjoyed playing.
Indeed a very heart warming game, thank you sharing us the story of these lovely characters, this game will stuck with me forever. I always loved Japanese food as well the culture, this game inspire me to pursue my dream of building the restaurant I always wanted! Hope you won't mind if I sorta have your diner layout because it really inspires me! Thank you for creating such a wonderful game.
I love it. I love the story. I love everything about it! Even the bugs, the wall.hax.exe when customers exit the shop and that one guy who was just there(pretending to eat nothing and he didn't even pay). I guess the ending became clearer as the time goes by. That silly monk tho took me a while to figure out who he really is. Thank you, game devs!
This game was so incredibly good. The characters' stories were creative and heartfelt. They didn't feel cheesy or lazily written. I felt like I really knew every character. The gameplay was simple but required just enough thought and work to unlock new characters' stories that it was still entertaining, and it kept the pacing right so that you didn't go through the stories too quickly. (I also really loved the Granny animations, whether she was cooking or snoozing or cheerily drinking her tea. They made me happy.) 11/10 wonderful game <3
I usually hate idle games but I always hope for the best when I start one. This was exactly what I've been looking for for years. It's short but has a strong sweet story. It also doesn't rely on the story too much and I never felt like I was forced to play it. All in all, it's one of my favourite mobile games that I have ever had on any of my phones. I'm hoping for another.
Having played oden cart and Showa Candy, I was expecting something similar and heartwarming. Hungry hearts surpassed my expectations. The food combinations gave us chance to interact more with the game, while still being simple and interesting. Perfect idle game. I was able to introduce my mother to the game without difficulty, and she loves it, too. Ads were very much optional, and the characters has such depth and personality conveyed through just short dialogues. A+ for art and music. Loved everything, thank you for your amazing game.
What started out as a cute, relaxing little cooking game ended up in me trying to hold back the tears at the ending .. the sound track was nice and relaxing , the graphics were so adorable.. and it kept me absorbed in all the stories till the end ! seriously one of the best games ive ever played. The only thing is that there are very few options for upgrades..
I love it! I just finished the game and... it really made me cry. Each character has a back story which explains who they are noe and it's just so heartwarming to see how you get to bond with the characters through grandma. I also love the pace of the game. It really requires patience but it's relaxing and peaceful even if you have to grind for money to upgrade. I love this game so much <3 Thank you grandma and grandpa :)
This is a really, really great game! It has interesting and quite realistic conversations (not only the sweet talk) and it's very personal as you get to know the clients and try to learn and cook their favorite food so you can have more conversations and help them in life. I love this aspect of many Japanese games and movies, very touching and you learn how to better interact with people. That's the main reason this game is no rush, but all the fun! And also the food - Japanese cuisine in cute little form, it's just "awww"!
Sorry I can't write a proper review through the tears streaming down my face... But know that this game has one of the most heartfelt story I've read, and told so beautifully too. Seriously, play it and you'll slowly grow to love the characters and their stories. Take care Grandma :')
Very fun and easy to play. The story is very well done and keeps you wanting for more. Each character is well put together. Within one conversation a certain criminal element became my favorite. The only thing i can say against it is i ranout of things to purchase very early on and the stories were over all too soon.
The only bad thing about this game is that it is too short!!! Everything shows great care in details, I love the variety of Japanese dishes that doesn't stay among ramen or sushi, and the description is neat too. The game gives a very relaxing, warm fuzzy feeling and perfect for this time of the year. Thank you for making such a wonderful game, you just gained a new fan!
I really loved this game. Didnt have to spend money to speed it up. It was very well paced with charming characters, compelling stories, and adorable art. If u all ever make a full fleded pc or console game count me in! Id love something with more time to fall in love with the world and more involved gameplay.
Amazing. I'm only maybe... Halfway through the game, but the stories are intriguing. It's fun trying to unlock new dishes and try to figure out what unlocks something one of the customes crave. Its also so creative that there are different days in the week, and certain customers come on certain days. I can't wait to see that heartfelt ending that everybody is talking about!! 100/10 Edit: ... I... Need... Tissues... The ending... It was so sad... I'm redownloading it again just so I can play through it a second time... Overall *sniff* it was an amazing game... Time to have a sob session again after I get to the ending again... Amazing, and... 99999999999999999999999/10
I never write reviews for games, but this one is just so heartwarming, I had to say something. It's a nice little casual game, easy to pick-up for 5 or 10 minutes and put back down again. Game play is quite simple and will feel very repetitive, if you play for long stretches of time. The real pay-off is in the stories and character development that unlock as you play. Each one is sweet, funny, and very human. I found the soft, friendly graphic design to be a good compliment for the stories as well. All in all, a very well put together game. If you're like me, you're in for some laughs and maybe a few tears, too. Give it a try.
I never thought I'd be eager to finish a game in just 6 hours. I love playing it especially when going through the story. It was so sad yet sates my hunger for more stories. I love it and I wouldn't mind playing a second version. I was hoping for more characters to meet but the customers and their stories along with grandma, made me satisfied. I pray for you more success. God Bless!

i never actually finished showa candy shop or oden cart but finishing this game sparked up my interest yet again! (not so) short but sweet. i loved it, and i was constantly waiting for their individual stories to unfold. i was so captivated-- and i wasn't expecting the ending at all that it made my eyes water. half of me wanted more customers to come but keeping it short also had its charm. thank you for a wonderful game! i hope there's a sequel, or prequel to this!
