Small General FULL for Android
On my old phone it played well, but since upgrading everything is really small. Unplayable.
If you dig old school Avalon Hill, this is for you. Would love NATO counters.
Ok in truth I had other reasons :) But Small General is the yard stick by which I measure any other tablet wargame out there. Because sometimes it's all about 'did you have fun playing' and not much of any other concern.
Entertaining
This game is tons of fun. My one complaint is that the AI takes FOREVER to take turns. The lower quicker settings are pretty poor opponents, which means to get a good challenge, you have to wait for several minutes between turns.
Would love to see online play.
All the feel of a much bigger war game, in an android sized package. Could use online play facility though.
Great little wargame. Excellent.
Good overall game. Very fun.
Reminds me of the old war game Perfect General on the PC. This is fun!
Once you check out the manual, the game is crystal clear and fun to play. I bought the full version after my 2nd demo game
Random number generator is completely messed, attack and defence numbers aren't predictable. If you're looking for fustration this is your game!
Small boards allow for quick, very challenging games without a lot of scrolling. I like that you can play either side in every scenario.
Fun and addicting game
It's a good game compared to most strategy games you can buy for an app but it gets kinda boring. Not gonna lie it is a good game but it's not addicting. So once you beat the campaign thats pretty much it except for the skirmishes you can do but that being said it's a fun game for it's price and one of the very few actually playable strategy games out there for apps
Why not instead of plugging your other games in the news section you put an in depth tutorial somewhere? What do the numbers mean?I would trial and error it but everything is luck based anyways it's very hard to trial and error. What do the colored triangles mean?I know it means shocked, but what happens when a unit is shocked? Why do some units retreat and others disappear? Why does the dice roll screen jump around? I'm not satisfied. Start by making a better tutorial, then I'll come back. A waste.

Don't let the tiny maps fool you - this game is very addictive. I've already got my moneys worth from this app, and I'll be playing it for a long time to come. Don't care for the new (1.31b) slow AI turns though.

Game is nice and close to my expectations. AI speed should be improved, and as others said AI moves could stay on screen longer to be able and see them and an editor would have been nice.
Finally finished the campaign! I loved every minute. I won battles and I lost even more, but the experience and lessons were an asset in level 10. I eagerly await a future Small General release, and thanks VR!
This is an engrossing war game. Its unique attribute is the ability to execute enveloping manoeuvres. The developers should talk to whomever owns the Avalon Hill IP.
After looking for some Panzer General like action on my phone, this proved to be the best, even if it's not WWII.
Simple but fun basic wargame. AI is reasonable. You can play back the enemies turn but it would be nice if the combat results simply stayed longer so you could see how things are going during the turn. Would be nice if it included some historical scenarios. Playing on Nexus7 without issues.
I love this game. A great strategy game. However a tutorial woulda been nice. Still its well worth paying for the full version
I can tell this would be a fun game, it's just that the combat results screen's back button is broken (for me at least) and i therefore cannot play beyond the first combat result.
Would be 5 stars but the game takes ages to figure out its next move, puts me off to the point of rating it 3 stars. Other than that superb.
Update could use an editor. A bit better on my tablet, but needs new scenarios and an editor. The me update made the AI slower. Makes this game boring now waiting for it to move.
Cannot get past first combat result, as the graphics (back button) are messed up. Same happens in most configurations of SMEF (except the lowest res one). Ridiculous. Update: the problems above happen on tablets (at least on Nexus 10). On my Note II, the games work well.
Should have more scenerios.
Similar to its big brother Advanced Tactics Gold on Windows. I like it and look toward to its continued development. Fast and fun. Update: the April 28 update has made this a much better game. Thank you VR Designs!
AI needs streamlining
Their spelling is at Grade 3 level at best.
Ale jak na moje gusta odrobinę za proste zasady.
Good game. Overall a good game. One bug, if a unit is panicked and hit by artillery it reverts to only being shocked. A reasonable mix of combat units with an array of battle results. Classic wargame feel but could use a battle generator or editor as there are only a few canned scenarios. Clean gaphics and decent AI.
I hope to see added improvements like more terrain types in the near future!
Does exactly what it says on the tin. A cut down wargame that still requires plenty of strategy and totally works
Editor please Update could use an editor. A bit better on my tablet, but needs new scenarios and an editor. The me update made the AI slower. Makes this game boring now waiting for it to move.

Probably works great on a tablet but the designers didn't accommodate phone sizing. Buttons and text are all far too small to make this game even remotely fun.
