Alien Breed

I just wanted to play Alien Breed but can't get past the Gree screen. Pressing Play Now doesn't seem to work. Can't you just remove Gree and let us play?

I'm a big fan of Team17. As a fan I have to ask you to please bring a real Worms game to Android! That crap EA slapped together was not well maintained; it doesn't work with any device running Android 3.0 or newer. I will enjoy Alien Breed, but I can't hold back while my all time favorite game is left out.

When i first installed Asks to log into gree but then said new registrations not available. However it now works. Hitting back did not work yesterday, however my phone may have been locked up.

Over 20 years old and still owning most of the other games on here. Controls are good and the enhancements are good. Maybe I'm missing something but I can't go on the computer in game. Would be good to see ProjectX come back too!

(4/23/13)Somehow I cannot bypass the 'Sign up for Gree' page and can't access the game at all. Waiting for a fix. (3/2/14)Still no fix. Disappointed to say the least. At least you didn't screw up Worms..

Took 3 downloads to get the right version that allowed access to full game. Now I have it I am happy to say it works very well and is like the original but with slightly better graphics. Also if you run out of keys you can shoot the doors open. That wasn't in the original was it? I will have to dig out my old amiga from the garage. You can also access the shop at any point in game, instead of from intex terminals. A nice idea. All in all a good version and worth £2.99.

The game contains the original maps and an aditional expansion. I would have given it 5 stars but when I try to create a gree account it says in Japanese that it isn't avainable in my area. I live in the US so i guess it doesnt work here. I can't log in with facebook and when I tap the facebook option in the settings menu a facebook window pops up and says that I'm not logged in. Is my game progress backed up? If I make in game purchases will they be saved? Needs more levels. Beat it in about an hour.

After installing and trying to run the game i get a "gree" page open in an asian language (chinese or japanese). I can't get into the game because i have no idea what anything says. I've tried reinstalling and I'm not using a vpn, so i dont understand why i keep getting this asian page.

There's absolutely no reason for this lame Gree to be added to this good game. Remove Gree and I'll give you 5 stars. Hope you bring the other 2 Alien Breed games to Android too. I'll buy them too. Don't use Gree with them! Tried my Moga Pro on this app & it works for some reason. Plays alot better with it too. Galaxy Note 2 running 4.3

While the gameplay is ok, GREE is a waste of space. Secondly, while I paid for this game the screen tells me that it is a free version. When I try to select other packs it tells me that it is not a genuine copy of the game. Care to explain what I paid for then? If these two issues were fixed then it would be a 5 star review.

Never played the original but played some of the later games on PSN. I liked those so I decided to try out this one on my Galaxy Tab 2 and it plays extremely well. The updated controls allows an intuitive way to play a twin stick shooter on a touch screen interface. Download this one if you haven't yet.

Come on Team17. One of your best games ruined by Gree and the fact if you play it without Internet it reverts to the free version. Hugely disappointing in the way you treat paying fans. I know you have a million more worms games to churn out but don't abandon games like this please.

I had all the team 17 games back in the day... I even upgraded my amiga to get the new alien breed! Bit daft I know... great to see team 17 back in action with such a top game. Any chance of getting multiplayer going again?

EDIT: Extremely timely response from support with a solution. Simply tap outside the registration window. ******* OLD REVIEW: As Gree have closed down their European services it is no longer possible to register an account and play the game.

about IAP's, the game is the same as it's always been, you don't have to make any purchases, they are there to make the game easier if you wish. If you want to play it as it was originally just don't make any purchases. There is also nothing wrong with the controls, at least not now and not for my phone.

I can't tell if this is spam-ware or not. I can't get past some stupid GREE page. I'm not interested in logging into something or signing up to something. I just want to play the bloody game. Shame, Team17. I'm going to fire up my Amiga and play Alien Breed there instead. At least it won't spam me with ads despite paying money for it.

Very interesting title greatly hampered by clunky touch screen controls and lack of support for USB gamepads. Plus, although the game is not free, it relies significantly on in-app purchasable items - really bad idea! To sum up - a lot of content, but a chore to play.

Bought this in the recent sale and was a little confused that the game is the 'free' version (says that on main menu) & that it says 'this copy is not genuine' when I try to access the additional maps. Wouldn't have purchased if I'd known I was getting a half-baked version. Pity. It's actually a nice remake.

I don't know what people are complaining about. The controls are the same as every other game in the genre and the Gree signup screen can be predictably bypassed. The in-app purchases are completely irrelevant. There's absolutely no reason to buy anything.

Great game, negative comments are a load of bollocks from people who can't use dual analogue sticks or select a campaign from a menu, or figure out that shop works with INGAME currency as well and was designed to. Bottom line : if you like good shooters and gloomy atmosphere, BUY NOW! Also runs great on my One X.

This is in many ways a classic game: hardcore, basic, and fun once you get the hang of it. The option to switch between the original and redone graphics shows the team's respect for their old work. Unfortunately, the game's old-school purity is shat upon by the integration of Gree, a Japanese 'mobile social network' that asks you to join at every startup. On top of that, there's in-game purchases in the form of credits. Trying to buy them will give you an error. A strangely fitting bug, I say.

Can't get past the opening gree crap. It's in Japanese or Chinese. I have no idea what I'm clicking. Could've signed up to a monthly subscription to give them all my money for all I know. I want a refund!

However, I almost couldn't play and wanted my money back because the 1st screen I saw when opening was all-Japanese "Gree" pop-up. I don't understand Japanese. It had 2 options, neither seemed to skip. After looking at other comments I found that you could skip this incomprehensible screen by clicking the black edges (not obvious!). If it wasn't for this I'd give 5 stars.

Do the developers expect me to click on Gree options written in an Asian language I don't understand? What a complete waste of money, how do I get a refund? Team 17 were great once......

I feel screwed. Hey, where's my Google Play integration and achievements and cloud save, and why do I need to pay in game after purchasing the game.

I have no idea how many scared and adrenaline-full days I spent on this game on Amiga. If Team17 was a religion I'd be one of the first believers! Kudos to them for the sounds, level design and atmosphere!

Glad that they added enhanced controls, graphics and permanent unlocks for weapons - though it still looks/feels dated, the improvements work pretty nicely on a mobile device. Was originally put off by the reviews which suggested that a Gree / Facebook login was required to play - fortunately this is not the case. However the Gree splash screen at the start is annoying (you have to tap outside of it to get rid of it) as is the lack of an exit game option (the back button doesn't work as it does for other apps). Oh, and I miss the " welcome to Intex Systems" from the original.

I saw this on sale for $0.99 and though to myself, "Why not?!". After installing the game I find that I only have access to the first four levels, clicking any of the other chapters tells me, "This is not a genuine copy of the game" and directs me to a Play store page that does not exist. I'm not sure if it's broken or the rest of the game is intended as IAP, if so nowhere was it listed on the store page. Not happy! Functionally the game is fun though.

Really looking forward to playing this game as it was a childhood fave. However, after installing. some stupid gree screen came up. I thought whats this its all Japanese. But as i really wanted to play the game i just pushed things then it tells me they're not signing anyone else up in my area? Signing up for what? Why is it so hard just to get to the game. Anyway I swiftly refunded and now i need to find something else to do... like go outside :(........ never mind. Figured it out. AWSOME GAME!!

As soon as you run the games goes to some crap called GREE that you CANNOT got past. Wasted my money on this sh*t.

Native controller support, worked out of the box with my GPD Q9 , no need for the button mapper (like most games, the button mapper is good but rarely needed) Graphics are decent, sound is decent, but gameplay while functional is far far far too easy to be fun, especially with the super cheap health and ammo packs for sale... I like metal warriors for the SNES, another platformed I also started today, a million times more... That game is tough , beautiful, and. Awesome! ;-)

Update; turns out GREE can be bypassed by just click outside the box, duh. Still lose a star for IAP on a paid game, best scam since insurance.

Annoying requirement to sign up to a social gaming network. Even if you do, it will forget your details and start nagging you again. A waste of money. Avoid.

One of the best games on my old Amiga 500, and was a good game on my Android until I picked it up again recently to discover I can't play without joining Gree. I don't want to join Gree, I just want to shoot Aliens - is this too much to ask? Remove Gree, or at least the necessity to sign into it, and this game will get the 5 star rating it deserves. Update: you can bipass Gree by selecting the black area around the Gree box - be nicer to have a cross, but at least I can play the game now...

A classic game brought perfectly to Android. Great job. The only thing I would add is the option for the new control scheme with the classic graphics. Still have my original Amiga version in the loft!

Not a port of the past game as there was no VILE in app purchase then. You should pay once for a game not every time you play.

Great game! The enhanced graphics and dual stick mode really brings this old Amiga classic back to life again! It looks great, and it is a joy to play! unfortunately (compared to the Amiga version) it's a tad too easy. On the Amiga you had to save ammo, keys and money. You hade to do tactical choices in choice of wepons and 'extras' in order to complete the game on a single run. In this version every weapon cost 25 000$ (even the best ones), and you never loose them (!). I bought a plasma gun after a couple of stages and it made me feel invinsible. after 10 stages I had 30 keys 9 lives and 86 clips of ammo. That's the only downside of this game, I remembered Alien Breed to be a real challenge as a kid. But I shouldn't whine to much about it. You've done a great Job Team 17! I play it on a JXD 7300s with physical controls and it is one of the most enjoyable gaming experience I have had on this device! :)
