The World Ends With You for Android
Ive been wanting to get this game for the longest time because i saw my friend play it and it looked hella fun. NOT. DISSAPOINTED. IN. THE. LEAST!!!! game is fun as hell. The battle system can be tricky at times but the attacks, speed, characters, and the movement of the game (especially its soundtrack) is just flat out utterly AMAZING and STUNNING!! 10/10 all the way!! Oh and...GO NEKU!!!!!
The developers have done an amazing job at updating the graphics and being able to have the game all on one screen. The only problem is the difficulty of the battles being easier compared to the DS version since you can have your focus all on neku and only he is getting attacked and not his partner. This might actually benefit the game since it can appeal to casual gamers more because the dual screen actually made it too difficult for some people causing them to have bad experience with the game as a whole
On Shiki, Day 5, the Reaper Creeper with the businessman won't work properly. No matter how slowly or how hard I pressed, it would move too fast and say I had to do it again. I have looked up ways to solve this and have found nothing that helped. Please fix this error. Thank you.
Didn't want to rate this so low but can't even get the game started. After downloading the initial download and hitting Start all I get is a black screen. When I go out of the app and back in it starts the same download from scratch again. Could someone please look into this? I'm using a Huawei P9, thanks.
Thank you for the ticket to the one of the best memory lanes from my childhood! I played TWEWY a lot back when it was on Nintendo 3ds. Love the story, characters, unique combat style, and plethora of pins offered in the game. Though it's a bit tricky to get used to the controls on mobile phone, I'm sure it'll feel natural eventually. I was surprised to see that the partner system is now made into pin, but I'm glad you didn't remove them. Now excuse me, I'm gonna go relieve some more happy memories :)
Combat consists of frantically alternating between swiping and tapping the screen to generate special attack gauge. Touch screen does not do this game justice.
The game seems like it has potential, but the controls do not feel responsive in the first several battles. When even the first three actions you learn are finicky, then it's hard to get excited for hours more play time. Personally wish I hadn't didn't the money on this one. Though your experience may differ.
i played kh:ddd and saw twewy characters and it blew my mind so i bought and finished the game on ds and realized its on android!! Favorite game for ds is on my phone now! This version is way better
Loved this when it originally released and this version is no different. This was the perfect DS title to transition to mobile. Amazing gameplay, graphics, soundtrack and overall story. I would undoubtedly recommend this to anyone. The only downside is the price of admission considering that it's a mobile title. At the same time, this game has more than enough content to justify the cost IMO
Great, the best of all the games I have played - pricey(i bought it in Ds too) but the extra features justifies it. But why is iap present in such an expensive game (not necessary iap)
Everything else in the market is rubbish by comparison.
After putting hours into this adventure and losing my DS over the years, Square Enix ports this exceptional JRPG to mobile, with an almost seamless transition. Never thought this game would surface in the play store of all places, but its a very welcome edition to my apk library. Incredibly happy with this purchase.
A shockingly good port it what is, by far, my favourite ds game. The controls are sometimes a tad clunky, but not enough to render the game unplayable, or even significantly ruin the fun.
Still one of my favorite games, 10 years later...and easily one of the best smartphone games I've seen. Honestly, I think this version's even better without the odd split-screen combat of the original.
This quickly became one of my favorite games. The combat takes some getting used to but is very fun and unique. The story doesn't do anything crazy but the execution and characters make it one of the best to me. If you like the vibe kingdom hearts gave off this is very similar, but a little more adult. The last thing I want to mention is the music; the game is brilliant but the music is probably my favorite thing about it. There's no other ost like it, and I'm always coming back to it.
I thought i must wait for 6months or more to play in marshmallow. But now, square enix already fix it, nice.for the game itself, it really cool. I thought with only 1 screen it couldn't be as fun as the nds version, but it seems wrong. The android version have a good concept to replace the double screen feature at nds version. my game still at early phase and i believe i will meet another surprising good feature in future. 4* cause of hard to drag neku n only single touch, maybe my phone prob(android one).
Square Enix has done it again, they have made another fantastic JRPG that will engross people from start to finish. The world, characters, visuals, music and game mechanics. They all work together so well! I can't find any other game that can match up to it. Absolutely worth every penny!
And things seem the way they are; it just feels off without the second screen. Lots of little details that you catch throughout playing are lost which there are pieces that were very crucial for us to understand the story more. But the main thing is that you can't use your s pen which would help many people play the way it was meant to be played. But in the end it's still a fun game and has one of the greatest stories I've seen and I definitely recommend playing.
This game is fantastic for all audiences whether you played the game already or not. The premise is just so creative and such a massive breath of fresh air. I only say almost as good as I remember just because the new touch controls take a little getting used to.
One of the best RPGs Squaresoft ever made. The story is fantastic, the combat system is unique, battles are fast paced and can be pretty hard (means, you need to prepare for them, use a "very particular set of skills" and react quickly). The world and the story of the game are much closer to something like Shin Megami Tensei series than Final Fantasy. Modern day's Japan, teenage characters, questions of mysticism, themes of life and death. This kind of things. It's a port from Nintendo DS to Android and the job has been done quite good. The gameplay has been changed a bit to fit on just one screen instead of two, graphics and sounds are much better, the soundtrack is awesome (I'd buy it separately, but can't find it on Google Play). You definitely should play this one with headphones. Unfortunately, the game is totally linear, but it still deserves every of these 5 stars. Good large scale games are quite rare on mobiles, and this game is not just good, it's awesome.
Works great on Marshmallow on a Nexus 6P. 5 stars for the game, but minus one star because of Square Enix's horrendous support. It took them way too long to get a patch for this game when lollipop was released. When Android N is released, I hope they get a patch out quickly for any issues - only then will I rate 5 stars.

Now that the game works on the newest version of Android, I really cannot recommend it enough. It's incredibly interesting and unique, and the DS version is one of my favorite games of all time. This port works great and does a good job of bringing the combat onto one screen.
Runs excellently on my bargain tablet (Ares Nextbook 8). The story is satisfyingly mysterious, with some nice twists. The IAPs are cheap, useful, and mostly one-time only purchases. Only four stars because the controls sometimes cause problems when you try to do one thing in a fight but end up doing another instead.
Great port and reinterpretation of single-screen input. Used to play on Galaxy S5, willing to restart progress on new S7 (Marshmallow) but in-game "update" doesn't download. :(
Square Enix, your support is crap. If I paid $20 (not including DLC) for this game, I expect you to at least keep it working with new system updates, or at least make your users now aware that the game won't work with Lollipop. In not re-rating this until the issue is dealt with, which is a shame -- this game deserves better. Edited the score once this was fixed.

So far the story is decent. Introduction is weird but the protagonist matures and becomes a hero. I like it, but there are a few pin mechanics makes it hard to use. The app can make the touch become more smoother and less edgy.
I would rate this a 5 but for some reason every cut sceen is being skipped and its ruining the game a bit. Is there any way to fix this?
Just updated my Nexus 7 (2013) today to Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and now the game won't open. Keeps closing with an error, same as when 5.0 Lollipop came out last year. Come on, Square. You really can't make a game that just runs on the latest OS updates? Sonic 2 is much older and has never given me problems whenever my OS updated!
Amazing game, I was skeptical at first but this is probably in my top 5 games played now. Take my advice and get used to battles, once you do this game just opens up so much
TWEWY Solo Remix is a beautiful remastered version of the wonderful DS exclusive. It features high-resolution upscaled sprites and textures, and smoother animations. The controls have been reworked and the gameplay mechanics have altered to be able to control 2 characters on one screen. The soundtrack is also expanded with bonus tracks and remixes. Having played the original on the DS, I have to say this is the best version of the game. Hands down one of my favorite JRPGs of all time.
The controls are unplayable and the UI is inconsistent. This game was incredible on DS but now the pacing is ruined.
Twewy is one of my favorite games of all time. This port really does it justice. I still prefer the original ds version, but this is about as good as you can ask for from a mobile port. Fans of the game will NOT be disapointed.
Played TWEWY when it first came out on DS as a kid, and picked up this new version and couldn't put it down. I forgot how great this game is, and I'm glad I can play it again.
Please let me know when you are making a sequel. This game has a awesome story line full of twist along the way with great battle. I love that the game is filled with different music tracks it really gets you into the game play.
When S pen works on battles Ill rate 5 stars again.
I bought this because the ds rom wouldn't work on my phone, and to be honest, this is one of, if not the, BEST game I've ever played. Square Enix knows how to make a good game.
No more complaining from me. It's been about 5 years since I last played, so now it's time to give it another go.

I wouldn't even call it a port since they tweaked the entire combat system for single screen play and added a few extras to boot..this game is truly amazing. A masterpiece. Worth every penny. Everything about this game will pull you in. The grinding is fun. The art is beautiful. The music is excellent, easily being one of the BEST soundtracks in gaming, so good that putting this game on a Bluetooth speaker will put you in J-Heaven. The game play is fun. The story is thought provoking. WHERE'S MY SEQUEL?!
