Metro 2033: Wars for Android
It's difficult, probably a little too so for some judging by the reviews. But has good atmosphere. OK, slight edit after a week, some bugs especially in retreat into a station not owned by the player. And I'm damned if I can figure out how to win after I have found all the scientists.
This is a fun but challenging game. I certainly feel that it is well worth the money. I would definitely like a difficulty slider - even on my fourth start I'm getting hammered by higher level enemies (I have one squad high enough, but they can't be everywhere). The story driven nature means I'm probably going to be repeating the start again. A sandbox mode with random generation would probably give this a huge replay boost, since the mechanics are pretty solid. It does have that magic touch of making me want to do just... one... more... turn.
This game is one of the first mobile games I've found that plays like a real game instead of a mobile casual mindless waste. There are bugs that prevent 5 stars though: I can't change/upgrade buildings in some conquered stations. Good game, will be great if ever updated again.
At first this was a decent game, but with the big fixes, improved dialogues, and explanations of upgrades makes this less daunting to new and old players. Now that key missions can be completed and it's easier to grasp the upgrade structure, playing is massively improved. Grab your military grade rounds and prepare for a MUCH better metro rts experience.
Tapstar interactive has crafted a very well done game, their ability to respond to what the fans want is amazing and the game is a very fun mobile challenge that perfectly matches the Metro atmosphere that we come to expect from the games and books. A potential future improvement that I would suggest is to adopt a new soundtrack similar to that of the Metro video games to get the full feeling of immersion, but otherwise fantastic game that I'm glad I've stuck with!
No active support. Modified from the freemium version but still tells you to buy coins. Game is designed to make you buy hero's and coin but that should have been changed when they made a paid version.
The cartoonish characters kind of ruin the atmosphere the real game brings. There was never a werid monk dude with a pony tail and katana in the game. Keep the art based to the game.
It could have been great but sadly it fails. Badly. The game starts fine but within turns you're overrun by endless waves of enemy. Your team doesn't level up fast enough and your best fighters are no match for what comes for you. It makes it a horribly unplayable game and what's worse, I have gathered my stats for a while and the in game mechanics must be wrong somehow. An 80% chance to hit is more like 50% and 50% is more like 30%. What a real shame.
Well was asked to review the game so, the game is great but the "sandbox" part is bull.... U should be able to do whatever u want and being able to pick ur faction would be cool as Well. A metro style civilization would be the BOMB.
Raiders from the surface 1 shot most my people before i get an attacking turn. Enemies are 3 to 8 levels higher then you. And they get first shot. Want a refund for this broken game.
Repetitive, boring game. Good idea, weak storyline.
As soon as I saw metro 2033 I knew I had to have this game. It doesn't disappoint.
I am playing this game for couple of weeks now. Unfortunately I am so disappointed with it, which is sad, specially having a game with so huge potential. Game is extremely bugged (example game freezes in many points, and in order to progress u are forced to reload the save over and over again, until the game unfreezes and allows you to continue with the story line. Be advised that reloading it 1 time wl not fix the problem. You will have to try until successful ). Furthermore more i reach the point in the game where my game completely crashed along side with my save game so i cannot progress further and im quite fed up to start the game from beginning to try to fight my way up in story line again for so many days. Not to mention the game is not balanced well. At later stage u will have opponents so powerfull that if at any point u loosed ur main squad or half of it u will have to spend hours/days fighting lesser enemies in order to level up ur squad back in a level they will be able to affectively fight in a wars. Definitely i do not roccomend this and I am very upset i spend money to buy this game.
Lower the levels of enemies and also how frequently they attack as well as how much damage they do at the beginning of the game please fix it
I LOVE this game. It feels like a proper game. But the game isnt free of problems. Some are small but one, one is a very BIG problem. No sandbox mode! You give me all this open world management stuff but not let me mess around in it?! How could you!? But seriously, I would love a sandbox mode. Let us pick a start, an icon, pick alliances and other such stuff. The game is still great tho.
Android games have finally reached the point that they feel real, not like cheap knock-offs or incomplete projects. Metro: 2033 is one of these games and is great fun. I highly recommend it. I'd been keeping my eye on it for awhile and, since they got rid of IAP and advertisements, I took the plunge (I don't do consumable IAP or watch adscommercials). I'm happy they did as I find the game a lot more fun than I though it'd be. The screenshots don't reflect how the game actually plays. It can be hard at times, but there is always a solution. I did take off one star for lack of documentation, though. I'm new to the genre and this game is far from a proper introduction.
A few turns after getting the first scientist plant guy all of a sudden they come back overpowered and with a plant that has 619 health. WHY Is that a thing I can't win and I get crushed all the time I try and play pls fix op plants
This runs well, has simple base building and combat all in the metro 2033 style. It is hard enough to evoke that feeling of just bearley getting by with minimal resources (after your initial setup cash is gone). I will say some of the mission objectives are a little unclear. For example you are asked to let survivors into your camp. It is not clear that you dont need to do anything. You are also asked to prepare for an attack and its not clear that the attack is munching through npcs before it gets to you.
I know this game is meant to be a challenge but when you get attacked from all sides by level 9 and up enemies every 4 turns, it makes it impossible to do anything. The quest about fending off raiders from the surface, I've fought about 10 attacks or more, does it ever end or is it a forever quest that never ends? On top of trying to fight everything else. I dunno, was good but now seems literally impossible. Add difficulty settings.
I'm on day 400ish and It wants me to take a red line station.... well, I can't even get to a red line station or through hanse, polis, third reich. Confused on where I went wrong... I did reject the hanse mission for three plants purely because that station had already been whiped by mutants... what exactly do I need to do to get through the 4 main factions??
Needs a bit of balancing, bandit gang has over 30 squads! Took a while but the game finally has a new update. Devs took the noble step of balancing the game to a more premium and less IAP level. All trace of micortransactions have been removed, including the video for ammo system. Income and upkeep have been adjusted to reasonable levels. Best of all im not getting attacked every 2 turns by enemies twice my level out of the blue!!! Thanks for the update devs, this is truly a worthy game!

This game does a good job of expressing the constant threat of death from every direction in the Metro 2033 universe. It does however need some work. The resource system needs more explaining early on. I was able to figure it out, but by that point my faction was all but decimated.
This game is one of the first mobile games I've found (that isn't a port of an existing game) that plays like a real game instead of a mobile casual mindless craphole. Thanks for updating the economy and balance. Great job! Issues that keep it from 5 stars though: I can't build upgrades at some bases. Don't know why, just can't upgrade buildings.
The problem is that the difficulty curve ramps up WAY too steep. Once you cross 120 turns or so, it gets out of hand.
As my description says this game is great but needs balancing. Having previous versions where you bought things or watched ads (those pop-ups appear still in game if you try to overspend) for bullets set a balance that a fully paid and no microtransactions model can't meet. I love that it is one price but maybe ramp up bullet producing facilities, a difficulty slider, or something to make it not near as long to achieve what you could in previous versions. It throws the pacing off a bit imho.
This game is fantastic, let alone being a mobile game. Anyone who complains they can't get good games on mobile needs to buy this game and break that trend.
It says you can earn more ammo watching ads but that feature doesn't work. I would even be willing to pay to be able to get more ammo but do not find a pay to play function.

A nice game, I bought immediately after hearing u removed iaps and ads. Been playing non stop for 4 hours, very addictive! :) I think I found a small bug: nikolai s(the plant scientist), his throwing a bulb ability does not seem to do anything. Even if it does not say "miss" nothing is happening?! Also the plants he summons have no ranged attack. Imo he is useless as he is.
After playing this game for a couple of weeks I need to adjust my rating down. I really wanted to like this game as I am a fan of the books. However the progression in the game makes no sense. It is very hard to find enemies close to your level to fight and currently I have over 400 days played with a team around level 18 but I am blocked from exploring any further. All stations are collapsed / blocked and even if I war an enemy such as red line or hanse in order to enter into their lands it won't let me.
it's great, but it's sort of hard too side with factions opposite of the metro, would be nice if we could choose a selected bunker near other factions
The cartoonish characters kind of ruin the atmosphere the real game brings. There was never a werid monk dude with a pony tail and katana in the game. Keep the art based to the game.
Im blown away by how awesome this game is , it should be on xbox because its very similar to xcom and its just as fun. Keep up the great work development team you guys rock :)
I've gotten 25 days into the game, but how do I get the engineer? How do I upgrade and such? I am completely stuck and cannot find a way. Please Help as Google has been useless.
This game is about troop quality not quantity. Upkeep costs for units should be higher but when you higher units they should start at a higher level. Strength of say level 4 should be starting point for new units. Lossing a level 6 then replacing with level 1 can cost you the game
Originally gave 5 but it is unbalanced. Love the mechanism but there's just too many attacks at too high a level
It's been awhile since I played a game on my phone I already loved the metro games and the book so I just had to and now I'm addicted.
Messed up bad 1st game, got it going good on the 2nd try

It could use a battle auto skip for defense based battles if it is clear the defender (player) could wipe the floor with the attackers after numerous failed raids. At least for the wild based ones. Other than that a good game despite the fastball tutorial that would overwhelm a new player trying to make heads or tails how to play.
