About Conquest of Elysium 3

Conquest of Elysium 3 (CoE3) is a streamlined turn based fantasy
strategy game with a touch of rogue-like and the complex undertones of
the Dominions series that is also developed by Illwinter Game
Design. While CoE3 appears to be a simple game with limited options at
first glance, delving further into the game reveals a game of complex
decision making and risky endeavors.

The main focus in CoE3 is that each race plays differently. We're not
talking about a unique building and unique unit, we're talking about
completely differently, with different mechanics and different
goals. Perhaps you're playing a druid, focused on amassing a vast
forest and jungle empire from which to harvest ingredients to summon
creatures of the woods with no practical need to conquer mines, or
perhaps a dwarf, who's only concern are mines and produce units at a
set rate every turn and focus almost entirely on upgrading those units
to survive as long as possible, since they are so difficult to
replace. With 18 different factions that alone is enough to keep your
play dynamic as you vie for control of the map to conquer
Elysium. That isn't where it ends, however, there are 6 scenarios in
which your game takes place that will help randomize the map. These
scenarios range from a the early days of an agrarian world to a giant
gleaming capital, which you can conquer, that spawns patrols of human
guards, to a fallen empire filled with the living dead and scarred by
battlefields and tombs. There's also random events to contend with,
from merchants to pillage to the very gates of the underworld opening
portals to your realm, your hands will be full before you even make
contact with the enemy.

In each game the objective is to defeat your enemies by relying on the
strengths of your chosen race. Combat in CoE3 is automatic to keep
things streamlined, but that doesn't make it non-strategic. Each unit
has a desired "location" it wants to be in the battlefield. Archers
want to be in the rear, heavy infantry want to be in front. As you can
imagine, putting together an army that has enough strength to protect
the powerful archers and spell casters in the rear is vital. It goes
beyond that though, as you must determine your enemy's strengths and
hopefully be able to counter their strategy. An army of a mere 10
trolls is extremely dangerous, perhaps able to bring down a dragon,
but they can only kill 10 creatures at once. An army of 50 small units
will make short work of your trolls. However, an army with a wizard
able to cast high level spell may completely destroy all 50 small
units in one shot but would be unable to harm 10 trolls. Determining
the strength and composition of an enemy army is a vital skill, and
since hitting in combat, damage, and even the very spells that will be
cast are randomized based on the abilities of each unit, every battle
invites potential disaster and a change of plans.

Features:
* Assassins that make an assassination attack before combat starts.
* Catapults, Hill Giants and Rocs that can throw or drop boulders during sieges.
* Immortal Liches and Vampires.
* Regenerating trolls rise from the dead if they haven't been killed too badly or their side lost.
* Large worms that can swallow smaller enemies whole. Swallowed units take a few points of damage from digestion each round until they are freed.
* Shape changers that looks like something else when seen by the enemies.
* And many many more monsters and abilites....
* Random maps
* Random events, good and bad
* 18 different classes
* Spell system with 42 magic paths
* Hotseat gameplay (multiple players on the same tablet)
* Team play, you can be 2 players against the AI for example.
* Made for tablets. A screen size of at least a 7 inch is recommended

Important: While it is possible to play this game on a standard phone, you really need a large screen to be able to play it comfortably. A 7 inch screen or larger is recommended.

The game works great, the price compaired to the pc version is great, no complaints. The game works very well on a tablet with only small complaint the lack of documentation for the controls. Let's hope we see no4 on mobile also!

Just the right amount of depth, not too much micromanagement. The control scheme ports over well; I was worried when I read a review saying that you couldn't see unit details and such, but it seems to have been mistaken. Maybe the author didn't try to press and hold where he would have right-clicked on PC? I encountered a few ui bugs; sometimes switching to the home screen and back would fix it, but other times I had to close the app without a chance to save first. Thankfully, the game autosaves frequently.

I wish more mobile apps were as comprehensive and engaging as this. I love the PC version as well. Keep it up!

I have alot of time in on both pc and android and the game works fine, just dont zoom out in the biggest map when you have discovered most of it, its slightly laggy, i wish there was multiplyer enabled or coe4 to come to Android i would love to defeat my friends with the hoeburgs.

It's... It's incredible! It's like Risk and Civilization had a kid who DMs an AD&D campaign based on early 20th century pulp fiction. If the phrase "hobbits and Aztecs battling with Roman legions allied with Lovecraftian terrors skirmishing with undead hordes clashing with a menagerie of giant bears and ants, while a warlock watches from a volcano" sounds appealing to you: buy this! Well worth the price! It makes the other "strategy" games on here look like jokes and children's toys. Even the customer service was prompt and friendly. Seriously guys, this game has blown my mind.

Game might be great for PC, but this port is terrible. Tons of controls are missing. You can not overview your units outside of battle. It's lagging on my nexus 5 to the point that you can't really zoom out. I think, extreme CPU usage is the reason, why my battery dies so quickly.

J70%

This is one of these very rare but great strategy games on Android. I don't have the pc version so I don't feel anything is missing regarding controls. Any chance CoE 4 is coming to Android too?

The graphics on this game would have been poor for my 1990 Amiga however the game makes up for this major shortfall by have addictive and immersive game play. Plus another request for Dominion 4

Update has fixed the issue with the galaxy tab s. Very well put together strategy game, a few niggles and the graphics may not be everyone's cup of tea but has great replayability with the different leaders and the fact they have to be played oin a differnet way

However I understand that coe 4 came out and I was wondering if it will be coming to android at any point of time

This game is a pretty good concept but there are a lot of ways it could be improved. All races should have ability to raise levies for example. Also one really big issue is that the AI opponent's are stupid and don't really pose a real challenge.

I have been playing it on PC for a while and now enjoying on android. It is a really deep and smart strategy game. True gem for those who understand that enjoyable gameplay doesn't depend on high end graphics. Playing different characters gives you completely different experience. Try it and you won't regret.

I'm very much enjoying this game. As noted in the description a small screen isn't ideal, but I'm not having any issues on my M8. Definitely recommended!

After purchasing this game I let it gather digital dust without much of a real play through. I recently decided to venture further and give it a solid chance. This game is perfection and I'm addicted. Illwinter now has another loyal fanatic and I'm looking forward to future releases. From what I hear they are far and between sadly :( Do yourself a favor and get this game!

After staring at this for a week because of the price, I'm kicking myself now for not getting it sooner, reminds me a lot of heros of might and magic but way more in depth, I keep finding more and more in the game. If you like board games any of the Sid Meyer games or turn based strategy this is a must have

Badly designed paid app (US$10) with poor graphics and game play (from 80s) that is completely unsuitable for smartphone small screens - avoid. This would be a bad app if free let alone a Paid app

The game is great, like most players say but there is one annoyance, when the army starts to get large, I cannot scroll the screen like you can in the computer version, if you could adress then that would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Good but needs updating. .. worked very well with older device but now with new galaxy s 8 it resizes the screen vary small and moves slow ....odd ?

This game is awesome. There are tons of races! They all play differently and offer various amounts of challenge depending on who you pick. There is a lot of discovery to be had. I personally liked the voice of el. The more seals you open causes to occur. I only got through the first four. I recommend this game. It is well worth the money.

Everything is spot on from the great PC version. However, even on a 7 inch tablet things are unplayably small, especially battles. A resolution change would help a lot. I can only recommend it for larger than 7 inch tablets at the moment.

While I do find the price tag rather expensive, CoE delivers in content and strategy. Plays a lot like Civ games with a board game style twist. This is my first experience playing Illwinter games and I'm thoroughly impressed with the depth here. I've recommended this to friends who aren't impressed with the price tag even after I explain how fun it is. That's my only complaint.

W70%

This is a great game for any portable device in my opinion. It's just the right amount of depth as well as pace. The graphics might fool you at first but believe me they're truly brilliant considering everything is lovingly hand drawn and fit the scheme of the game perfectly. I've been playing dominions 4 a lot and this is a nice way to satisfy that urge to conquer and vanquish when you're not near a computer. Great bite sized 4X absolutely worth every penny.

I bought this game and had the terribly bad idea of not trying it out right away. It crashes whenever I end a turn (and sometimes when I browse the menus), so I cannot play, despite my device being listed as "compatible" (I have a stock Galaxy S4). I submitted reports and contacted the editor directly 2 weeks ago, asking what I could do, I'm still waiting for an answer.
