Chessimo – Train, Check, Play

Used chessimo on the pc many years ago so didn't even think about trying the android app before purchasing all the modules...updating the review since I've seen an update come through. Training still stalls on tactics unit 1 exercise 60, the right answer Re8 doesn't cause the program to advance. Hitting the solution button gives the answer in German..... But it's still stuck. Sadly this is still buggy

The idea is pretty good and the format is addictive, but I can't find the comments on the strategies. Kinda pointless to guess the best move from a beginner's point of view without any feedback on the reasons. The web version shows the comments, so something must be missing from the interface on the android version.

Some lessons have comments or explanations, but the great majority does not. What kind of training is that where they don't explain what needs to be done, what's the objective, and why some other ways are not better... otherwise, it looks beautiful... Please, add the commentaries or explanations or objective for each move in the training section... As it is now, LICHESS is "worlds apart" way better, absolutely free with no adds, open source, it has training (no explanation though), etc.

Great training method, the exercises are very practical and have improved awareness in my game. It is a little buggy on my Sony and I would prefer double tap control rather than drag and drop to move though. Beside that, I love it

The content is good, but there are a few things that seriously need to be improved. First of all, developers, why doesn't chessimo sync between devices. As a user I shouldn't even have to ask this question. Secondly the chess board on my Nexus 6p phone actually looks larger in portrait (landscape is not allowed) than on my Nexus 7 tablet in landscape (portrait is not allowed)! Thirdly, I used to have this app on my iPhone, which showed helpful comments in the strategy training. Why are there no comments in the Android version??

As someone who used the PC program years ago, some of the solutions are wrong. Purchased all modules. Doesn't register all of them. Program is broken. Don't purchase

1) APP IS FULL OF BUGS: almost every second unit gets stalled. (In my case for example units 3,4,9,13,16,18,20 of strategy) 2) APP CANT BE ACCESSED AT ALL TIMES: I have bought Full version but it still frequently asks me to buy the whole version and hence I am not able to use the app AT ALL. 3) WORST PART: I have written to the developer many times through email but they have failed to respond even once and are not accessible, unresponsive and disinterested in solving customer's grievances.

Bought the full version but only can use tactics. The rest not working. Please fix it. I am using Android. Samsung.------------------------------------------------------7/9/2016 still waiting but no reply. Please refund

Often buggy on my Samsung edge. Usually I can restart the game to make it work, but at present there seems no way forward at "commented endgames" -> Unit 2 -> game 18

Now I hate chessimo as the quiz is hanging and developer is not solving. Everything stopped.

Buggy as hell. The strategy section wont let me progress further. I want a refund.

I have gradually increased my review from 2 to 4 stars. The interface is improved but there are a couple of places the game gets stuck. You can manually advance it though, so it is still playable. I have upgraded it to 4 stars because the content is actually quite good. There a lots of positions, with a lot of repeats - that emphasize clear thinking. Its a surprisingly effective form of practice. Position after position emphasizing a clear plan. After a while it starts to sink in.

I have purchased all modules package. But, no other modules run on my 'SAMSUNG GT-N7000 Note one' handset android 4.1.2 (except the tactics module only). All modules run fine (but, lot of bugs are there, example: Strategy module 3 does not work etc.) in my tab. please take care! If these problems are fixed it will get the five star !!

Great puzzles but Board too small. I have 7 inch tablet. Please give options to increase board size.

I have a web-based chessimo account that I can't sign into. I have changed my password and it still doesn't work. I have followed the suggestion of support below many times without any success.

Can't use my email and only 3 units free??? Also did anyone test the board styles? Terrible!

The pieces are not centered on the squares. I tried two different tablets same problem (one is a nine inches and one 11 inches) the 9 inches has problems also in moving the pieces. It's like the board is a different graphic piece from the chess pieces. I don't like to write a negative review, but for 13.75$ I do expect a better product. Is there any way to get the money back?

Stopped at Tactics Modal 1 Unit 27 Exercise 14/90. Since 4/4/2016 no update yet. Dont buy until this fixed.

Now it has the right pieces. Now I can read comments in English. Good job CHESSIMO. With this and the CT art app we have everything on Android we need for good tactics training. 2 approaches I love them both.

My original review was 2 stars because pieces were hard to distinguish. That issue is now fixed. I give only 3 stars now because the app stops and won't advance during the training. There is potential to be a good app here, but not yet.

Strategy commentary blocks the board making it difficult to benefit from the advice. Some modules won't advance past the first problem. I regret paying for the full version.

Full of bugs, desperately requires an update, no response from the developer team

Some solutions are wrong with wrong cell names. Secondly, while playing on the mobile and training for strategy, the comments after strategy cover the board so it's impossible to see the board and make meaning out of the comments. Please fix.

Can't get the link to register to work, puzzle 60 doesn't register the correct solution, it tries to play from blacks side after checkmate. On puzzle 60 if you ask for the solution to try and unstick the program, it does give you the right solution Re8 but in German! And it still sticks. No way I can see to get a refund either. Avoid for now sadly

Poorly done, it is not like to the PC version.

1. Allow fullscreen 2. Hide board coordinates to make way for bigger board. 3. Better piece and Board design. (currently ugly). cheers!!

The interface is in English but all the comments are in German. I have selected English in the configuration of my profile in the website. Please fix ASAP. Also please add more chessboard and figure sets.
