Color Wheel Guessing Game for Android
In the training levels things will begin easy with primary colors – like red, green and blue from RGB or cyan, magenta and yellow from CMYK, together with some achromatic shades like white and gray. Everyone can tell the difference between red and green, unless you are color blind. Then this app will probably not be so much fun for you, but you can still use it as a color blindness test.
In the later stages of the game things will gradually become more difficult. Some tints will be easy to guess by their names – like for example salmon, rosewood, saffron or fern. Then there are those hues like rackley, peridot, heliotrope and gainsboro, which you probably did not know existed.
In the free play mode you will be shown three random dyes and a name. You will have to guess which of the three pigments corresponds to the name. For every correctly guessed shade you will get 100 points and the game will continue with three new hues and a new name. Most of the time it will be easy to eliminate some of the answers – obviously denim is not a shade of pink for example. Yet sometimes things will become extremely difficult. Can you tell apart brownish earth pigments like ochre or sienna from cinnamon or mahogany? Chartreuse, malachite, viridian, myrtle and jade are all shades of green with different hue and saturation and you might have hard time to correctly guess which dye is which if two of those tints come up at the same time. In those cases you can use the bonus points from the training levels to eliminate one of the three dyes, making your guess much easier.
This game draws the quiz questions from a colour palette of more than hundred tints and hues, making sure that you will not get bored quickly!
