RegEx Reptiles is a fun puzzle game designed to intuitively teach regular expressions, a powerful encoding system for describing text. Test your brain and see if you have what it takes to work at a reptile shop. Included with the game is a reference tool, which provides both a dictionary of regular expression symbols and full testing of any custom regular expressions and strings.
This app was designed by Celia Abernathy and Reed Coke as part of a software engineering course at Swarthmore College. All artwork associated with the game was done by Rose Abernathy. Fun storyline. Nice level buildup. An hour or two of gameplay to complete all levels. I would love to see free play mode and other mini games as well. Some known issues are errors appearing after finishing levels, so you have to redo them. Finishing level 6 didn't unlock 7. Regex rule explanation sometimes experiences cut off. Snake movement animation can cause epileptic seizure

Love the concept! The game gradually builds up understanding of regex syntax, makes it fun and has an element of suspense as a bonus. Has quite a number of bugs though. Crashes frequently. Level 6 seems not to be working at all. Still, highly enjoyable

I had high hopes for this game. It is glitchy and hard to use. I tried to like it, I used it every day for two weeks, it's just too glitchy for me to rate it higher.
