About FINAL FANTASY II

FINAL FANTASY II

The highly anticipated follow-up to the original FINAL FANTASY, released in Japan in 1988.

FINAL FANTASY II features the bitter and beautiful tale of four war-orphaned heroes who become embroiled in the conflict between the hostile Empire of Palamecia and the rebel resistance. Eschewing conventional leveling for a proficiency system that allows players to tailor their characters' growth, and incorporating a key term memory system that makes dialogue integral to gameplay, this game sparked the spirit of innovation for which the series has become known.

This edition also contains the bonus dungeons added to later editions of the game--the Soul of Rebirth and the Arcane Labyrinth.
The memory minigame is not featured in this application.

New sprites look bad. For some reason they didn't include the ability to adjust volume in app. This rendition of a classic game is sloppy and disappointing.

A game were you can level your stats and weapons to monster attackers

I cant even get into the game. It keeps freezing and rebooting my phone. So i cant rate anything until its fixed. Thank you.

H70%
by H####:

Squeenix has bumbled their way through almost every mobile port theyve released, and ruined most of them, so why should this one be any different? :(

U70%
by U####:

The six seconds of gameplay I can get to between the crashes are great!

U70%
by U####:

Help. I could play just fine until recently. Now I can only play if on wifi or data. If no wifi it just says ff2 has stopped and won't load

W70%
by W####:

Can't play offline?! I'm changing my rating and uninstalling until you fix this

C70%
by C####:

Fix it on Nougat, game won't even open, constantly crashing at startup.

Y70%

Will give a real review when it runs on my Galaxy tab 2.

D70%
by D####:

Awesome, but for reason it now needs an i ternet connection to play.

W70%
by W####:

For a game priced this high you would think it would be good. But the controls are awkward to use (does the D-Pad not exist anymore?) Also playing offline (like on a plane, which was what I got it for) seems to.not work because if you aren't connected to the Internet in any form then the game doesn't launch... Poor planning on devs.

I finished FF1 and now starting FF2 my main problem is when I receive Prince Scott's ring it says "tap and hold status window" I guess to see the world map but it wont let me. Please fix then I'll rate five stars, this game also works well on (Alcatel one touch.)Never mind I learned how to use the map. :3

Would love to give a higher rating, its just that i cant play it on my s7. I downloaded it and when i open it just says "downloading 0/1" and nothing ever happens. Never progresses to even a 1% completion. Always 0%. Please fix this as I have payed for this game and it doesnt work.

Bought and beat ff1 it was the first time I ever finished one I really enjoyed it so I followed up with 2 but it isn't running even close to as smoothly. May be problematic on the LG G4. Though LG just dropped a update that seems to have helped a little the menu/battle engage still very slow to load.

U70%

Forget the mini game that isn't included, this is a far better version of the game than allot of these reviews state. Plus it's $8...which is pretty cheap in 2016. Give it a try allot of these reviews seem like they were written by ppl who just got frustrated and quit. Interface is completely usable.

My save game lost after phone reset. Really good game, i love this game for years. So thats why i bought this. But every 5 minute i play, my phone turned hot, and finally crash.

U70%
by U####:

I would love to give this five stars, because it seems to be a good port, but the design decisions are still a little strange. :/ The "drag to multi-cast" feature is FAR from intuitive and requires some digging to feel out. There seems to be some lag issues with events and conversations with shops. The movement cursor is awkward still... This version is MUCH better than the Android port of Final Fantasy 1; while FF1 did not contain any of the bonus GBA content, this version does contain the Rebirth content. The removal of that content of FF1 is a strange, strange decision on Square's part. :/ It greatly extends the life of the game, so while I'm glad THIS game has the bonus content, THEY NEED TO FIX FF1.

Really enjoyed this game, but now it crashes whenever I try to talk to Minwu at the top of Mysidian Tower. So I'm stuck unless this issue gets fixed. A bit anticlimactic...

M70%
by M####:

I reached the Mysidian Tower. There was considerable slowdown on the first three floors, and when I talk to Minwu on the tenth the game crashes. Cannot progress any further. I'm on a Galaxy S6, any suggestions appreciated.

A decent port of the worst game in the series. There's really nothing good about this entry. Anyone who wants to play around with such a system would do better with Disgaea's "improve by doing" system. As for the story, it's a port of an NES game, so it was already years behind the curve in 1989.

K70%

Improved last bought it. However it crashes whenever I start the game. The controls are terrible.. I have no issue with ff7 and 4.

Fix your unreasonable DRM and cripple options Square, advanced users WILL NOT stand for it, and standard users SHOULD NOT stand for it either! I WILL NOT turn off my USB Debug option, but you can bet the cash I just paid for this game that I will grab the modified apk that has both the DRM and cripple option's removed when it hits. NOBODY should have to turn to sites known for piracy to play a game they LEGALLY PAID FOR! 2016 UPDATE: eternally looking for resources to download!!!

I70%
by I####:

The game is pretty and it seems to be a well-made port of a classic, but it's really, really buggy on my phone (Pixel XL). Takes several seconds to talk to a shop keeper, graphical glitches, hard crashes after about 5 minutes of gameplay...I wish I could play it more, but I can't in this state. Hoping for an update soon, there's no reason this phone should be having issues with a game like this!

C70%
by C####:

The game constantly minimises itself and the video keeps going black during game play, very difficult to play with these problems, some of the graphics are messed up also, in the portraits etc, also the game does not fill the whole screen.

Y70%
by Y####:

It sucked harder before, but it still sucks quite HARD. Don't get me wrong as I absolutely LOVE every FF episode but the PSP version is just KING compared to this cheap ripoff. Not being able to play the snow minigame is the hardest sucking part in my opinion. I would still go for console gameplay anyways.

Coming from the Final Fantasy I on Google Play, this game uses many familiar controls but with enough new innovations to keep things fresh. Spells can be single-target or cast on a whole group. The removal of the class system means you can build your characters however you want, just by playing them the way you'd want to play them. There are some pain points too though. In the opening area, if you head in the wrong direction you'll find yourself fighting monsters that can kill you in one shot. Once the party all dies, you can resume your game, but unlike in FF1 you'll only get to take 1 step before a battle starts.. meaning you'll find yourself in this endless cycle where you're forced to load from a save point or start over. Save your game in a bad area? Start the game over again! Be super careful where you save! There's also a technical problem in the character menus (magic, status, etc).. On my Nexus 6, the left/right arrow buttons are extremely sensitive and even trying to press the button as quick as I can results in a long enough press that it moves at least twice. With a max of 4 characters, supporting a long press on these buttons seems unnecessary to begin with.

I've missed playing final fantasy for a long time, so this is an awesome game and recommend to other ff fans. But I do want to point out a few things that would definitely make this game work better for all. One is a mini map or regular map, the other would be an auto fight option or button and finally if you could cut the prices on buying these in half or so, I'd imagine there would be much more people that would buy these games

Classic game I'm just getting into the final fantasy games starting from 1 previously I only played 7 but I play these classics and wonder were have they been all my life cos they are so addictive I just can't leave them alone and I'm definitely getting ff15 when that gets released but all these early classics are keeping me busy for now

I'm playing on an LG Stylus and the game is hard to enjoy because of the glitches. I have had to save continually to progress. Sometimes when I load the game it's fine and at other time's I have to reload immediately because it glitches off. VERY ANNOYING !!!

Played almost to the third town but couldn't handle how often the app crashes... it was every ten minutes or so and if you aren't constantly saving you have to do a lot of stuff over again.

I now have FF I-IX on my note 3!! Awesome game and love the fact it's a psp port. Touch controls work great as always. Only problem I'm having is it spazzes out and force closes every time I want to quit. Glad it's when I quit and not in game, so I guess I can't complain too much.

Until you get cloud save, you won't get more than 3 stars. Square needs to catch up and add cloud save, and make it compatible with Nvidia Shield.

I have loved the final fantasy games as a little boy. I mean who would think that it would now be on a phone lol. I give it 4 stars because it sometimes lag and it won't let you play unless your connected to internet of some sort, but other than that I love it. I'm go a hop on to it and buy Final Fantasy IX later.
