DRAGON QUEST III for Android
FYI: This is a port of the Japan exclusive Super Famicom version (Super Nintendo in Japan). I have played Dragon Quest III on the GBC, and this is almost the same. There are a few things the Super Famicom version did not have, that the GBC version did because the GBC version was made after the Super Famicom remake. The game plays really well for a smart phone port. The controls are comfortable. I don't play smart phone games because of touch screen controls, but I caved and got this. The graphics and music are the exact same as the Super Famicom version, so its beauty was carried over well. I highly recommend starting with DQIII if you have never played a Dragon Quest game. Great game, and one of thr best in the entire mainline series.
I enjoyed this game very much. I enjoyed the first two DQ games too. I've played all of the Dragon warrior games on the NES and game boy color. This was a great port of a wonderful of an old game. I shall be playing the rest of the Dragon Quest games on my phone also. I think some people look for shortcomings in these ports. I look to have some fun and enjoy myself
The game is great,I have no problems on the Galaxy S7,the only thing that would've make the game GREATER would be the battle animation of the monsters just like the one on the GameBoy Color, come on SquareEnix,it's your same game!! It's okay that you took off the CloudSave so the game can work properly but you didn't had to take out the battle animation for the monsters,I know you can do better, you have A LOT of people who LOVE this game,me included,so can you guys at least bring back the battle animation for the monsters on your next update?? Please??!!!...
This is an excellent game that works just fine on my device. My only complaints are install size, the graphics not being any better than the Super Nintendo for the size, and the portait only setup. I know control options are not that big on a game like this but at least give us orientation or even keyboard or remote controls for those of us that play on devices connected to keyboard or external displays. But since that won't happen you get no more than 3 from me.
They removed enemy anination, I don't see any of the art they talk about in the description and they don't support landscape mode (phone sideways) so it's uncomfortable to play. Waste of money for something you can emulate better for free. Gimme a break.
With new update it request connection to start the game. Why would you ever need that? Fix it and it's 5 stars
The display is messed up now and you can only see half of the screen on galaxy tab a. It worked great the other day. Please fix the screen bug for 5 *
Good game only thing that sucks on the remake is y'all took away the pachisi tickets that allows you to play the board game winning rare weapons and armors, don't know why y'all did that...... Kinda ruins an old school game for people who grew up with dragon quest
Really love the game. Hate how you can't use landscape mode tho
Great time sink! Better than part DW 1 & 2. Must buy If you enjoy old style RPGS this is a must get..well balanced..only issue was getting game to work. Wouldn't work for over a year on my LG G3 but upgraded to S7 edge and worked like a charge. A believe ART may have been active on that phone...NOT sure since I traded Lg G3 phone in.
How do you save? It does not let me save at the church. Unless if there is a different way to save, but all I know is that I have to autosave every time I want to leave
The controls are horribad when you get around town edges. They scare me because it is easy to walk out of the area. Also, the rest of the game is fun.
Missing features from the Gameboy version, and had no cloud save or way to export it.
What the he'll the game is not opening in my Samsung galaxy tab j max it tells that an error has occurred please fix this otherwise refund me the game amount
It is one of my all-time favorites well done and easy to use.
Incompatible with galaxy s6
Needs controller support.
Great old school game from my youth. Great to replay it.
Childhood memory
Excellent NES era rpg
Awsome
Dragon Quest 3 is a mobile port the same game from the Super Nintendo. Controls are okay as select most commands through button presses, but the buttons may be a little small for those with wider fingers. But fortunately it asks for confirmation of every action so you will rarely do commands that you didn't mean to do. Sprites are crisp but lack any battle animations. Ultimately it's a solid game but has a few sharp difficulty spikes
It's a good remake of the classic Dragon Quest 3 for the NES/SNES, although they tried to replicate the cumbersome menu system of the classic. I wish they made it more mobile phone friendlier rather than trying to keep the looks and feel of the original game.
DQ3 is a great game, but the content choices for this version were weird. Yet another translation wasn't necessary, and why remove Pachisi?
I bought this game years ago, and I could never play it. Thanks for finally fixing it. I love Dragon Warrior/Quest.
Step 3 of DQ series fantastic journey gameplay...the graphic getting better and better...the play getting sophisticated now....wew
Thanks guys for updating Dragon Quest 3, I love all the dragon quest games, my favorite dragon quest game was dragon quest 5 hand of the heavenly bride.
One of my favorites. No authentication so you can play it anywhere. One of my favorites. To play. Great classic, awesome controls. Definitly one you should add to your library if possible.
Once this issue is resolved, I will change my review to a five.
Game crashes at same spot. No support to fix.
Family library support for supporting fans! Nice move guys, please keep the updates coming.
Just as I remember from childhood but with drastic improvements all the way around
You forgot the Pachisi/ TnT boards!
Had this for GBC and abs loved it, one of the best games ever made.
Thank you for fixing this! I love this game!
Loved playing this again
In luck once again ! How far will electronic exuberance advance ? Have they perfected the R.P.G as they have with steel ?
Praise the Lord, it finally works. The update to my phone seemed to fix it. I have a HTC One M8 by the way, so can't say the same for other phones having issues.
Won't start after install on note 5 running up to date lollipop. Downloaded over night and it's too late to get a refund '_' avoid my mistake

Fascinating game, of an open-world, player-directed design lineage that we rarely see in JRPGs anymore. This port isn't perfect, but it's solid and mostly well considered. Occasional bugs and crashes are present, but I found that keeping everything updated helped. Terrific localization, from the group responsible for the writing style seen in all other modern Dragon Quest installments.
