Crossword Puzzle Free

Lot of fun,challenging enough to make interesting the recent changes really improved the game. Would like to have improvement that when you have an answer complete and use the arrows to go to the next, it would go to next incomplete one not have to go through every clue to get to it.

Its all you need it to be. Nothing more, nothing less. I do the dailies --there are two-- one as a test of diction, the other a test of speed.

Ads are annoying but a good crossword app. Tricky for a non-American though.

Is letters filling in boxes, no space between letter & bottom line of box, so glancing at words & letters to solve makes less tools as easy access

It would be nice if you had different levels of difficulty. Or did I miss it?

I really enjoy this app. It's a perfect skill level. I have two very minor issues, but otherwise this is a great platform. A prior version allowed you to "pencil in" letters, which I thought was really nice. They seem to have taken that option away though. Additionally, I'd like it if the individual puzzles were labeled with what pack and number they are. I like to bounce between puzzles, and it makes it challenging to keep track of which one I've been working on. These minor irritations aren't enough for me to take off a star, but perhaps the developers could take them into consideration for the next version?

Generally I find this easy to use and the general knowledge required is fairly broad. Not all celebraty or TV based fortunately. There also is a good balance between American English and UK English. Some I have tried are far too American for me. One niggle is that some of the clues are quite repetitive. Eg words like brie Edam ecru edgy to name but a few seem to feature frequently as answers. I also like the infrequent appearance of adverts. In some games they can be overly intrusive.

Overall not bad compared to some of the others. The keyboard is a bit small, esp the navigation arrows. The settings button is out of place on the keyboard, it should be in upper left as per most apps. Make the puzzle a bit smaller and the keyboard and the navigation arrows bigger. Update: now that I've used it more, the key board definitely needs work. The Solve buttons take up too much room for seldom used feature. Move the Solve buttons to the Settings as described above and make the keyboard bigger. Even the clue bar could be smaller. Otherwise, it is very good. Please don't change it so I have to compete online or otherwise sign in. Keep it simple...

I enjoy thinking But I find some of the clues too American (I'm not). I dislike not knowing how many words form the answer, please rectify this. And as others, it's frustrating to be at the beginning of a word rather than at the 1st blank space in it. Overall though it helps to keep my brain active. CB

I really like these crosswords! They are fun and can be challenging. The only complaint I have is that some of the puzzles' clues do not specify if the answer is more than one word, but that's a tiny thing.

When it jumps from a word you finished to the next word it dosent always go to the first letter still required and it should. Also if you put in a wrong letter it should stop not go on to the next letter or word. Third, many answers are not words or they are two or three word answers. This should always be noted with question so you have a better idea what you are looking for. Thank you.

After having used it for a while now, I find the newest incarnation wonderful. I like the various ways it can be customized. The game menus are intuitive. The puzzles are just challenging enough to keep it interesting rather than frustrating.

The app is actually pretty good, the reason I gave all one stars is because every time I open the app I get asked to write a review even after I've written one. It's super annoying to say no every day and they still ask.

I've had no problems with this app, which makes me love it, and the puzzles are in the sweet spot of difficulty level for me: hard enough to make my brain work, but not hard enough to be frustrating. Update: Still like the app for crosswords, but video ads with (loud) sound that cannot be turned off or exited have been added. This really reduces the app's appeal since I use it before going to sleep and am married.

Thanks to the developers for listening to our feed back. Only comment is that exiting the game is still difficult and keeps repeatedly asks to review the game even when you have done it. Otherwise great game, excellent graphics. Single button to reveal word or clue is great.

It would be greatly improved if the answers were all spelled correctly. Example your answer was enrol the correct spelling is enroll. For people who cherish correct grammar and spelling this makes completing a puzzle very difficult.

This was great until the latest update in July 2017... now the controls are flaky, it keeps asking if I want it to reveal the solution when I am attempting to put the correct value in, and often gets stuck and the display gets weird when I attempt to enter a letter... I wish I could go back to before this latest update...

Sometimes i cannot see the grid boxes on the right side due to the edge of the samsung. And some menu options dont stay the way i set them. But otherwise great game!

Good game. But a shame we don't always get told how many words in the answer. Also if you put in a letter half way through a word it jumps to the next word instead of highlighting the next letter required in the word you are working on. Also the letter Q needs to be better seen. As it always looks like the letter O in the grid. Very confusing. Please sort it. Make the grid bigger to accommodate this. Just come across a clue & answer that is incorrect. Clue... A Clip Fed Gun... Ans... Bren. A Bren gun is magazine fed not clip fed. A GPMG is clip fed. US euphemism again!!! Not all players on this game are Americans. Can you also let us in on how many words there are in the answer on all the clues.

Just went to play after being away for about a month & everything is changed & I have no idea how to get to just doing a crossword puzzle. Why did it change to be more complicated?

I am glad they fixed the upgrade to include an option to deselect auto-jump to next empty word. Now it's back to being my one and only favourite crossword app!! :-)

Letters are a bit small and back arrow on incorrect entries isn't very intuitive. But overall it's a good app and at least it's British words and not American slang. Really enjoying it. Thank you.

i've been playing this game for about a week. it started out great. there is an ad that will pop up everytime you go to your puzzle. not too considering the game is free. my biggest complaint, and the reason for my rating, is how very laggy and unresponsive the app becomes after you completing 1/3 of the puzzle. the whole app begins slowing down to the point of 3 or more seconds after tapping a box before it will highlite and show the clue. very frustrating and nearly unplayable. i have also found the same errors others have mentioned about clues not matching the answers. for ex. 1 clue for 4 letter word was "deli spread". easy answer (mayo) but the clue didnt mentioned the abbr. in the clue all crossword creators use. update: the latest update has solved 100% of my original complaints. I am super excited the devs listened to the issues and solved them. it is now my fav app.

This app is really good. Gets the brain thinking and is good for doing at the bus stop. Only thing that stopped you from getting a five star was the American words used. I use British English even though I am a Kiwi. Make some with British words used or Kiwi used. Maybe different app. Overall always a challenge. Keep up the great work. :-)

I wish there was an upgraded pay version so I can get rid of the ads. Also would like more puzzles. There are a lot of the same clues used over and over so some more diversity would be good as well.

Love the game, just wish that it would save my settings for puzzles when I edit them. It gets tedious needing to change them again whenever I close the app.

Excellent way to pass the time. Enough easy clues to even out the more difficult ones. Sick of getting asked to review the game when I obviously already have.

Finding the new game very hard to navigate. Wish you could make a change to ease a move from across to down clues less cumbersome. It's a real nuisance!

Decent difficulty level, easy-to-use game mechanics, ads aren't excessive for a free game, several errors in the puzzles. eta: Every time I launch it it asks me to review, even though I already have. Very irritating
