About Camel Up

"Camel Up" is the digital version of the "Spiel des Jahres 2014" (board game of the year) in Germany.

Witness the craziest camel race of all time, as things really go topsy-turvy when camels stack up and entire pyramids turn upside down. As members of Egyptian high society, you gather in the desert with one simple goal: to gain the most money by backing the right camel to win a leg or even the entire race. However, in this race, it’s not just the lucky ones who can beat the odds. Reading the dynamics of the race and having a good sense of timing is just as important when it comes to backing the right camels and taking the victory.

"Camel Up" is a simple, quick, and outrageously exciting family game that can be enjoyed by up to 8 players.

✔ Highly detailed graphics
✔ Easy start into the game
✔ Single player mode
✔ Exciting multiplayer mode for up to 8 players
✔ Computer opponents in 3 difficulty levels
✔ Local leaderboard

Love the board game however the app has some flaws... the biggest have to be that annoying red "X" on the top right. It's so easy to accidentally press it and bam your game is done.... especially when trying to play with someone else 85% of the time you can't even finish the game cuz someone accidentally presses it. Not even an "are you sure" promt.

Saw high praises for the game so thought I'd give it a shot. Bought it, went to try to get a tutorial but nope, can't select it. Come to the reviews and what do I see, someone complaining about it 1.5 YEARS AGO! Are you kidding me? You say you have a bug but can't fix it in over a year and a half??? Clearly the company does not give two craps about anyone who bought this game and since I can't get a tutorial on it, I will be expecting a full refund.

It's difficult to get into the game if you haven't played it before, since there is no tutorial and the instructions don't really tell you about the game mechanics. Too bad, because the game itself is nice.

N70%
by N####:

The core game runs flawlessly, but the instructions are sparse and the tutorial is greyed out. (coming soon?) Also there's no way to turn off the music or sound FX during a game and existing to change these settings resets your game, no continuations.

Nice implementation, but I would love to see some improvements: - Tutorial has to be accessible - The rules are incomplete in the app, you have to look it up elsewhere - Rename players (the highscore does not make sense without) - Global highscore (e.g. via google play services) - Online multiplayer

Just bought the card game last night. Really enjoyed being able to choose which cards to take out of the game. Cant do this on the app. Kind of takes away the strategy aspecf. Plus not as many choices around how to bet. Eg for the win

It's not at all what I'd have hoped for. I have the board game plus the super cup expansion, but this just didn't feel like any if them. The board is very small, the AI goes so fast you don't know what they have done (because again the writing that tells you what they just done is so small). I don't need the tutorial, but it would be nice to have for new players.

This should not be a paid app at this point. It is not finished. Instructions are incomplete, no tutorial, ai is one dimensional.

STILL no tutorial or option to continue after promising this for months. Very disappointing.

im enjoying this game, i would expect some digital only addition as is longer races etc though - in short: lot of potential here

Paid for the game but couldn't access the tutorial and didn't fully understand it from the instructions alone.

Played this at PAX AUS 2016 and now loving the app!!!

Love Camel Up, one of the best board games out there! Just wondering whether you will implement the expansion board to the mobile game in the future? And also able to go around the board more than just once? It's interesting to see how the computer plays the game, completely different to my mates

I can understand people being frustrated with an app they paid for, that seems to have unfinished features (the tutorial) and incomplete instuctions. On the other hand, I appreciate games that DON'T include everything but the kitchen sink & expect me to use 300+ megs of my phone's main memory. Android-only gamers: this is a replica of an award-winning tabletop game and worth learning. Just look up the reviews on YouTube.

I have the boardgame and really like it large groups, I also have the expansion which adds alot to the base game. My main complaint with this app is no AI. This could easily be a 5 star game if you added the expansion and an AI. The graphics are very nice IMO.

My tutorial doesn't work. Cleared data and cache yet nothing. Might not be so bad if rules were as in depth as the real life game which can be found online.

The game is fun and cool but no multiplayer . Interface is average but I cannot open the tutorial. Please fix it. I recommend to add extension Camel supercup to in app purchase in this game.

Online play against others would make this even greater

N70%
by N####:

Fun game and well implemented. Instructions are missing, as others have mentioned, but the rules are available online. Look them up. It's worth it!

A70%
by A####:

Fairly sure they are meant to stay on the board until the end unless the player removes them? Unless I've been playing wrong

N70%
by N####:

Great fun, easy to play and bug free.

V70%
by V####:

Fun game and beautiful implementation. A couple of problems--there is a tutorial button but no tutorial and the rules are very cursory and seem abbreviated. What do oasis and desert tiles do? There is no clear explanation. How do I bet on overall winner or loser? When I tap the cards, they go down...does that mean I've picked them?

N70%

This should not be a paid app at this point. It is not finished. Instructions are incomplete, no tutorial, ai is one dimensional.

L70%
by L####:

Great game, very quick to play and identical to the board game.

K70%
by K####:

Great adaptation of the board game, plays fast and is a lot of fun. I'm glad you can play with multiple people on a single device

N70%
by N####:

I had to go online to find it how to play as even the rulebook doesn't state certain things, like what Oasis and Wasteland do.

N70%
by N####:

If a game does not have a tutorial ready.. It shouldn't be released.. Especially when it is for sale.. If the game were free.. I can understand it being released as the developer is working on things.. But this is unacceptable

R70%
by R####:

Unclear rules, no tutorial, can't save a game. Hope these missing features will be implemented soon.

A new version with tutorial and some other enhancements will follow soon.
