Colorful Language

Simply speak the name of the color you see to build up your own personal color profile. The more colors you identify, the more accurate your profile will be. Once you have some results take a screenshot and share them! #ColorfulLanguage

Inspired by the World Color Survey, an anthropological study conducted in the 1970s on the relationship between language and color. Field workers surveyed 2696 native speakers, representing 110 unwritten languages, and came out with some interesting results. Speakers from some languages collectively only used three words to describe the entire color spectrum, which might be considered the equivalent of the English interpretation for “black", “white”, and “red”.
