Gladius

Gladius is a real-time combat game where you take on the role of a gladiator and fight opponents in The Pit for fame, wealth, power and glory! It has that sweet-tasting Dungeons & Dragons RPG flavor that we all know and love. Defeat your opponents. Get your reward. Level up. Get better gear. Do it all again. Yeah, it's that good.

REAL TIME COMBAT ...
Leave turn-based combat to your dim-witted half-cousin. This is real-time, tactical combat. Movement, weapon choice, range, health and stamina all make a difference in each battle!

... WITH PAUSE
But you can pause the game at any time - perfect for gamers on the go! Games are automatically saved so you can pick up where you left off at any time.

ONLINE AND OFFLINE MODES
You can play either online with an internet connection, or offline ... erm, without one. Your progress is automagically synchronized with the server when you next get online. Great for those boring subway rides!

THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE
Compete against other players on the global leaderboard and try to be ranked the number 1 gladiator in the world!

CHOOSE YOUR FACE
Customize your character's appearance - hundreds of different combinations are possible.

PvP and PvE
Fight real human players or computer generated enemies - you choose your style of play.

There are heaps of weapons, armor, shields and gear to choose from. As you level up and grow in power and wealth you get access to more and more gear!

Gladius is currently in open beta, so please contact me directly before leaving a negative review and I will do my best to fix your problem directly. There are frequent updates planned during the beta period, and I am committed to listening to your feedback to try and make Gladius the best combat game possible.

Known issues:
- Tested on 800x480 resolution phone screens only. May not scale correctly on devices with different resolutions. We are currently working on screen scaling and a tablet version.
- May run slower than you'd like on older devices (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S1 era hardware), but should still run!
- May crash more often than you'd prefer on earlier Android versions (mainly below v4) but your progress should be saved so you can restart and continue.

Gladius has great depth, enormous replay value and complex strategies that you can use to crush your enemies, see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentation of their women. Oh, and you can compete with other players to get ranked the number 1 gladiator in the world!

Please remember that I am the 'little guy', not 'the man'. I'm an indie developer as opposed to the faceless, nameless corporate entity with bags of cash to throw at its vanilla games. I listen to your feedback and will do my best to incorporate your suggestions into my games. I am really passionate about making games and I want players to enjoy them, so it'd be really great if you supported me so that I can fully develop Gladius and make more cool games.
