Before 3D graphics were widely available for use in games, there existed a few classic adventure games that relied on words to spark the imagination of the player. When I was a young teenager, I was enthralled by such games as "Adventure" (it takes place in "Colossal Cave"), which was alive with magic at every turn.
Inspired by this classic, my cousin and I would stay up late into the night, inventing our own fictional worlds and writing our own adventure language interpreter, called "Explore". In the process, we created the first three adventures included in this app ("Cave", "Mine", and "Castle"). Unlike these first three, the last adventure, "Haunted House", is based on Radio Shack's old TRS-80 game, recreated for the Explore adventure interpreter in an effort to preserve its legacy here.
Through "Explore", you can visit these magical worlds. By using simple one or two-word commands, you can walk around, find items that will be useful later, and follow clues to help you escape and win. if you need some help getting started after selecting an adventure, just enter the "help" command.
By today's standards, these old "text adventures" may seem quaint, but many people still find them a fun challenge. These worlds exist in your mind's eye, with all the richness of reading a novel. You can see, explore, and interact with your surroundings using only your imagination, and this can be quite a cool experience!

Excellent storylines, descriptions and usability. Took me back to the days of my youth spending countless hours sovling these kinds of games. Have only solved two of the mini-games so far (ie. Mine & Castle), so still working on Enchanted Cave at this stage. Would love to see more games of this kind especially classic Text and Graphics adventures from ~80's. Keep up the good work.

I can tell I would love this game already. But, the problem is, it doesn't allow you to perform basic actions. Can't get past the first stage in ANY of the games. Frankly, it's bullshit. If someone would like to at least tell me how I can light my lantern in the cave WITHOUT using one of the TORCHES (THAT ARE ON FIRE), that would be great. Until I can at least get past the intro (which should INTROduce you to the concepts and words I am clearly not finding here), only one star, because this is ridiculous.

Loved this game, enjoyed it more than any in ages! The skill and fun is in building up a mental map of the situation and working out what objects might be useful where and how. Tips: Keep it simple with the commands eg 'verb object'. You have to take an object before you can use it. Three clever fun games for free, takes hardly any memory, no special permissions! Never bothered to review a game before! Thank you!

@Martin - try typing SAVE to save game. Then when you come back to game - launch game mode you were using them type RESTORE or RESUME - read HELP
