Check! (Nonogram) Free Game

Rated 3.71/5 (243) —  Free Android application by Paul van der Maas

About Check! (Nonogram)

Check! is a game in which you use simple logic to solve puzzles. It's based on Nonogram, which is also known as Hanjie, Paint by Numbers, Japanese Puzzle, Picross, or Griddlers. If you like puzzle games like Sudoku, you'll absolutely love Check!

Check! has multiple difficulty levels and features puzzles of many sizes that are randomly generated for endless game play. A simple 5 by 5 game on easy can take only seconds to solve, whereas a 16 by 16 on hard can take over an hour. For an extra challenge, turn of some features in the settings. Though possible on small screens, we recommend playing really large puzzles on tablets only. For larger puzzles on smaller screens you might have to resize and move the puzzles around (see the Scaling & Moving tutorial for more info).

Please e-mail us if you have any problems or suggestions. We'd love to hear from you! There is an e-mail button on the main menu that'll let you contact us directly.

Don't forget to check out the tutorials (tap tutorials in the main menu).

Loving this game. Different levels, different size boards, all at the touch of a key! I ramped it up to hard for a 6x7 board after about an hour.... I'm glad I can choose my difficulty, because I'm not quite ready for 15x15 yet.

Excellent game, definitely better than the other available versions. Many puzzels, and good because no give-away pics. However, sucks the battery dry.

Would be nice if it were on unlimited time. How about something to let you know when you make a mistake?

Y70%
by Y####:

I love these games, this one has an excellent user interface. Highly recommended if you enjoy randomly generated puzzles versus pictures. Update: Ended up uninstalling because program would consistently freeze on start up and demand a force close.

H70%
by H####:

Not amazing, not terrible. The images aren't actual pictures, and the checks are annoying, but it does let you undo a mistake by reclicking the square, and it also includes grid size options plus difficulty options. So you can choose a grid size and difficulty. Ex, 5x6 and medium. Some of the same puzzles come up again and again which is also annoying, but if you don't mind the grids not being pictures and the annoying checks, its an okay time passer.

K70%
by K####:

Unlimited is nice. But lacking grid, quirky meta marking, and ambiguous (!) puzzles is not good.

K70%
by K####:

Crashes if you leave it without closing the programme properly. Shame as it's otherwise a great nonogami

X70%

As said before, null markers need to be easier to see. Otherwise exceeded my expectations for a free game.

I liked the look and interface. The tutorial is easy to understand. You'll never run out of puzzles with this app, but I found that I prefer a picture (if it's good) to randomly generated puzzles. If you don't care about the pictures, I definitely recommend this. This would be a great intro to nonograms

N70%

Most of the other games of this type, nonogram, run out of boards to play. I just wish it had a ruler.

I just got this app for something different to play and more challenging. I was able to understand and jump right into the apps and start right away and feel that i'll be killing a lot more of my times with this app then the other similar apps.

I like that I won't run out of puzzles. A little annoying that you have to choose difficulty before each puzzle - would be nice to continue at same setting as previous, but that's a minor gripe. Fun brain exercise.

Good-looking and easy-to-use interface with a few minor issues on smaller screens. The issues don't really detract from gameplay. Plus, it's free and has endless customizability for endless puzzles! Who cares if the puzzles don't make pictures like other nonogram apps? That's not the point of the puzzles. Use your brain and have fun!

Z70%

No actual levels, just generated puzzles. The ui is OK but there are better picross out there.

But too easy select unwanted cells even with small fingers!

B70%

Definitely liking this one.Seemingly endless customizable puzzles (generated I assume). One thing that could use tweaking is meta marking. Almost impossible to hit the numbers correctly. Could also use color schemes. Nice job!

N70%

This is a great game. You can really customize your game play, including the degree of difficulty and the number of rows and columns. There's no lagging; the interface is clean and simple, and the sound is just enough to not be boring.

My favorite. Other nonagram games have been buggy or otherwise displeasing. This game is great except it does not save to continue game if you leave the app and then it requires a new game to play.
