I noticed that the developer addressed some apparent movement issues, so I downloaded this to try it out. I didn't have too much of an issue with controls other than the fact that I can swipe left in the top center portion of the screen (above the character's head) but can't swipe right in that exact same area most of the time. I need to stay on the right side of the screen to be able to swipe right consistently. The developer contacted me about an issue I had with getting through a door, which was a nice surprise. Graphics are very impressive, and the gameplay is entertaining and also challenging. Different rooms require different actions, so you can't just run through each area without thinking. If you exit the game and return later (or if your character dies), you are automatically returned to the last save point, and it seems there are a lot of them, thus there is not a lot of necessary running through previously explored rooms. You do have to avoid traps in those rooms, however. If you wait a while in a room as you ponder your options, your character will express his/her frustrations. lol Overall this is a delightful gem of a game and is clearly worth a download.
This could have been a brilliant game. It has the potential: great graphics and fiendish traps but the controls are totally awful. The left-side movement control moves through a full 70% of its range before movement starts, making it very difficult to fine tune your movements (something you very much need to do). And what genius thought it would be a good idea to put the swipe movement that allows you to change your view around a room, around the Jump button? This means that, after making a jump, you often sail through the air at stupid angles, after a jump, as the room moves around you. This also means that: unless you hit the jump button 100% dead on... Nothing happens! Add to this, various sound bugs and game glitches (Rolling, Indiana Jones-style boulders that roll back up hill or get stuck in front of you for instance) and this game gets very annoying. In fairness, Thecle do say this is a beta release, so there's time for improvement. So Devs: Better, more accurate controls. A choice of different controls (cross-style gamepad control?) and a sensitivity setting for all controls and get rid of the sound and game bugs and this will get 5 stars. It definitely has the potential
Like Montezumas Revenge but in 3D with a setting that feels like Ico, two of my favorite games. Beats Montezumas Revenge.
