FINAL FANTASY IX for Android for Android
Nostalgic and fun. I used to play this on my Playstation about 16 years ago. The controls can be a little annoying since you have to use the screen to move around. Battles are real smooth and graphics are pretty good. Level grinding is still a must, if you're not using the 9999 and Trance cheats. Mini-games are still fun as ever. Chocobo Hot and Cold has always been my favorite and it still is. All in all, it's a great port and is not a bad game to purchase for 20 dollars. Definitely worth it!
I bought this game brand new on the psone and it consumed me then. Now I get to do it all over again, brilliant game, great port, sat here with a smile listening to steiners armour clank as he runs! Now if square could see their way to doing FFviii for us then I would be over the moon with delight! Update! Now can't install on my phone! It's has downloaded to the SD card but when I try to play it just comes up with "insufficient memory" and won't load! There's plenty more space on the SD card though (nearly 20gb available)
I love this game and would love to play it on my tablet. Brand new LG from AT&T. Crashes seconds after the game starts every time. I've tried everything... But that's not why I gave it a 1 star. It is because I cannot email them for some reason and so less than 12 hours later and I can't get a refund for a game I can never play.
Really good port. Had a few errors, mostly involving the cheats that I accidentally turned on and couldn't figure out how to turn off. Also, my save files have randomly vanished, which is a bummer considering how much I'd done. All in all, would recommend, just make sure to back up your files regularly.
A wonderful nostalgic experience and a great game for newbies to the series. The only gripe I've heard for the app is the controls if you can manage without a physical controller I think these are great if not it might be an idea to try steam or another platform
Got about 10 hours in. im at the big tree with the rat people and now everytime anyone in a battle uses a spell the whole game freezes then crashes. So because im fighting the mages the game is pretty much broken no (playing on a samsung s5)
This game is how old ,and unless u have a high end phone it will crash. I play hearthstone on my razer hd no problem. But this game crashs every time I launch it.
Why so many changes? Stiltzkin runs away cant buy from him like in original version also no hippo race and no hidden cards from hippo. Why put it on android and then change the game wonder how many more changes once i am i the castle and forest and so on
Great game. Loved playing this on PlayStation. I'm glad I have another means of playing besides using scratched up discs to play. This game works perfect. For those with troubles please read over the requirements for your phone. Old hand me down phones may not be able to handle it. Keep that in mind. But if your phone can. Enjoy the classics.
Well uve suprised me here i would say this is even better then the original release, really well thought out control system. I would recommend this to anyone and well worth £16 i can guarantee u wont be disappointed with your purchace...
I've been a fan of Final Fantasy and I still wish they would have a Final Fantasy 07 sequel. Squall and the gang. I love the graphics and if you spend enough time to level up, it could take 6 months of entertainment. Thanks .
Square Enix learned their lesson after the terrible FFVII port. FFIX is ACTUALLY optimized for touch screen, and the enhanced graphics is a wonderful edition to this masterpiece of a game. This is a definite must-buy.
I remember when this game first came out when I was a kid. I couldn't stop playing it. Nice to have it so easily accessible from my phone and tablet! No issues so far except a little bit of lag here and there, only bothersome spot so far is it makes some mini games mildly frustrating, but nothing I'm throwing my phone out the window over. More FF's on android please! :D
It's a great port but just wished they could've made the backgrounds HD as well. I lost my saved files all of a sudden, which sucks. Is there any way I can recover them? I'd hate to start over.
Im getting a message saying " insignificant memory " but i already made a lot of room and i have deleted most of my app. Check my memory and i do have enough space
Was worried it would crash on my zte grand x 4. Newer phone, but by no means a high end phone. An inexpensive cricket phone. Runs great, no crashes or lag. I did however have to delete most of my useless apps to make room for the 4gigs of internal storage needed. No big deal. Well worth it for my favorite final fantasy game (: Great port!
2nd best FF game ever next to 7 of course. This is a better port the FF7. This bring back so many memories, I've been wanting to play this game for a long time, but I just have to much going on to play on the PlayStation. This is perfect, I can play when I have time and stop when I don't. Please port some more FF games!!!
Loved it untill am update killed my save. Only reason I bought this is I figured I could keep my device and save intact......stolen PlayStations and corrupted files are the reason I never finished....an update is a really stupid reason to lose hours of gameplay
A great revisit to a classic. Updated with auto battle and speed up options to make grinding less tedious for those who don't want to use the cheats built in. Overall fantastic and I highly suggest it. My only gripe is the load times of battles. With how frequent they are and what the game is being read off of, there is no reason it should take so long to load. Its about 6 to 10 seconds each fight. that adds up to a lot of loading time in a game full of random battles. Get around this by turning off random battles when you are progressing the story, and speed up with auto battle to idly grind out levels while watching Netflix.
Game used to work. I wanted to play while waiting out the hurricane but it says insufficient memory now.
Easy to play. Never was able to play the entire game on my PlayStation because when I did get the game, the discs were so scratched up they were unusable. Wish FFVII was as easy to play. Hope FFVIII comes out and is as easy to play.
This is a awesome port.... Almost perfect great addition with the icon to tell you someone plays cards :). Could we have a memory of the cards from last battle tho to speed up repeated plays against npcs?
The first game I ever played as a kid that had a real story, always has remained important to me, really wanting this to be done on ps4 so I can fully enjoy it again. A remaster would be amazing but I'd still instantly buy it and bot complain if it was a port.
Mad. Does not download. Lots of space. Made a comment and you don't care. So reviews going not so well? Huh fix maybe? Lol thought not... Not tomorrow!
I purchased this with high hopes as I have loved many in the series. I have played it for hours and it's like I am reading a book. I tried to get a refund but the square-enix page is next to impossible to navigate I have bought many SE products this one was very disappointing please someone from as SE contact me
"You don't need a reason to help people." Edit: was a 5 star review but I am dropping this to 3 stars. Reason being that all my saved data completely vanished and I don't have the patience to go back and do it all over again if it's just going to disappear.
I cannot play this game fully. There are no on screen controls. I behave absolutely no way of moving up, down, left and right within the game menus. Please fix this.
I love this game played it several times. Unfortunately it keeps kicking me out so I can't play it. Only giving it a 1 until I can play for more than 30 seconds.
Great game when it works. I often had times when the controls stopped responding and I couldn't continue the game. Ness better control setup. Still can't finish the game without a controller.
Love the game, love the story, graphics, and smoothness. Fair price for no ads and seamless gameplay. Only catch is beware, this game is a hog for space, 3.7-4 gbts needed Really wished ff8 and ff10 were here too, those were my favorites.
This game is literally my childhood and for me to actually live through the game again makes me relive them memories as a child playing this! Also if anyone is having issues with "low" memory even though you have a memory card use your phone or tablets file manager and type in ff and it should appear. Transfer them files and you should be good to go. It comes in 2 parts the download so make sure you transfer both of them to your memory card
The game is really good. The only issue I have with this game is world map. The character seemed to be running slower than in the city and it's kinda annoying. Other than that, the game feels really good
Love the game but I can't download it to my Samsung galaxy tab a. It freezes and then stops at 63 %. Please fix
This has got to be my favorite final fantasy game of all time, only issue I have with this port is the audio lags when playing with a Bluetooth headset or while casting to a TV
Great bit of nostalgia. Initially couldn't get it to go due to "insufficient memory" despite meeting the listed requirements, however, later got it going which was a relief after dishing out some decent dollars. Lots of fun, stacks of exp grinding which Millenials may not like so much and awesome storyline, something Square always does well and which is the most important RPG element in my books.
Wow i basically bought this for nostalgia reasons. I thought initially $20 was way too high but for how polished the game is and the amount of hours ill get from this game is well worth it. Of course i could of emulated it for free but having a version thats formatted for my phone (Samsung Galaxy runs perfect btw) is much better. Only complaint i can even think of is while the character models have been updated the pre-rendered backgrounds not so much so it can be a little jarring both put together. Load times a little slow between loading changes but i lived threw the time this game was new on ps1 and the load times then were real bad lol. Highly recommended for any Final Fantasy fan. Ive always thought this game was better then FF7. Yes pricetag a little steep for mobile game but this was a ps1 game that came with several discs so youll get your moneys worth nevermind the nostalgia factor is a 10 just hearing the music or the simple sound effect of switching threw menus brought an instant smile to my face. Great job devs best old school port for phone i ever seen. NOW PLEASE DO FFX!!!!!
Such a great game. Is anyone having a problem with the card game though? They don't show any points on the cards. They are all Zeros.
FFIX was my first experience with Final Fantasy, so I'm really happy to see it come to Android. After clocking nearly 100 hours and completing most of the sidequests, I can say it's definitely worth the hefty price tag. The cloud saves are still broken for some reason, but at least the save data can be manually transferred.
Works great, except on my LG tablet. Galaxy 7 edge has no problem running it. Runs smooth and looks incredible in HD. I never finished this game, this will allow me the time to do so given its mobile capabilities. FFXII next PLEASE!!!! If not, maybe on next gen phones? Cheers!

Great, just really awesome. My only issue is with controls during a couple mini-games. Besides that no problems. Currently on what would be disc 3 of the Playstation version. Kicking classic on mobile device? Yes, please! I haven't even checked out the new buffs (?) yet.
