Valiant Hearts The Great War

It's not very often in impressed by a mobile game. This one manages to convey a good story while managing to keep your attention with fun game elements. I'd have rated 5 stars but I'm never impressed by the short demo following up with an option to buy more chapters many of these games seems to be using lately. I would however like to recommend this game to anyone looking for some nice entertainment. I've spend some hours into the game and have only made some steps into chapter 1.

I never expected such a simple game to touch me in the heart quite like this. Simple and fun gameplay with an excellent art style and fantastic sound design combined with genuinely emotional moments ranging all over particularly nearing the end. This is perhaps one of the only games that has ever brought tears to my eyes. Valiant Hearts is a humble masterpiece I would recommend to anyone who has the time and means to experience it.

Great game. Stunning even. But massive bug issue in flight of the bumblebee. Hatch never opens to throw dynamite into. Apparently this bug dates back some 3 years! So I couldnt play to end of chapter, but do appear to be able to move to next chapter. Hope not finishing has no impact on gameplay anywhere else....I paid near on NZ$12 for all access....

Brilliant game. Well worth the small price I had to pay to glimpse into the true tragedy of war and the ultimate price millions had to pay for it. Emotionally gripping. Had to fight back the feels at the end. Gameplay requires creative problem solving, which gets the brain juices flowing a bit, but ultimately it was the great story of individuals caught up in the Great War that drives the message home... That's where the heart is. ♥

The game has been great so far. So good I bought all the episodes. But it won't let me play them! It just has a warning icon on it! 7$ down the toilet? or is my storage full? If it's my storage then maybe you should think about letting the player know instead of just putting a warning sign and not letting me play the episodes I payed for. Smh. Where's my refund?

Amazing soundtrack and artstyle. Just know that the free version only contains a teaser. The full game costs 8 euro (seems fair to me). Controls can be a bit wonky though. But i guess the just didnt want to clutter the screen with buttons... TL;DR. If you have 8 euro: buy it

Its a fantastic game and I love every part of it. And after finishing it there are only two little points which could get improved:1. I laughed every time when I repeatedly see Emile in his undershirt , it didnt bother me it was just a small laugh in some pretty tragic moments. 2.The little Minigame of Anna was fun for the first times but after several wounded people it just got a bit anno. i recommend spending the 10 Dollar on that fantastic game cause its worth the knowledge and the story.

Woww.. The story, the music, the sound, the illustrations, the graphic interface blew me away..! This would be my story book game that i will cherish and put closer to my heart. I just downloaded & played the dog story and it made me cried tears of fountain!

Normally I don't pay for any apps but the game was already too awesome I went for it. Don't regret a single cent. Good job Ubisoft on an awesome game.

Game with really deep story. It helps us to see the consequences of war on soldiers and people. This game discourages wars..I loved it so much. The ending literally cried me. I highly recommend you purchase this game, it's really worth the money. I happily purchased all the episodes. Respect and Love for Developers and Team. Thank you for making this game.

I've bought 4 episodes and it cost me $8.99. I though the game was brilliant at first. Then I've reached episode 2 'Ypres' and it forces the game to stop everytime I try to play it! So dissapointting because it would be a great game of only I could play it. I want my money back because I'm not able to play the game!!!

This game was awesome! I didn't know a whole lot about WW1. It pulls you right in to the story, it's fun and educational. There are parts that make you happy and feel good and there are parts that make you sad. Good graphics and gameplay and the music goes perfectly with every part. Great game and well planned and executed. The old pictures with the facts were so cool too. Loved it.

I like the game, the little I was able to play. Unfortunately it crashes with explosions on my Xperia z4 tablet. This means pretty much all the time considering you are playing a war game. When I found out, I had already paid 8 euros for all the episodes. So now I am out the money and have a game I cannot play. The ubisoft team did not answer my email. They neither fixed the bug nor did they refund my money. So I can only discourage installing or buying this game, even though I liked the little I have seen.

The download was longer than the game itself. If I wanted the full version then I had to buy it and that cost $15. Do not get this game because I watched it on YouTube and it was a good game but then I got it and the game was crap.

Trying to use with wireless headphones screws up the sound. Headphones work with music player and YouTube but not on his game. Crashed twice on first day... A game app that crashes and doesn't save progress... But hey-ho they've already received payment so what do they care if you don't play the game

The story has been great in the beginning to okay at the end. Unfortunately what really made me put down a 3/5 is that the swipe controls for tablet is not as easy and fluid to use. I found my self frustrated with the swiping action just trying to bring my character from one end to the other. It takes multiple taps for your character to do a single action. The only parts of the game I like is the art and the story (but not the end). Hopefully the controls are a better on the PC rather then tablet.

In short, beautifully executed. I actually care about all of the characters & their stories. Controls are a bit awkward, however the game itself is mainly puzzle solving with few action sequences thrown in between.

I love the game. Fun characters, interesting storyline, and a unique art style. Only real problem is when you are trying to run a different direction, and they have like a second long animation while grenades are being chucked at you.

Awful controls and game play often crashes between cut scenes not allowing you to progress. Can't believe I wasted my money buying the chapters before game play.

Wonderful masterpiece. Atmospheric and engaging, manages to evoke a vast array of emotions as you play it. My only grouse is that the autosave between plays shd be shorter. Right now it seems we have to play thru the chapter to save game

Great game but having a lot of audio skipping going on with my Android phone. Has this problem been addressed? Any way to fix it? Is it a minimum requirements problem?

You will wait for ages to download millions of kilobites to play only for couple of minutes before it starts asking you for money. You can not even get a proper idea what the game will be. And the sound quality is pretty bad and unstable. What a waste of precious time. Uninstall.

The game itself is great. Love the art and the story telling in it. It is very sad though. Just watch all of the reaction videos online to the game's ending. Everyone is balling their eyes out. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is because for some reason I can't install this on my Nvidia Shield. But there is another app the is the full game which is compatible. I've unlocked the full game on this version, I should be able to run it on the Shield. Complete nonsense.

This game is amazing. I love how deep this game is, there is so much emotion and foreshadowing you tend to develop a real connection with the characters. Bottom line is this game is a must play for gamers that like to take their time and get a lil attached to your game character. While also going through some challenging obstacles along the way.

I wanted to purchase all the episodes especially since it's 20% off if I buy all the episodes multipack. But when I click on Store, there's a big fat 35% off, but NO PRICES OF THE EPISODES! When I click on an episode, it tells me CHECK YOUR INTERNET CONNECTION! I have immaculate internet connection on LTE and Wifi. Fix or take off the store.

I love this game so much and the soundtrack really adds to the emotion! Definitely going to buy the ost album! It works on my tablet, (Hudl2), but for some reason, it refuses to run on my phone, (Alcatel POP 4). Please fix this as I love this game and would like to play it!

Great game. Story, graphics and sound are amazing. The game play is finicky because sometimes the icons overlap and they're hard to select. Be patient because the game is worth it. That said the cliffhangers are great, I hope they make a sequel (there's a second world war), and now that I'm done my wife can have me back.

Brilliant portrayal of one of the largest **** ups in human history, adding the personal stories to what are lessons based around dates, statistics and geopolitics gone wrong was a fantastic thing to do. Well done. This is right up there with "war of mine" as my all time favourite games.

The amount of effort and attention to detail that's been put into this game is absolutely outstanding! The controls are simple and you can't go wrong, but you will still be left scratching your head trying to figure out how to get out of a sticky situation at times. Best of all is the storyline that they've cleverly blended into, on the harrowing facts of the First World War. A beautifully created game that deserves top marks. Cherish and never forget those that sacrificed their lives for our freedom!......

Bought this for 0.99 on the summer game sale, then Ubisoft took the 0.99 version off and replaced it with free and full versions of the game. The 0.99 version I bought has an in-game sale of episodes 2-4 being 8.99 (note that I payed 0.99 for episode 1, so it's $10 total) but the free version has an in-game sale for all episodes being $7.99. So, I essentially got ripped off a dollar, and have to pay a whole dollar extra if I want all episodes in my paid for version of the game.

The game audio is totally glitchy with a Bluetooth headset. I have no problems in other games or apps. Its unplayable. I also tweeted Ubisoft's support account about the version mismatches between this and the "full game" version with no response. It's a shame, I really wanted to like this.

The stories, sounds, graphics, dramatic music and narrator's voice are perfect! But it is a sad story. You can play the 1st episode and buy rest of them with discount (I paid like 5.5 $).

The best $10 I had spent in App Store. The true lesson we should bear in life is one of compassion and love. For all the advances in human intelligence and technology, we have failed as a species to have ever roamed Earth. Destructive, proud and greedy,our habits amd action will soon destry everything. The most spiritually/psychologically provoking app/game to date.

Beautiful, historical, rich in story and even educational. This game is better played with a controller, as the touch screen controls are a bit unresponsive, and with a game that often requires good timing, it will be a lot less frustrating with a controller. Other than that, the designers of this game have a lot to be proud of. My only regret is that I waited so long to get it.

I like it. But I have an issue at the Maren Battle were it well freeze at one event and take me back too my home screen. If you can find the issue and fix it I'll make it 5 stars. It's such a good game

This game was great but it only allows you to play for about half as long as it takes to install before it wants you to purchase more episodes. Not a good practice. I uninstalled it after the first part.

i got excited and paid for this app and it doesn't work. i paid for the 4 pack i believe . i would like to gt refund. i don't see any option to contact support. pls help... tnx

The game is very beautiful and amazing story but the control is very hard because its not accurate and some times i have to push many time to give order to move right or left and i can't imagine good game like that has stupid control like that.. i give the game 10 , and i give the story 10 and i give the control 0 zero
