Word Fireworks: Learn Japanese for Android
As others have pointed out, the UI is a little too on the cluttered side, which sometimes gets in the way of the experience. However, I still highly recommend it as a useful learning aid.
Helps me write, especially when I use my stylus. My only problem is that sometimes the images are too bright and it is hard to see.
This has been the best experience with trying to learn Japanese, it helps you get a grasp of the spoke and written aspects of the language, and a pretty addicting game.
So far a good game. I wish there was a little bit more time between questions, especially for absolute beginners. I still highly recommend it.
This app is a life saver, it helped me learn Japanese when my teacher didn't help much.
TEH application to learn read and write hiragana and katakana. Using it for over 2 years, still perfect!
Really drills the stuff into your mind, but in a fun and easy way. I love it!
Fun, simple and intuitive gameplay make for a great learning experience.
Probably the most fun I've had learning a language in a while. It makes the difficult part (rote memorization) an enjoyable game, with GREAT polish, and fun even on its own.. would probably play it even if it weren't about learning a language. Admittedly, for the Mac version, would be nice to have a way to type out instead of what it has now, which is honestly built specifically for touchscreens and especially styluses. The unlock ables add another great incentive to keep up your japanese practice.
There is just one thing I need to add. Sometimes the firework is too bright I cannot see the words well. May be you can have an option to reduce the effect a little. Nonetheless, the app is a great way to learn the vocabulary with joy and fun. This is what we call play and learn. Keep up the great work folks. Thank you so much for the app
The game is very well designed. Clever and fun ways of practicing what they teach. The only bad thing about it is that sometimes the UI is clustered and you can't diferentiate foreground play with the background, so you'll not pay the attention you should in some things that are happening but didn't called your attention.
Good but i suggest the instructions dont disappear so quickly. Beginners need and want to read slow to make are we fullt understand and absorb the content. But the instructions disappear way to fast. I would suggest keeping them on screen untill we tap the screen to make then fade away, or you can implement a next button. Or "are you finished reading" button. This goes for the korean and Japanese version of this game
I really loved this app to help study my Japanese, but was extremely disappointed when I wasn't able to sync my progress on my new phone. Please sort this issue guys...
Wondering if all the Bangs and flashes will become annoying at some point
I wish you could replace the image of the person with a character or mascot. It's disturbing to see the person's real image your using.
A couple changes would make this a 5 star app. When the avatar is introducing new letters or explaining something at the beginning of a new level, it would be nice if the screen only started when the user is ready. This may be an issue specific to my device, I'm using a droid turbo 2, but either way that would be a great addition. Also, if there were an in app area to actually view the alphabet for review without having to play the game, it would make learning a lot easier. Other than that, the app is great
So far interesting, visually nice with mini games that are interesting. Very good so far in learning the letters of the kana. Haven't tried vocabulary yet though.
I love this app. I finished the hiragana training and am glad I get to run it again from the beginig (got a new phone and progress didn't carry over). It's great for learning Japanese and the short training sessions make it easy to get used to. Definitely recommend highly
The feedback you get from answering correctly is so satisfying. Well designed and intuitive, I'd recommend this to anyone who needs to practice their kana and kanji. I'd love to see an expansion with even more advanced kanji and grammar. Well worth the price.
Helps me write, especially when I use my stylus. My only problem is that sometimes the images are too bright and it is hard to see.
This app is really good for learning it's kinda fun and helps you think quickly (my issue was translating slowly this app helped a lot). Only issue I feel the writing is too strict. Other then that awesome app loads of fun
Working really well. Does a good job of working in past lessons into current ones to make sure you don't lose what you already learned. Learned Hiragana in less than a week.
This has been the best experience with trying to learn Japanese, it helps you get a grasp of the spoke and written aspects of the language, and a pretty addicting game.
Got this my phone , now on my tablet . awesome app... hope you do other languages, Russian - Korean and Chinese I'll do later
This is a wonderful program, and as well as teaching Japanese characters, the sheer excitement increases your heartrate also. Just remember to breathe!
I really struggle with hiragana. Turning it into a game helps no end with my memory!
The style used to teach japanese characters makes you want to keep playing and learning more and more.
Never seen a better way to learn Japanese writing.
I've learned to recognize and pronounce 7 characters in a few minutes.
Some of game mechanism stills a bit odds. But I have to admit this has the potential and refined.
I've played this on ios and bought it on my new Android. Love it.
Only small problem is prompts and instructions blocking the play
I've only been able to use it for about a day but I like it so far.
Can't say enough good things
It helps you learn Japanese fairly quickly by lots of reinforcement
Best 2 bucks I've spent in awhile
It really does
Fun, simple and intuitive gameplay make for a great learning experience.
I like it, it helps me learn more.
