Las charapas (tortuga de ríos, que viven en la amazonia), son animales inofensivos que dejan sus huevos en la playa, esperando que al nacer sus crías puedan llegar sanas y salvas al río y así perdurar la especie.
Un grupo de estos animalitos han nacido en una playa en la reserva natural del Pacaya Samiria, estos están contentos y se disponen a llegar al río para continuar con el ciclo de su vida, sin imaginar que un despiadado Gavilán llegaría con un grupo de Libélulas y se llevaría a cuanta Charapita pudiera, quizá para devorarlas.
Un grupo de charapitas sobrevivientes han decidido ir en busca de sus hermanas capturadas las cuales se encuentran dispersas por la selva amazónica.
