Conway's Game of Life

Conway's Game of Life is a 0-player game. The user interacts with the game by creating an initial configuration and observing how the game evolves.

The state of the game at any time is defined by a grid with square cells. The state at time T is deduced from the state of at time T-1.

For every cell we look at the cells horizontally, vertically and diagonally adjacent to it i.e. its neighbors and deduce the next state based on the following rules:

1. Any live cell with fewer than two live neighbors dies, as if caused by under-population.
2. Any live cell with two or three live neighbors lives on to the next generation.
3. Any live cell with more than three live neighbors dies, as if by overcrowding.
4. Any dead cell with exactly three live neighbors becomes a live cell, as if by reproduction.

Many different types of patterns occur in the Game of Life, including still lifes, oscillators, and patterns that translate themselves across the board.
