Mobile C64 for Android
Junk
Get it bought. Oh it's free - even better
A real blast from the past. Program works well. Still trying to figure out the save function.
Fair program
not bad so far.
Clunky menu. Annoying to have to unpause manually all the time. Takes forever to scan for games/images and can't manually choose game location. None of the games I tried worked (Giana, Krakout).
Why can't I load c64 images already have on my tablet? I can only find the option to load from the web or use the built in files. What's with the four fake drives?Wouldn't it be simpler to just allow the user to access the devices file system to select images as is done in Frodo?I tried out the free version and I would have purchased the full version, but this thing is a complete load of rubbish.
Truely an awesome experience on one of the best computers of the 1980s. For those who can not afford the new C64X, I will recommend this awesome app. 5 out of 5.
Keyboard input good. Joystick good. Plays Sword of Fargoal with save state. Only wish it could stay in background longer like "My Boy! Free" (that parks on notification bar to keep OS from killing it). Requests... Want turbo mode. Hide joystick option has no effect. Want Vic20 version.
Good game, but: Slow No sound Graphics do not appear correctly Not all built in games work Downloadable games are laggy Some downloadable games don't open at all But apart from that, good on Nexus 7
Good usable emulator. Maybe keyboard should have function keys on first page. Auto directory search should be optional. If you have hundreds of files could be hard to find.
Park Patrol, and Zack McKraken FTW!
It's a good C64 emulator but it needs a soft F1 key in the menu at the top of the screen (beside 'Autostart'). Many C64 games require you to press 'F1' to start and if you're using this on an Android stick like I am, there's no way to toggle the keyboard. Adding F1 to the top of the screen would make this emulator a lot more useful. It also needs to support .CRT cartridge files.
It will bring up the games but none of them work right even after following instructions to the letter
Long as I keep comin up on my Forbidden Forest and Elite, its cool.
How do you use it
If you still miss C64...
Thanks
Hours and hours of fun
For a 4.1 version
It suddenly started running VERY slow. It would be nice if it ran at full C64 speed, but considering its on a phone. Still, the sudden slowness has now made it really useless. Suggestion... Make the on-screen joystick appear below the display. Who ever used their C64 with the joystick suctioned onto the tv screen? Not me.
This emulator is slow even on a s5 phone games do not run well with sound enabled eg kikstart II
Far too slow and jerky. Many games do not work at all. No sound.
Sound doesn't play in the games I've tried. Bit, this program has come on leaps and bounds. Its now a very polished product. Joystick and keyboard work well, and games play really nice. Many many thanks for making this program.
Would have given 5 stars if it wasnt for the joystick covering the screen apart from that its brilliant
Runs soon slow
My kids cannot understand how 8 bit games are so good.
Hours spent getting high scores in hunchback now re-lived. To jump or not to jump!
No extra files to download just Roms only
A lot of these either the emulators aren't as simple.
doesnt play games i download
Works well on my note 2
What a awsome perfomance
None of the pre-installed and other tested games ran at the normal speed on a 1 GHz Android 4.1 device. Everything works at about half speed including the breaking sound. Even the colours do not resemble the original C64 palette. It spends too much system resources to display ads instead of emulating a 1000 times slower CPU. A good thing - it sees games stored on an external SD card, but instead of letting the user to select the location, it searches the whole device memory.
This was the fastest running c64 emu I could find. I suggest a seprate app to browse c64 games to download
Only the preloaded games work. Nothing you search for and download will go past the intro.
Brilliant. Easy to use takes me back to my youth!
Speak for yourselves. I'm glad to know what Commodore64 was like.

Nostalgicly good, like the game search option.
