Great DM tool. Best one I've tried yet, especially when used with the Fifth Edition Character sheet and Custom Builder. A few things I would like to see, like the ability to export campaigns and their components, and I kinda wish notes weren't shared across campaigns, but still gets full points as I feel those are subjective. Thanks!

I really want to like this tool but I can't find a way to add all players to the initiative tracker at once or even add them to an encounter. It's just a cumbersome and longwinded process to set up any encounter, as each player needs to be added individually. It makes fluid DMing a bit of a problem and it's just easier to do it on pen and paper. Beyond that, the tool COULD be very useful in terms of keeping track of a campaign and encounters. I just wish that this issues was fixed as they are blockers to me using it in my campaign. I really don't like keeping my part waiting. On the other hand, I may just be clueless as to how it's meant to work, so advice on this would be appreciated.

Biggest gripe is that the name of the app only says "fifth edition" and after downloading these, I now have a number of the apps with the same name. I don't know what the blue die is or what the green die is when looking at apps.

Long time player, first time DM. Makes keeping track of everything so much easier, and using it helps free up tables space so I can use my miniatures. Using this with the other tools by this developer really helps keep track of everything ands saved on paper, which is good for both the environment and your wallet

I like it so far. The controls aren't as intuitive as I would like. Also a clear field to track party Passive Perception at a glance would be great.

S70%
by S####:

Alright. This app is heavily reliant on you putting your own data in, but I would desperately love a way of backing up the rest of the data, not just the monsters (which need to be cross-checked anyway, as it loses abilities and attacks after backup).

S70%
by S####:

Far too clunky. Needs a ton of refining.

D70%
by D####:

I like it and it helps me keep track of my monsters and NPCs. Just wish it wasn't so confusing at first. Maybe add in a small tutorial of how to use everything for first time dm's.

S70%
by S####:

It's useful for new DMs and experienced DMscan use it to better keep track and not use a note book to mark ever NPC and innovative orders

S70%
by S####:

Very full featured and powerful. The UI could use a coat of paint, but when the app works this well and is this robust, it's really a minor issue.

by S####:

I'm a fun dungeon master and I love hanging out with my friends however it took too long to get characters out or make up monsters from the top of my head. This helps a lot and I recommend it to the fun DMS out there

S70%
by S####:

Works well, but could really use some documentation. Perhaps a sample adventure to show you how to setup a campaign. Also don't see a way to transfer a campaign between devices.

S70%
by S####:

This app is fantastic and so are the custom build and character sheet apps. However, to my knowledge only the character sheets are accessible on the Apple App Store. I would love to make these apps a staple of my campaign, however my DM is an Apple person. Are there any plans to bring this app to the Apple Store?

Really helpful app but looks really boring. Which is good since i'm not using it for it's looks or gameplay.

Fantastic tool for DMs while managing a campaign! My only issue is this: I've set up a campaign on my phone and have recently purchased a new tablet I'd prefer to use. I can export monsters and players, but not the campaign itself. I've tried looking for the files on my phone to manually copy them over, but no luck. Is it possible to do? This feature would save me A LOT of time transitioning from phone to tablet!

So far so good. Imma DM from 20 years ago and starting it up again with my teen boys. Controls are fluid once one gets the jist of them. Contacted the developers on the skills and save modifiers (why do they populate as negative?), waiting on responce. If any one can help that'd be great, btw. Really having fun with this and the Character builder apps. They import and export together...big plus. THANX SO MUCH FOR TRANSITIONING TO 5E EASIER!!!

Excellent excellent excellent! My only problem is the lack of much to really get out of buying premium. What would make this app better would be a dice roller, maybe a map creator, and possibly a reference guide like the app "5e Complete Reference" so I don't have to manually make any items and monsters I want to use.

S70%
by S####:

Great app, great options, but a little confusing. It literally took me a month to realize the app was not broken. Using the initiative tracker you won't see the number any of the players rolled for initiative, you will however see their HP and AC. It wasn't until I started adding monsters that I saw any initiative numbers. Showing the initiative numbers for the players would go a long way to making the app more intuitive.

by S####:

The sheer complexity of creating and coding a system to decode and translate 5e's ruleset into an adjustable CR calculator/monster maker must be staggering! So huge props to you there. My one nitpick is that I can't figure out how to adjust/remove attack actions from the advanced Offensive CR menu. Once an attack is input, it stays, and the creature must be restarted from scratch, which is frustrating because it's nearly the last dropdown list in Monster Maker. Yikes. Hope I can figure this beast out...

This product is really only a trial. You will need to purchase the premium edition to use this tool effectively. I haven't actually used it at the gaming table yet, but I'm going to start building my new campaign with this great looking tool. I'd appreciate an easier way to start initiative tracking in an encounter with the party. Right now, after adding the monsters via "add encounter", you need to add each player individually. Setting the players initiative is confusing, and the whole process takes too many clicks. I'd like an option to "add party" and then fill in all of the party's initiative rolls in one dialogue box.

S70%
by S####:

It's pretty good. While it has room for improvement, the biggest problem is that if you "back" out using you phone's clear/return/back, it exists the app, and your encounter is lost. Please add a simple confirmation that we really intend to exit

S70%
by S####:

Truly needs is the ability to randomly assign a monster. It also needs a complete list of all the monsters the options that I have are very limited and are not very helpful in creating my own campaign. There just isn't enough options for monsters. And honestly a tutorial, basic users manual, or even a link to a 15 minute advanced how to video would be great for new DMs

Love the app ! Not really my style of app, but I found an excellent use for it and it's helping a ton with the sessions. One thing would be great if you could add... When you roll initiative in an encounter and select that the same group of monsters share initiative, please, group them also in the tracker so we don't have 4 goblins with the same initiative, 6 worgs and a goblin boss to scroll through. Overall, awesome app, I highly recommend it !

(Almost) a great dm companion tool. Having a screen for turn order and to be able to keep up with AC, hit points and attack modifiers for all characters on one screen is great. Monster creation and import/export is good. Can import characters from his 5e character sheet app. But has a few large problems (to me anyway). Lack of confirmation on back key is crazy. Loses entire turn order easily like that. Lack of proficiency makes updating characters after a level a bit tedious. And I'd love to see a way to prevent character hp from restoring to full after every battle.

S70%
by S####:

Great work. Love the app so far. Do wish it would have separate lists for minsters and e.berthing for different campaigns and the notes for monsters wouldn't show up in the general notes list. Makes it heavily crowded. But for a simple DM organizing tool. This is the best out there.

S70%
by S####:

Awesome app. This makes DMing sooooooo much easier!!! The only problems are having to input everything manually and a few things that would make some of the features easier to use (like a loot generator and cloud/drive file downloads). Also, will you be implementing cross device synchronization? Cuz that would be AWESOME!!!

S70%
by S####:

I enjoy and use this app a lot. I don't, however, understand why the default for any saves - no matter what point I make the stats or if I add proficiency, defaults as a -3. I have to customize every save for every creature/player/NPC as 3 higher than I actually intend it to be. Am I doing something wrong?

Y70%
by Y####:

While it is useful, it really is dont get me wrong. Just that I have lost so much data on monsters i have made and made for subpar game play when i click on the monster one of the first options is "delete" with not even "are you sure?" Same with the abilities and actions which I have had the same issues with. While yes it is useful the learning curve is painful to say the least, which is why i just use the player one and customize it heavily for the monsters and make sure that i have it all correct.

by I####:

Been using this in conjunction with both the Character Sheet app and Homebrew app, and it works well. Some features are a little confusing, but as a whole it is great. It saves all monster data on export .json files, allows import of characters to keep everyone up to date with EXP, but you have to edit the file to update stats, HP, and abilities. You can use monsters as soon as you write in their statblock, and you can share that with other users via Google Drive or other url storage spaces. All in all, it's a solid app if you don't mind putting forth a little work for your group. My group passes DMship around, so sharing monsters is a really important feature for us.

S70%
by S####:

Its a great app, i have only one complaint and unfortunately its a big one. If you keep a note open for too long there is about a 80% chance it will fail to save when you are ready to submit it. Ive written a whole chapter of story on a note before and poof... its gone becuase of a failed save. Another issue is editing notes does not work, it will allow you to edit a existing note but never saves it. Besides that its a very good app and ive used it in the same campaign for two years.

I'm a new DM, and really wanted this to work. I spent hours inputting data, and when I was ready, gave the initiative tracker a whirl. Total fail, crashed the app, super slow. I already was less than happy with the interface and having to stumble through with no user guide or help feature, but I'm so glad I tried it before I was actually in a session. Graphite and paper, or an excel spreadsheet would have been a better use of my time than trying to figure out this glitchy app.

W70%

Very Useful app. A couple issues need to be Addressed. When adding players to an encounter the app does not register their Initiative rolls or static input. Also When creating a "Player" there is no option to adjust for Proficiency level.

J70%

Haven't gone into all of the tools it has but am very happy with it so far. The only suggestion I have would be to make it possible to preview npcs and pcs by tapping their name as you can do with monsters.

U70%
by U####:

Ok so when is there going to be all the monsters added on here and a tutorial on every one of these apps? It's not fun trying to figure these things out when it could be done for you. So add all of them and a tutorial as well. Even adding something like create a random monsters and getting to choose its abilities would be great.

S70%
by S####:

Love the app, but it took a long time to figure out. You can also screw yourself with the initiative tracker if you hit the back button, as it will wipe the encounter completely. Very frustrating if this happens mid combat, would love a solution or at least a warning.

First off I have purchased all of these apps (Character, DM Tools & Custom Builder). I absolutely love the Character Sheet app & am blown away with the capability of building characters with that & then importing them into the DM Tools. But before I can really depend on this tool I need the ability to save all the data so I can be sure nothing is lost on a device failure & to enable transferring to multiple devices. Is that being planned for a future update? Or at least where are the files, I'll copy them myself. Appreciate the work, thanks.

S70%
by S####:

Not overly obvious how to use it at first but once you start to get the hang of it you'll find it's certainly a useful app. I don't know if I'm confident in it enough to use it by it's self to run my campaign, but it's been a very useful peripheral to what I was already doing. If the author it's reading this, please add a way to be able to expand an NPC card by clicking it like you do with the monster cards, I went through all the work to enter over a dozen NPCs, but I can't quick reference them as easily as I can magic items or monsters with a single click, as it is now I have to go into the actual edit screen and sometimes when I hit back on my phone it just exits the app entirely and I lose where I was which slows down my games a little. Otherwise, I've enjoyed using this app and was happy to purchase the unlock!

D70%
by D####:

First of all, this is a useful tool. It's really nice to keep track of monster HP and, obviously, the initiative. However, I find it incredibly limiting to have only one encounter open at a time. I wish that I could save encounter scenarios and then be able to open them as my party reaches them. This would mean less time wasted fidgeting with my tablet while the group is ready to fight. My only other gripes are the less than intuitive method of using the app and the lack of ability to see at a glance what was at the top of the round when we started. I like to include count downs/timers based on rounds elapsed and it can be easy to lose track without some sort of marker.

T70%
by T####:

Well, I really only use this to hold monsters, simple NPC's, and locations. Making advanced players and NPC's is somewhat frustrating, along with creating encounters(which seems pointless to me), but none the less, it does what I want it to do and that's all really need

K70%
by K####:

It's okay, but it could definately be a lot easier to use, and there's definately a lot of things that could be added to make it such. As an example, when creating a monster or such, and you want to add a vulnerability, resistance, or immunity, it will only give one pre-made choice in a list of whatever, and then if you want to add another, you have to write out the rest. What if a monater has immunity to Poison and Acid, and is vulnerable to Bludgeoning, Slashing, and Stabbing? You could get one suggested choice, then have to right out the rest. Also, maybe giving an explanation on how certain things work in dropdowns, and how certain things affect others. Like encounters or locations and whatever for example; I'm trying to plan a campaign for a story I am writing, and since I want to turn it into a real campaign later, actually knowing how to use it would be so much better. Even if those kinds of functions don't get added, if there was at least a website, app, or something that would give a detailed explanation on how everything in this app worked, then it would be very helpful to everyone. Same goes for the other two apps.
