You must swipe the polygon boxes to match the color of the with the adjacent other boxes. The game ends when no more swipe was not possible for polygon boxes can be placed. It is an endless game.
In combinational game theory, dots and boxes is an impartial game and many positions can be analyzed using Sprague-Grundy theory. However, Dots and Boxes lacks the normal play convention of most impartial games , which complicates the analysis considerably.
If you match more than 3 adjacent polygon boxes as same color then you will get the points.
