Spectaculator, ZX Emulator for Android
Great Spectrum emulator. I have also purchased the Windows version. However I have a question. In the Android version, how do I load in double sided games that I have put in? So far this is the only issue I'm having with this emulator. Thank you :}
This is, hands down, the best Speccy emulator I've ever used. Very configurable, easy to use, and keeps everything organised. Worth every penny for the full version which allows you to download and play any of the thousands of games on the World of Spectrum website.
You need the full paid version to add your own files .Thanks for hiding that bit of info away on your website's FAQ
The emulator has good on screen controls but I recommend some dedicated controllers or devices like JXD or the clamshell GPD which works beatifully with Spectaculator.
I have this also on my PC, only wish I had the time to re live my past more than I already do.
Won't let me choose my sd card for game storage
Good app but the controls weren't that good
Perfect emulator for my old computer.
Brill just like my childhood
Any chance of Android TV support? Best Speccy emulator I've found, but lack of true gamepad support (reconfiguring keys is impossible without a touch screen) and spotty recognition of own tape images (there one scan, gone the next!) means it's not quite up to snuff for my setup! Great to know my purchase is supporting people like Jonathan Cauldwell though :)
I don't buy a huge amount of emulator apps and usually rely in the free ones but this one is worth every penny. Brilliant on my Nvidia shield portable.
No longer have access to external sd card since I upgraded to marshmallow so can't access my games. Please fix
Best Spectrum emulator I've ever seen. Please consider making it more Android TV compatible at some point, otherwise I love it!
Update: Right now I'm not aware of any problem with this awesome emulator. I'll wait and see what games will future updates add. I'm hoping for Sir Fred, Pyjamarama and Dizzy Collection :D.
Please add support for the awesome Recreated ZX Spectrum Bluetooth keyboard keyboard!
Great fun and would definitely recommend you upgrade to the full version and support the publisher for less than the cost of a pint of beer.
Like a retro dream come true!
Vale a pena dar suporte a esta app com a IAP
some great games.
Be nice to see more titles.
I. Would. Do. Nyan. Cat. On. It
Developers fixed flaws (no +3 and artwork on user added games). Despite IAP element, it is impossible not to like what has become a polished and best-in-class product. This is the only spectrum emulator for Android I could find that doesn't screw up or flicker on the (impressive) Chase HQ +3 attract screens. The best spectrum emu for Android.
This is wonderful!

Generally superb Spectrum emulator with a host of good games available and with the ability for the user to import ZX Spectrum snapshots and tape files widening the range of games available to the thousands. The virtual stick can be fiddly, especially on games that use 8 directions, but I was generally impressed by how responsive it feels. Only one real issue - a number of the games available for purchase insist on using "up for jump" when it would be possible to map the controls to allow a virtual button for jump instead (am thinking of Northstar and Jack The Nipper 2 in particular). Up-for-jump is something we've rightly left in the past, it'd be nice to avoid it where possible, especially where virtual joysticks are being used.
The keyboard is incomplete. So much is missing. Where sin & cos? Where DEF FN & VERIFY? and all the rest? This really needs to be addressed. I am sure it must be due to a smaller screen but still could be better.
Why do you have so few gamepad keys to map? Some games requires much more keys to use. I have moga controller with 12 keys and 3 sticks but i can use only half of them for mappings. Actually for Elite I do not want to use onscreen keyboard I want to map a keys to gamepad. ZX is not a console - it is computer. It has much more keys than 1 joystick. The same for bluetooth keyboard. What should I do to map it to full ZX keyboard? It is ridiculous...
I have purchased quite a few games as it's worth the fees for the beautiful presentation and if it supports the author to maintain ongoing updates it keeps the app alive.
Good app but the controls weren't that good
Fast Play works ok.
This has replaced Marvin on my phone which I used to use. Fantastic to see this Android. One issue is sometimes the sound seems to play oddly. Like there's an echo to it and some distortion. Reloading the tape image usually fixes it though. HTC one x
Though I'm also not seeing Doomdark's Revenge in the list of playable games. Deleted and reinstalled app -- it says Doomdark's Revenge is installed, but still not playable.
Very Slick Product
Please check the problems with buying Doomdark's Revenge. I bought it but am unable to find it in the play list.
This is wonderful!
Doesn't seem to be controllable with wikipad setup whereas Marvin is ok. Looks good but I get the feeling that using your own games isn't allowed as they don't function correctly, though Marvin is OK. You also don't get refund option.
Would you pay for more games when you can get then for free with Marvin?
Should make an option to point to a location on your device where your games are.
Absolutely amazing. Even games not originally compatible with joystick can be configured to. Love it.brings back my childhood

There are many issues I have with this compared to free emulators (I've paid for the full one). 1) Playing Skooldaze, the timing and stuttering it's awful. Another emulator that's free has an alternative timing option that makes it run perfectly. 2) To not have the ability to load from World of Spectrum and to not seem able to use the memory card is a big problem. It states that it will only load the first file in the directory? Really? 3) Why are you charging for games that can be downloaded elsewhere? 4) If I'd known these issues beforehand (not known when using the free one) then I'm not sure I'd have paid for it Please do more updates to this as it seriously needs a good overhaul
