◆ Prologue
A century has passed since the events of DRAGON QUEST, during which time three new nations have been founded by the offspring of the great hero of Alefgard.
But the peace they have long enjoyed is no more. Demon hosts summoned forth from the darkness by the fallen High Priest Hargon have brought the land to the brink of ruin once again.
Now, the young prince of Midenhall—a descendant of the legendary warrior Erdrick—must set out to find the two other heirs to the heroic bloodline so that together they might defeat the nefarious Hargon and restore peace to their world.

・Whether you’re keen to pick up where the first part of the Erdrick Trilogy left off, or are entirely new to the series, DRAGON QUEST II: Luminaries of the Legendary Line is sure to take you on an unforgettable journey.

・In this early example of an open-world adventure, players are free to wander the wilds, brave monster-infested dungeons, or take to the seas in search of new lands—discovering ever more powerful abilities and valuable treasures along the way!

Truly a Joy. The first games simplicity gives it a niche appeal these days but I felt this game really took strides. It's definitely old. Party members need to be resurected at towns after death and the only thing you get tracking your process are 5 symbols in your status screen. However if you can deal with having to remember the various cryptic hints random townspeople have to say in stay of a quest log this game will be a blast. It truly is a globe trotting journey that will have you searching every end of the earth to finish your quest. You will feel like an adventurer like never before.

Glitches make the game unplayable. I got stuck in a loop looking for the Prince. The priest at the well of heroes tells me he went to the castle but the king keeps telling me to go back to the well. He never tells me the Prince returned like he should. Checked the other town, no Prince. Searched the entire well, castle and town. No Prince. Please update or refund my money.

Great to play again, but just one issue. After using the warp to get to rendarak, the stairs lead to a building and there is no way to get out. Supposed to be able to go up the stairs and straight out to the world. Can't continue on the path with this bug.

Ive got dq 1-6 and ff 1-6 all run great on my phone except this one which runs so slowly it unplayable. Really need an update but doubt there ever be one

Great remake and amazing game. Major issue is the placement of the "flee from battle" control; its ay to easy to accidentally run when you intend on fighting! Please redesign this!

Great port. I didn't like the NES version very much but this one is much more balanced and less grindy. Highly recommend for DQ fans.

This is where I recommend people start with the series, because it's the cheapest entry that offers a lot of content. Dragon Quest I was very bare-bones, but this game has much more to do and see, and is much better balanced than the original NES version. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a mobile JRPG.

Great port, but hard as nails, and often obtuse. Not a good place to start the series, but a good test of skill for a longtime fan.

Soon as I do any thing after I start the game it crashes. I loved the first one and I was very excited about this one. Please fix.

The game is just extremely slow without some kind of turbo feature. I tend to like old-school JRPGs but having random encounters every five or so tile is not fun.

Almost perfect. Only thing I don't like is the lack of a Cloud backup service. ????

Only 4 star just because it states the prayer ring has unlimited uses but after 20 or so, it disappeared from ellien's inventory -.-and I think I found a bug. When you cast holy protection outside and then go into a cave or dungeon it stays on permanently What's the f'ing point of having metal slimes somewhere if 1: you nearly don't run into them to begin with and 2: they run before you're first turn at a rediculusly high rate. Higher than the original. That's just stupid for only 1k exp???? You would think at 180 attack damage would have at least an 80% hit rate on them who's f'ing bright idea to put all the hole traps in the cave where you use eye of rubiss, just freaking rediculus it's God damn to many and what's the big idea taking out Ellienes dragon transformation skill?????????

Game locks up on title screen. Cannot press, "Venture Forth" or even "License". Very disappointing!!

Another great rendition of a classic RPG. The series gets better as it progresses.

Touch controls are off on Pixel 2 xl. You need to offset touch above the actual touch point

Only got this cause was on sale and wanted to comment . I'm still curious why square Enix games are so high in price on average 15 dollars and up when you can simply emulate them on ur phone for free? Lower the prices square.. no reason dq3 or the ff games should be 15 and 20 dollars

Why are the location, item, monster, and spell names changed? Even with the overall rework to spoon feed casuals, most of the original gameplay feel is preserved, but the name changes are an insult to the legacy of the series. 5 stars for the gameplay, 5 for the interface, 0 for the arbitrary stupid changes that disrespect the original. Seriously, how is "Kazing" a better name for the revive spell than "Revive?"

The quicksave doesn't work more often than it does, it is very frustrating. Also the "Prayer Ring" (item that restores MP and has infinite uses) just disappeared out of my inventory right in front of my eyes. No I didn't discard it accidentally, that requires a conformation and is not what happened. I used it, my MP restored, and then I went to use it again and it's gone. So I tried restoring to a recent quicksave to get it back, but surprise! The quicksave didn't actually save, so its back two levels (23 --> 21 the last time the quicksave did work). Still got some really frustrating bugs to fix.

It's the same old game I remember. Still fun to play. Only you can't play it if you're offline which was half the reason I wanted it. Very disappointing.

First time beating it on the phone. Would love to see a 3D remake of this nostalgic gem on a higher-end system. Really you guys could make this one action based like DQ Heroes for Ps4. This is a stepping stone in the right direction. Worth the money.

I still play the NES carts to this day but this game is awesome for mobile. I beat the first one and after I beat this one I'll be buying the third.

Pro tip. Prayer rings have a chance to crumble to dust upon using them. Still super valuable. Really enjoyed this one.

Playing DQ2 immediately after DQ1. once again great port with dramatic graphical improvements. These rpgs fit so well in the mobile environment. There is now the added party mechanic to the game with each member bringing their own strength to the table. The adventure is bigger than DQ1 and with more things to do. Ultimately I believe I enjoyed DQ1 more as a lot of 2's additions felt like fluff.

This game felt a little easy to me and that's a small disappointment since I have heard this is one of the harder games in the Dragon Quest series. This doesn't take away from the enjoyability too much, though. The game is relatively short, too, so I don't think cloud saving is necessary.

This game delivers and replicates all the features of the classic game without compromising anything. The style of the menus does not match the sprites of the rest of the game, but that is pretty minor.
