I don't know why the ratings are so bad. This app is basically just a bunch of flashcards of medium difficulty. I would recommend it to advanced beginners (as in, right befor intermediate level). Text-to-speech would have made this much better but fortunately German pronunciation is simple: unlike in English, there is no guesswork. I like the fact that the application size is tiny and the background is real black; it looks really good on OLED screens and doesn't drain your battery.
