Slay for Android
I played this ages ago and rediscovered kit via the Antiyoy - this is tougher. Hard levels take me multiple attempts to win and very hard levels are just frightening. It's been years since an update and it could do with some more user options, but this is definitely worth the money.
Such an original and compelling strategy game. It isn't easy but not impossible. Challenges the mind quite a bit, like playing chess and risk combined, but that description doesn't really do it justice. Well done! EDIT: Please, please add new Very Hard maps, or add a Random Map feature.
iOS version is much better. Here, difficulty is tied to the map and the AI is not nearly as challenging. Somehow the graphics are worse? Tooltips are super annoying at the beginning of the round and can't be turned off. Overall, feels like a cheap, rushed port. Too bad, because Slay is a great game.
Honestly, this is an awesome game. I enjoy playing it frequently to relax. Even after owning it for a while I still come back to maps I've not won or to beat my best score. I do wish it was like the iOS version where I can change the difficulty on each map. Anyways, try the game, it's still great fun.
When you've spent a number of hours playing, most of the easy and very easy are beatable.. but there are the odd scenes that are close to impossible! Very frustrating as I don't like to be thwarted.
Impossible levels. If on the first play all u have is a few hex and trees, and the enemy has land the size of Africa, then the map is a fail, was randomly generated but never actually tested. Maps should be verified playable
Are you feeling lucky, punk? If this game will run on your system it's a really outstanding game. Loved it. But - it stopped working on my previous smartphone (Note 3). I suspended judgement as I'd installed a custom ROM. But it won't run on my unmodified Moto G 2+ either so sorry I feel I need to say something. Last update was over 3 years ago so I doubt there will ever be a fix. Shame.
One of my all-time favourites. I have been playing it on PCs for ten years but as it does not work on Win8 I am now largely limited to my Android devices. My daughter fell in love with it when she was 7 and has been playing it since. I still have access to a Win7 machine where I can play my custom maps - it would be nice to have this facility on the Android version too. Thanks Mr O'Connor for an excellent game of which I will never tire.
Found after play antiyoy a slay clone. This one is nice but needs real time troop cost and income while playing the bored. I find my self over spending and I don't want to play unless updated. Also lack of map editor a nice touch antiyoy has. Will 5 star with updates. Good game happy to pay but needs to be finished
Fantastic game that depends solely on skill, not on luck. Previous versions had some minor issues when exiting game (not saving/forgetting your history) but they seem pretty ironed out now. Well worth the time and money.
Slay has been a part of my life for many many years. Love this game and is always the game I come back to, over and over again. One suggestion that I may suggest is to have the ability to make your own maps on the phone application. I can not even count how many times I have passed all the levels. Would like the option to be creative. Thank you for the greatest game EVER!
Was so happy to see this for Android! I played many years ago on a Windows phone but didn't know it had been ported to Android. Well worth the money if you want a simple to learn but difficult to master strategy game. I just hope he's planning on bringing "Mother of All Battles" to Android soon! I'd pay for that too!!
I love this game but help! I've run out of islands! Please can you supply more maps (very very hard?) or perhaps make it possible to play the other players on the existing islands.
Initially had a problem with the game actually loading...would open and then shut down straight away, which seems to have sorted itself out. Now the turns it took for me to win keep disappearing...which is massively annoying... would give a 5* rating because this game is brilliant.
I remember playing this game years ago, and I'm talking years. It's absolutely amazing. Plenty of levels, interesting concept... No game has transitioned to mobile so well. Get it. You won't regret it.
I first bought this game about 15 years ago for windows 95. It's one of my all time favourite games. I was gutted when my old version wouldn't work on windows 7. I was overjoyed to find it on android. I'd give it six stars if I could.
Played this game for so many hours. Please bring Android the rest of your games! Specifically Critical Mass, Mother of, and firefight.
Somehow the zoom (Ghete hexagons get tiny on bigger maps) makes it difficult to play, but you can slide the map.
Decent strategy game, with minor issues of not being able to always find what moves are available on large maps. Wiuld be better if nen who csnt move are completed automatically, and very hard levels shiuld be renamed impossibly hard levels..
Use to play this on windows 95. Love this game, highly addictive. Runs clean and fast on android. Hey Sean this would be epic if it were multiplayer with friends. . Just saying. .
I have played this game for about 15 years on many different platforms, and I never get tired of it. Well worth the money. I do wish it would get some of the updates from the windows version
I have been playing this game ever since i was in middle school. I have it on my desktop right now. I am not giving 5 stars because i do not get to pick my own color, the colors of the other players or how many people i can play against. 2 This version doest let me do that. Sometimes all i want is 1 opponent. Its not the same game. I dont even get to choose a human opponent. I really LOVED the other version. This one makes me miss it even more
I go through periods of playing it incessantly and not at all. It is a great game made better by touch. Better on a bigger screen, but pinch to zoom works.
Perfectly executed UI and gameplay. Tons of maps to play. With proper marketting, the game can become a really huge thing. The potential is there.
Sean, so glad you got this over from pc version. This is way better then risk. Ive always loved slay. Now I just can't wait until you do mother of all battles! (Nudge, nudge)
Wish my units were a different color than enemy units. Wish I could deselect. Wish it were easier to see which cities can buy men. Wish it was smarter about telling me when my men can move.
I was just trying to think of the little strategy game I had a demo of growing up on my first computer, did a quick Google and found this. Never had a chance to buy the original but it brought me so many hours of joy so I'm so happy to play this again and support the person who made it.
So simple, so great. Multiplayer would be cool, and sometimes it crashes, but otherwise I absolutely love this game. If anyone is wondering how to make mobile games, look at Slay.
Slay is a great little game, that requires an interesting balance of greed and protecting your lands. Unfortunately, after just a few games, Slay becomes almost unlosable, and loses some of its zest. I've enjoyed my time with the game, but for a five star rating, it would need to have more active and aggressive ai, and more interesting maps -- maybe even a custom map maker.
Epitome of easy to learn, hard to master. Very addicting, although after playing the crap out of it for a month or two I've run out of content. Multiplayer would help replay tremendously. Very much wish I was shown what territory I lost to computer with red-outlined hexes or something. Gotten better at remembering my boundaries but on big maps with more than a dozen territories its impossible to remember. Unit cost is on the help screen -- I still go there regularly to double check my math but there's no reason the app couldn't do that for me.
I had the shareware version of the game for Windows 95. I have been trying to get the full game ever since. I'll post a proper review later, but based solely on how much I played it back then I had to but it immediately.
A great version of Slay. No difficulty in transitioning from the Windows Slay, which I purchased years ago. It's rare to have a game that you can play casually in bursts and still have deep strategy, and this is that game. Interface is intuitive and the switch to touch input was well done. I highly recommend.
Hard - Fogr is impossible to win! If anyone can beat this one please let me know as I've tried every possible way! I urge the developer to try and beat it! Not happy!
I played this all the time when it was only for iOS. But now it's here for Android and I did not hesitate. Purchase on sight!
A rare strategy game that doesn't feel like a knock-off of anything else. Simple, elegant rules that lead to challenging play and a brutal AI.
Loved playing this on windows, my fond memories of this great game, still holds true. Classic game play, hold up against anything available in the market today.
Two bug reports for today... 1. If a player holds game figure and exits, he/she loses that figure. 2. Sound. All activities should +/- media volume. At the moment, main flipper influences ringer.
Ive been playing this since my father got it on one of his original palm pilots. Glad its still going. Very fun!
I played through all very easy, easy, and all hard maps. Very hard maps, will actually give you a real challenge. This is not p2w, it's all about skill.

Love the game. Very powerful opponent AI. Played antiyoy first as my introduction to the Slay format. The Antiyoy AI couldn't withstand me though; it just wasn't smart enough. The legit Slay (this one) is a whole different story. You have to play careful and always be aware of your boards vulnerabilities. The only cons, to me, are that the UI could be updated to be more polished, units should be color matched to the team they're on, and better representation of how much money you'll have next turn.
