Fun and free with very solid game design. Only real issue is that there's no end game. Once you're a legendary band of asskickers the combat gets real easy, and once you've explored the whole map there's really nothing else to do except repeat escort and execution missions. Still, a great way to waste a few hours, and apparently there's more to come. Will definitely keep an eye on this.

Exactly what the title said and my rating for this game. I would recommend this game to anyone. This game has great rough elements and there is no xp system. I just wish you can hire more companions and the ability to assign the extra 3 companions to finish off quests or collect the reward. And there would be a chance of failure depending on their classes and backgrounds and the route to the destination

There's a good skeleton of a game here, but it needs a lot more content so that it's not the same quests and encounters over and over. It needs an end goal. The original Rogue had you searching for the Amulet of Yendor. Also, some of those forest encounter maps are BS, you're trapped in single file and can't reposition, leading to TPK.

Enjoyed the gameplay and artwork. Very reminiscent of old PC games I used to play. The combat is a lot of fun, even though it is simple. I'd like to see more variety in the missions at the higher levels, like finding tougher enemies (like the dire wolves) and finding cooler equipment. Looking forward to the next update. EDIT: I would pay $$ for additional content for this game. The fact that the game is free right now is awesome.

Reminded me of the good-old Sid Meier's Pirates II. The difference is that this one is turn-based (which is great for mobile strategies I think) and action happens on land, not sea. Great atmosphere, nice gameplay, addictive. No annoying in-app payments to progress in the game. Would definitely pay for the game. Great job!

This is a great strategy RPG. It isn't mindless like clicker games, but it's still easy to put down and come back to if you're hurting for time. My only real complaint is that there is no real endgame. I'd like to see what happens if you could retire an adventuring company and start a new game as the inheritor or offspring of your old character.

M70%
by M####:

The game is fun, simple and intuitive whose real difficulty derives from the initial inability of your units to stay still in a defensive position. Still, unlock the ability for your units to hold their ground, and the game becomes laughably easy. Honestly, begin the game as 'The mysterious stranger', the palace guard, and mercenary captain. MC can wait from the get go. Beat the arena, and now the palace guard can too. Go to northmost town, get armor and bow upgrade. You cannot lose.

This game hits all the right notes right from the beginning! I love the customization. Moving around is easy and simple. My only issue is that the gameplay seems very limited to the same kind of quest. If there was more variety in the gameplay I would rate this five stars! The skeleton is there, and the developer is working on more content.

I've been looking for a semi "realistic" RPG with non linear gameplay and a non fantasy theme. This game is a ton of fun, challenging, and in depth with all the quests. My only gripe is that there is no music. I also wish the map was bigger. But fun nonetheless.

This is one of the best RPG I've played on mobile! Simplicity and a smart GUI is the key! I gave 4*to graphics which could have been done with more details for the environment elements, but I know the difficulty of pixel art... That would have taken more time for developing it. Great game! 5*

K70%
by K####:

The swordsman is absolutely underwhelming to the point of making a duo man at arms and archer combo overpowered. The waiting mechanic is also a bit annoying. There needs to be so much more combat and some sort of progression mechanics. When any of my troops die, I just sigh and say "there goes another 300 gold" and move on. Simply underwhelming.

No special permissions? It would be a pleasure to try you game. Simple and straightforward game play? Check. Delightfully on point with what was presented? Check. A bit of tedium but I mean I've played for like 15 minutes. Could be a lot more. I'll go find out while you keep reading.

I loved the unique "no leveling" system the game has. It really puts an emphasis on exploring the world and the rogue like combat was super easy to learn and is easy 90% of the time, but its that 10% that will really screw you over. Once I found out you could explore beyond the map given (to the left) the game really opened up to me, although I didn't get far before dying to savages it really put a terrifying adventure mechanic into the game. Love it, I'm looking forward to more developments in the future!

R70%
by R####:

Not much to it beyond that, not a ton of staying power. Combat is simple enough to be picked up quickly, but not complex enough to remain interesting over multiple play throughs. Quests seem endless, and also force too much back tracking.

L70%
by L####:

I really liked where simplicity met adventure here. Not so simple that you felt the theme didn't matter. I'd love to see more advancement in the combat system. Do you update? I've only had it a few days.

T70%
by T####:

It's a fun little rpg but one you upgrade you characters there's not much to do. Battles are pretty easy at that point and it only takes 600 gold to do it. So once you accumulate about 1000 gold you will have bought and upgraded everything and then there's not much else to do. Devs say there's more to come so I'm looking forward to what's next

T70%
by T####:

I love tactical RPGs like this! The battle system is fun and interesting - it takes some planning to succeed. Moreover, there are no advertisements, and this game is completely free. The artwork is also fantastic. With things as amazing as they already are, I'm excited for future updates.

by R####:

A super promising and already fun beginning--I look forward to what the dev has in store. I like that there isn't really "grinding" (other than for money) or "stats". It's nice to just have to get upgrades and beat more complicated enemies. The writing and art are great and the skills of each character are really interesting and add a lot to the game. Tricky to survive at first. After you get the hang of it, the quests become routine, but the combat itself doesn't, so I'm still having fun. Great!

R70%
by R####:

This has a lot of potential. The game dynamics resemble Darklands from the 1990s and works fluidly. But the absence of levels for heroes, equipment, and just more things to do generally hold the game back. Once those elements are added, this game will be very good.

S70%
by S####:

I don't want to be impatient, but, maybe I missed the update? (And I know this is a one-man deal so no rush or anything) *EDIT* Yea so I'm beginning to wonder if the developer is actually going to change what he said he would change. I'm wondering if he was just lying to keep me happy. It has been months and months. The stars are dropping.

R70%
by R####:

The combat rules are Terrible. To Stay In One Place Without Attacking Is Something That Screws Me over. And when my party dies, I have to restart from the very beginning. Grind and grind again, and again. This feature only lengthens gameplay. Unless some of this was tweaked and edited, I would not recommend this to anyone.

R70%
by R####:

Exciting and mind blowing. Simple yet very interesting how will you gonna survive to finish this rpg. Challenging in terms of having a single life to venture in a vast map, ambush, and surprised attacks are trembling while out numbered. So far so Good. I hope I survive and complete tasks and finish the game.

Overall this game feels like a complete piece of work, and I look forward to future development. The pros are that graphics and of presentation of dialogs and player choices feel and are very much like older R.P.G's like Dark lands. The turnbased system and hex based movement are wonderfull and easy to use, and in the overworld map random events and character history and class add fun roll play and practical mechanics. the down side of the game is that it sofar lacks a developed stat and equipmant system.

I have an hour commute to work each way and this game is a great way to fill the time. Awesome throwback to old school roguelikes! I wouldn't mind some more quest variety or character development, but for a one-man labor of love this game is great. By far my favorite free mobile game to date. Looking forward to any updates or sequels! I never leave reviews and registered on g+ just to leave one for this game!

*Edited* I haven't really played this type of rpg before. One where there is no leveling mechanics, and you can on progress your characters once, through a one time weapon/ability upgrade. I had some close calls, but never lost a man. I might have made really good choices with my party in the beginning by chance, but it just wasn't very hard to win any battle, no matter the odds. Still I was having fun. Great for a work in progress. Keep building on it!

It's no Witcher 3, but for what it is, it's a fun role playing game with some interesting text options. I loved it and I think I completed it?? That's the only thing, I became a legend amongst the land...But was that it? I visited everywhere, even those mysterious ruins. Maybe some prompts or more hints as to what else I should be doing. Like a courier telling me to go do major things after I hit legend fame maybe?

Z70%
by Z####:

This game has lots of potential. I can't wait for the major update and I'll keep the app. I love this text based rpg, it has a simple yet strategic concept. I'm hoping for lots more! Oh, by the way, maybe for the fencer, he could buy enchanced swords from the blacksmith that allows him to choose whether to go straight through an enemy when he kills him/it *Edit* Nvm lol, I just realized how to use the fencer. x3

One of the best mobile games I have ever played. Many mobile RPGs struggle with complexity and controls but Adventurer League hits the nail on the head. Fun and engaging! The main caveat is the lack of content. There are endless repeatable predictable quests; escort man to that place, fight rebels in this place. I give it 5 stars all the same because the foundation it built is amazing and I see a very bright future with additional content.

I am absolutely loving the base model of this game. The mechanics are clean and simple, yet deep and difficult to master. The character development lends a great sense of accomplishment for giving your adventurers long and fruitful career. Please continue to work on this title, it deserves it and has infinite potential. Thank you for sharing this gem, few others find what this classic hits home. *Raises a glass to those fallen to the mighty challenges in thier path*

I discovered Adventurer League through an App Store recommendation, and couldn't be more happy with it. It's a rogue-like where you control a party. You have the main world map and a tactical screen for battles. The controls are simple to learn and base mechanics are strong. It's a work in progress, so after you hit a high level of fame there's nothing much more to do. But the process there is very, very fun. This is what mobile games should be - fast to load, simple to learn, pick up and drop in a second. You can grab it for a quick play while waiting, or just to pass the time.

X70%
by X####:

This game is already very fun and I look forward to its growth. One suggestion, the risk/reward on the fencer type character is not even and he could benefit from some attention. Perhaps an upgrade allowing him to move after attacking?

X70%
by X####:

I love this bit-style RPG. Even without the map I still find the adventure, I scouted the entire place and remembered the towns and monasteries. I'm also looking forward to the expansion of the game (making the map larger = more adventure and fun :D ). I managed to understand the use of different traits of other classes and created some decent combinations (Trial and error till succeeds). I will rate this at max (5-stars) when this game is finished. Me still hungry and thirsty for adventure!

X70%
by X####:

I'd like to see a story mode added in. I also believe that there should be a wide variety of classes. Some classes that you could add in: Mages, Beast Tamers, and Warriors. ( Two handed weapons ) Also I'd like to see the player start with one character and have to gain characters through certain events, adding a bigger party count would be pleasing as well. Tamed animals for both sides of the field, wider variety of enemies, more upgrade abilities and many more features that can potentially make this better

Has very understandable controls. The gameplay is very engaging. The customisation options are abundant. If you haven't downloaded the game yet, give it a try. Those preview pictures just can't fathom as to how good this game really is. However, it does get a bit repetitive overtime. Nonetheless, no adventure is the same.

Unless i hate them. I made an exception in this case. Usually i download a game, play a bit, and delete it. This game captured my attention and engaged me, i have no specific needs for where the game will go in the future, and i am enjoying it thuroughly. Thank you.

This game is actually free: as in no cost, no ads, no in-app purchases, no permissions required. Getting something for nothing is always good, but when it's a decent game too, it gets 5 stars from me! They describe it as "Rogue-like", but it reminds me more of Sid Meyer's Pirates... just on land. You won't die as often as in a typical Rogue-like game, but it's permadeath, so keep that in mind. The game loads quickly, and you can quit any time and pick up exactly where you were, even mid battle, so it's great to pick up for a quick play while you wait for the bus or something. Battles are turn-based strategy on a hex grid with 3 types of player characters, and enemy characters with similar moves. Seems like it will develop more in time, but it's a great start. More mission types and character development would be good improvements in future updates.

X70%
by X####:

Its free and it has dynamic strategic combat. You can even close it and come back to it when you want. The only thing i would change is progession in the game to have bigger groups for bigger battles. Every backround does something different and certain party members have quests to discover.

S70%
by S####:

A nice retro-like rpg with a turn based game style, such addictive and simple gameplay. The permadeath makes it even more challenging. Please give more character improvements and new storyline to make the game even better!

X70%
by X####:

Adventurer League is hard to put down. I'm a sucker for random encounters/loot/events in games so this game has been consuming a lot of the time I spend on my mobile. Can't wait to see what improvements are made to it!

X70%
by X####:

The combat mechanics are similar to that of Hoplite. Great game, very engaging and quite challenging. However, some more content, new places to explore, new enemies and a larger number of side quests would be appreciated. Also, every class should have accessories that can be upgraded.
