What are users saying about Alhambra Game

W70%
by W####:

Interface is unintuitive and confusing. Online player base is non-existent, probably due to the poor design.

K70%
by K####:

I don't know what I'm doing wrong and the game doesn't offer any assistance. Selecting money is hard, and once I've managed to buy the building dragging it to the map accomplishes nothing, available spaces will not highlight and the building won't attach. Very frustrating.

K70%
by K####:

I hesitated before buying this due to the negative reviews, but glad I did as most of the complaints are unfounded. For example lots of people have said that it's hard to see and select your cards when you have lots of them but they are wrong, you simply hold your finger on them and they expand so its easy. I've had no trouble playing this and really enjoy it.

T70%
by T####:

The numbers on the building cards are not clear. I enjoy the game but get tired of holding my device just so in order to see the cost of the building.

B70%
by B####:

I enjoy the game but find the touch screen selecting really fussy when you're trying to select currency. If you have a lot of cards it is almost impossible to select the correct cards to purchase items which is extremely frustrating.

K70%
by K####:

Was working fine after buying it, but now it crashes every time I try to start a game. Multiplayer works, but you have to figure it out for yourself. The documentation for this doesn't seem to exist. Speaking as someone who owns the board game, I'm very disappointed in the Android version.

K70%
by K####:

So got this for multi-player but can't create an account. Keeps saying name and password has to be 3-30 characters when it is.

E70%
by E####:

The AI provides a good challenge. Very good UI. The developer continues to update even after the game has been out for quite awhile, which is unusual in a good way.

K70%
by K####:

The game plays single player fine, but it refuses to let me register for online play. No matter what combination I do, it just keeps telling me my online name and password must be between 3 and 30 characters (even when they both already are).

K70%
by K####:

The game crashes nearly every time my family tries to play it.

F70%
by F####:

Decent port of a classic board game. AI is no slouch.

K70%
by K####:

Seems like a good game, but it crashes Everytime it runs.

K70%
by K####:

We need MORE boardgame apps!! Please!

K70%
by K####:

Excellent port

H70%
by H####:

The worst thing about the previous version were the fact you need to be connected to download assets every. single. time. and the tricky card selection interface. However, this update has caused it to be unusable altogether. Each time I start a game it crashes without fail. It begins to load the play screen and closes. Very disappointing

K70%
by K####:

But I have to take another star off. I really this game but it's full of bugs. Every so often my screen goes black and my money disapears, making the frame unplayable, and it's the only game where my touchscreen seems weirdly unrrsponsive.

D70%
by D####:

I can't move this app to my SD card. It's stuck on my phone, taking up a lot of the limited space on my phone. With all the apps and all the data that I want to install, there's not enough space on the phone. I need to be able to move it to the SD card.

E70%
by E####:

The base game is fantastic, but I've found that the expansions have added less than I expected to the gameplay. The overall layout is very clear, though when you have more than 7 or 8 cards in hand they become difficult to see and select. Other than that, I have two complaints. First, the AI seems to freeze periodically when playing with the currency exchange extension. Second, there is no good way to consult the rules in the middle of a game. Oh, and a way to save games would be nice.

Y70%
by Y####:

Alhambra is one of my favourite board games. The app does a passable version of the game once you get used the the user interface. Big issue is no save or resume on a game. UX is hard to understand the first time you play. After you get it it works reasonably well.

M70%
by M####:

Took me awhile to figure out how to do everything, and I've played the tabletop game. The layout is confusing, and the win/lose message plus "play again" is so tiny I didnt even see it at first and thought the game froze. All in all once you figure it out it is fun, but it really could use some help from a mobile user experience & design team.

D70%
by D####:

First off, anyone saying that this game would be better if you could rotate tiles has obviously never played Alhambra. The interface could use updating.

J70%
by J####:

Please add this game to family library. Also for whatever reason you can only play this game when connected to WiFi (mobile network won't work), which doesn't make any sense when you play with a computer.

U70%
by U####:

I like the game, but not being able to save a game is a complete deal breaker for me. Fix it and I will play again (and perhaps purchase expansions!)

K70%
by K####:

Can't play. Keep getting a "Resources failed to download" error.

D70%
by D####:

Awesome game! Looks boring but its a good game for the brain.

D70%
by D####:

Took ages to figure out how to set up a profile as the register button was greyed out until a mystery tick was clicked, then it was impossible to create or see any online games after an initial 'connection to the network' was followed on the next screen with 'no network connection'. A truly awful implementation and completely unintuitive development of a game I love in real life. Dreadful.

X70%
by X####:

Great to get reacquainted with this game. Where are the expansions though??

D70%
by D####:

Got the game and tried to play it on a Note 4. Every tile and button were minute, had to use the stylus with some success. It was very frustrating, even though the game engine followed the rules to the letter. Playable, but with lots of swear words. But that was then. The layout of the new upgrade is way better. No need for a stylus. Well done devs.

D70%
by D####:

The cards can get small and difficult to see. It doesn't appear that you can save a game, so you have to finish it in one go. I don't see any expansions. The AI seem "lucky" more than skillful.

D70%
by D####:

Game works and plays very well. It is a bit tough to play on a phone screen. People who complain about not being able to rotate tiles are thinking carcassonne not alhambra, where you were never able to do that. Where are all of the great expansions? I would pay to play them

D70%
by D####:

I can play it again after the game has problem in previous version. I think the game is fun. it's easy to play but hard to win and it's can replayable, not boring and many bugs have fixed. I give 5*.

D70%

Not working. Crashes when opening the app.

H70%

Good job guys all working now!

D70%
by D####:

Its a great game and fun to play, but crashes on start up after the last update. Please fix - Nexus 6P

N70%
by N####:

Wouldn't update so did a reinstall. Now it won't even open. Did originally ask if we would be seeing digital versions of the extensions but I guess priority is to have a stable base game before we invest in extras!

A70%
by A####:

Please fix it

D70%
by D####:

The details, however... The main issue, as has been pointed out, is that the interface is often too small and cumbersome, even on a ten-inch tablet. Have a lot of money in your deck? Good luck making an accurate selection. Lots of wasted potential here, sadly. Still, it's alright if you like the board game.

D70%
by D####:

Alhambra is immensely fun, and this game obviously reflects that. However, the UI is very difficult. Nearly all elements are too small to accurately tap, even on large phablets. I'd pass unless you have a tablet

D70%
by D####:

Rules aren't accessible within the app, no key to colour code, thus no easy way to check how many points each building is worth
