Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Classic

Its Sonic 2. Wish the dpad wasn't in a default spot every time and was the kind where it creates the dpad wherever you touch. Also wish I could have some kind of deadzone; seems too sensitive imo (im aware you adjust the size but still). **A nice little touch up they did was improve the graphics in the special stage.

I don't know what's going on, but whenever I try to play the game, everything is in slow motion... The Music and sound effects are all playing fine at the correct speed oddly enough, but all the gameplay and movement is just... Slow. Like its in debug mode or something. I've never had this problem with the Sonic 1 port. And my phone is barely a year old.

Awesome I love sonic 2 and it is my third favorite sonic game. (CDS my favorite) love the game play controls all of it. And I even don't mind the ads. I get it you have to somehow make money from publishing a free app. But the one thing that bothers me on this port is that you need Internet connection just to play it. Because this is one of those games that I would love to play on the go unfortunately I would have to use up data to do that. But otherwise a great game and a great port. ????

Everything seems great until I got to Oil Ocean Zone 2. After that the smooth controls seem to stop working simultaneously; for example, I can't run and then jump. I have remove my fingers from one control for the other to work. This becomes a major issue by the time we reach Metropolis 3 because so many parts of that level require the player to use both buttons at once.

This game was very good port from the original. What I love about this game is that Tails can fly now and added Knuckles in this game and when you complete the game you can select any stage you want to go back to. The online multiplayer was fun to play with friends. I like the fact that Sega added a secret level Hidden palace zone. Seriously my Favorite Classic Sonic ports Sega did so far.

Controls are entirely too sensitive. As a veteran player of this game who has beaten it on Genesis and X-Box uncountable times, it is impossible for me to get past the first Special Stage and even get the first chaos emerald! You can make the controls tinier or bigger but you can not adjust the sensitivity like most games. Annoying.

I love how they are taking these iconic games and making it moblie. But the ads. THE AAAAADS! I pass a zone but then get taken to an ad. That's fine. But then I close the ad and it takes me to the pause menu. I go out of the pause menu AND IT GIVES ME ANOTHER AD. The cycle repeats. Over and over and over. Send help.

Worked great for a while, but now every time I open it, it crashes and I can't play it. I had gotten to the third zone with 3 chaos emeralds and now I can't play. Needs bug fixes. Other than that, everything seems great. While it worked, the controls were fine and it ran smoothly. I want to keep playing, so please fix the bugs.

My controls won't respond sometimes. I'm jumping but then all of a sudden my analog input stops and I fall down a pit of spikes or something. It's a platformer for crying out loud! A FAST platformer! I NEED my JUMP!!!

Fantastic remaster with tons of extras that runs just like I remember it back in my childhood. Unfortunately the ads hamper the experience. They cover the whole screen with a 3 second countdown every time you start and end a round. However it's only $1.99 to remove the ads and enjoy nostalgia at it's finest. Thank you, SEGA. ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Not sure what happened. Since the Sega forever update the controls have been unresponsive half the time. Also it was going really fast. Had to bring down the frame rate to 60fps

Hate it, HATE it, HATE IT!!! I thought I would have a good game, but noooooooooo! All I had was sucky controls, and it kicks me out after that. Just take my advice, get sonic1 instead.

Crashes on start-up 90% of the time, they finally fixed multiplayer but I would have to deal with ads. That would be fine, EXCEPT I ALREADY PAID FOR THE ORIGINAL VERSION WHICH DOESN'T HAVE WORKING MULTIPLAYER! Please either fix the other version or make a option to actually remove ads on this version of you bought the previous one

This is a really great port, the graphics are updated a little and it's very smooth. Controls could use a little help, but that's not why I uninstalled it. I beat this game a hundred times as a kid, but it's just frustrating as an adult trying to play on a phone lol

The game has major, MAJOR slowdown issues. Not the music or any of the sound effects, for that matter, but the visuals. This version of the game is borderline UNPLAYABLE due to this glaring problem, and I know it's not just a problem with my phone. I hate to score this app so lowly as I really do adore Sonic 2 as a game; amazing music, graphics, level layouts (for the most part), and, most importantly, physics. But this app ruins all of that, unfortunately. I would love nothing more than to give this game the 4-5 stars it deserves, but I refuse to do so until this issue is resolved. Awesome to have these old sega games now for phones! Only problem is that I have a Moto G 5 Plus and yet it runs slow (about 0.6 speed). Would be 5 stars if it was normal.

Why is this adpocolips? I hate this version of Sonic 2. The ads. And you need internet to play now? I love Sonic 2 but not this version of the game. You know how people say "I don't think I can go back to the original game" well I just wanna go back to the original game. Now I don't like the game anymore. Now I only like the Sonic 1 remake. Please make it so ads don't pop up all the time and mostly in multiplayer mode. Thanks Sega. ????

I guess if you buy it it'd be subpar due to controls. Unpurchassd it's unplayable with ads interrupting during play. Making it impossible in discerning whether I should buy or not. Maybe place a longer timer per ad interruption so folks can test better whether they want to buy or not. This is a pass for me.

I don't get it. I got the normal and awesome Sonic 2 remaster. Why is everyone complaining about bad controls, slow motion and the game using the Unity emulator? I got none of those. Smooth, Retro Engine, normal touchpad... The ads are bothersome, but they're easy to get used to. The only complaint I have is forced wifi. Otherwise, great game!

I'm a HUGE Sonic fangirl, and when I was eleven years old I played this on a friend's 3DS. I was super excited to find out it had a mobile release so I could download it on my phone!

Great port! One issue, fairly major, in 2P mode, I'll often be kicked out after a round or 2 because of an ad, so I can't play 2P mode proper without paying.

The only bad thing I could say about this game is that the controls can be a little weird at times. Ex. I try to switch my direction while in the air and it doesn't respond to the input, and sometimes when I hold jump the movement control doesn't respond. Other than that 5/5 best game

I love the classics and this is the best. But please make Sonic 3 on this and the 2 final bosses are broken! White head sorry if that's rude please fix the broken bosses

It's nice to play but occasionally during multilayer ads pop up at the wrong time and disconnects the race. Other than that, it is a pretty good remake of the original Genesis title.

The controls are pure whack for bonus emerald stages. They just do not work there, period. I'm sorry, I have to uninstall this plop of a classic game. My nostalgia is way more precious to me.

This game pale in comparison to the original Sonic 2 on the SEGA Genesis. The controls here are awful, the mechanics are slow and stiff. It is like they took away the momentum that Sonic had in this game. I found myself struggling to get onto higher platforms where this same game on the SEGA Genesis it was not a problem. The Special Stage is nauseating, something about this version it is all wrong. The gameplay and movement of the stage is slowed and the controls are slow making it more difficult to quickly get out of away of the bomb bots. Again this is not an issue with Sonic 2 on the actual SEGA Genesis. This port is just bad. The old Nintendo DS Sonic Collection is better than this and that one has awful sound.

Why do you need Wi-Fi to play this when the original came out you didnt? I'll gladly change my review and give more stars if you could just play the game with out using Wi-Fi.

Its a great remaster but the ads make it annoying and you shagged up the special stages. They mess with my eyes and f**k me all up.

Now its fun and all except for one thing. Vs. Mode. Trying to play it is impossible because you can just get a random ad that just disconnects you.

I loved Sonic 2 when I was a kid I still love it now but the controls don't translates well on a touch screen. I really wish there was a small portable Bluetooth controller for games like this. I just can't get used to controls with no feed back.

Fantastic Remaster and blast from the last! But one feature that isnt too refreshing are the controls. Please allow the option to control sonic and friends with a D - Pad

Fantastic retro spectical. Perfectly redesigned, this was my first conceivable memory of a video game as a youngin'. Proud to have in my library. And might I add it has a lot of work put in, and bonus functionality. If you played Sonic 2 like I did, you're going to love this game!

The online is absolutely unplayable in the SEGA Forever release. It will disconnect matches that are about to start or in progress to play ads, and special stages seem to desync way too easily, also disconnecting matches. Previous paid versions had pretty decent online, so it's literally just these two things. Other than that, it's Sonic 2 as you know it, with some nice quality of life enhancements. The difficulty is toned down thanks to widescreen and some gameplay changes, so if you've never legitimately beat Sonic 2 before, this might be your shot!

This game gets 5 stars, and a great review. The controls are fluid, the frame rate is amazing but the ads are ridiculous. After every level a 30 second ad, after every pause? Should just be 1.99 and not even free as an option.

Literally unplayable. The game lags terribly on my 2 month old smartphone which is capable of running all games smoothly, even your first sonic game. But for this one, it runs at a 14 fps and at slow motion making it unplayable

App runs smoothly until you get to the actual gameplay, then it goes insanely slow. Tried changing the d-pad settings to no avail. Loved Christian Whitehead's Sonic 1 build and I will most definitely give this 5 stars if the slow gameplay is fixed.

This is an awesome remaster, but for sometimes the game won't respond to my input whenever I try to move left/right or jump, and sometimes it does it randomly without me touching the buttons. Also a little too many ads. Otherwise, great remaster of a great game

I love this port of sonic 2 there's just 1 problem. When I'm in the menu or certain spots of the game, it slows down. Other then that its amazing.

A great classic over all, gameplay is smooth, graphics are top notch, and the difficulty is perfect. The only problem is the controls of you don't have a controller
