Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Im probably the only one who didnt know this... But i found out that you can fly as playing as both sonic and tails. Just in case that there is a slim chance that someone out there doesnt know, in order to do this,you gotta first play as sonic and tails. Then when your in the game, you look up and double tap jump to make tails fly. Once he starts flying, then you can grab on as sonic when he is close enough. I wonder if this will be helpful for other people...lol

I have beaten the original game literally dozens of times. This version is a faithful and precise recreation of one of my all-time favorite games. The modern feature additions are welcome and appreciated. I notice that this version—which is not an actual port but an incredibly faithful recreation—has a few subtle differences from the original, but if I recall correctly the only ones I noticed were missing bugs such as incorrect collision detection with the environment in a couple of spots. Stunning work!

Like many games of its calibre, Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is absolutely amazing, an excellent buy if you have just over £2 and around 45MB to spare. The graphics are really authentic, the controls are so easy to get to grips with and the gameplay overall is fantastic. HOWEVER, the multiplayer game mode does not work correctly. This is quite an annoyance and requires fixing. Please fix for 5★. As an added bonus, if this is fixed, I will consider paying to buy more Sonic games, but not before this issue is fixed.

Holy Sonic the Hedgehog, Batman! I downloaded this game about 3 minutes ago. For three bucks I thought, why not? But my expectations were super low, especially for the controls. I could not have been more wrong! I didn't even have to think about where to put my fingers and the game is playing *exactly* like the original. Virtually no difference in playability from the Sega original. Man, am I happy.

The definitive version of Sonic 2 for sure! I would have rated it 5 stars if it weren't for 2 player mode crashing when my opponent is selected. I really doubt that will happen as long as the developers are working on Sonia Mania. At least the music is still awesome enough to consider playing the game for hours on end.

Brings back many memories, I'll say! Although I wish I could give this a full five star rating. If it hadn't been for the controls, which I tend to sometimes slip up at since especially, when fighting the bosses, it's kinda hard to see your controls. Plus trying to navigate around, trying to beat the boss and clearing the zone. It's always hard to see the controls and where they're at, also especially hoping not to slip up since they're touch screen controls. Normally I would rather play with a controller.

The only thing I have to complain about the remastered version is that the multiplayer keeps disconnecting and that it often can't even find a game to match me up with someone. This is EXTREMELY annoying and I can't stand that. I want this fixed and this will get 5 stars. Other than that everything else is perfect.

I just can't seem to hit eggman on death egg zone.. I can do the metal sonic with my eyes closed now but as soon as it goes to the big robot it doesn't matter how I do it he instantly dies every time, I wait for him to bend I die, I try to hit under I die. Not sure if it's my phone or not looking at vids on YouTube it shouldn't be so hard!

The port is cool, good graphics, great gameplay, etc. But my game keeps crashing when I try to play a 2P match. I would like to know why this keeps happening with me and my friends. Also some feedback if possible

Both of us are using Samsung Galaxy S6. One player invites the other using Google Play Service. The other accepts and as soon as the game is about to start both of our apps crash. Happy to change review to better stars if this gets fixed.

I don't know if this problem is with everyone or just me but its really slow! I compared it with an iPad 3 and HUGE different and my device has high processing power unlike the ipad3

I found a glitch I thought I'd never find one! Well if u crouch under a object it will not squash u but DONT spindash That WILL kill u! But I found the glitch on domestic cave zone so try it on any other zone such as chemical plant and I think hidden palace! Please don't remove this! Its cool! Plz don't! Found on 3.1.5 oh and WOOOOHHOOOO THIS IS FASSSTT

Taxman and Stealth, you guys have done so much better than do the original game justice with your own engine; it has legitimately been remastered into *the* definitive version of Sonic 2. Any minor nitpick, bug, or unusual AI problems are entirely erased here. Even better that Hidden Palace earned its place as a finished level in the game, after all these years! Everything from the rerecorded music, refined controls and physics, it's better than anything I was expecting. Worth every penny, if not more.

Really awsome but have 1 complaint. Why not bring the other lost content to this game in its full glory? I would really like to play genocide city, desert hill and wood zone! Awsome game though.

It's a good game and because I love the old school Sonic franchise. There is one thing that needs to be fixed, the multiplayer. Me and my friend tried playing it but it kicked us off the app. Can you please fix it?

Absolutely awful. The whole point of me purchasing this up was to play the multiplayer mode and have fun. Instead it crashes every time the level selection screen appears. WASTE OF MONEY!

No complaints from me, Five Stars all the way, although wish I had regular D-Pad and not the circular controls. Also, I've found the hidden level! Play until you get to Mystic Ruins Act Two and head for the bottom of the level. Eventually you'll get to a room with two power ups and three moving boxes. Rings on top left, invincibility on the bottom as a guide. Then, keep heading down until you reach a chasm. Fall into it and beat that level to unlock achievement.

It isnt as fast as I thot it was in the past I thot it too fast. I downloaded it expecting a fast game. Better storyline than mario. Crazy kidnapper not as dangerous as crazy robot maker that enslaves hundreds of animals. Sega made good games I wonder how the advertising missed me while I was young. I hope a "ready 2 rumble" and a new soul calibur is sold towards phones.

Ok so this game is amazing and I love it to no end. However for some reason out of the blue it decided to stop working on my phone. I have a LG L-90 and when i installed the game it worked fine but then it stopped working, i reinstalled it and still nothing, it makes even less sense because sonic 1 and cd work but not this, please fix this and i will fix the rating, edit: works great now

This app has everything the original had. From the codes, to the level design, and something new, only in this version of Sonic 2, the Hidden Palace zone. There is also another hidden level called the Proto Palace zone. THE ORIGINAL HIDDEN PALACE. There is also a secret 8th special stage, and more debug mode potential. This game has it all. It even has Sonic 3 items you can enable via Config menu, or spawn a Sonic 3 item via debug mode. SEGA, if you can add the other cut out levels into the game (at least as a cheat code to enter), this port of Sonic 2 will reign against the Sonic CD port. You have my word.

I'd approved everybody to please purchase asap! I've give game 5 stars!!! I wish there's more bonus stages and fix the hidden palace zone's music to some appropriate music. Nonetheless, keep it up, Sega! Wish you guy remade/remastered Sonic 3, and Knuckles or both together.

This is a wonderful port of Sonic 2 and even manages to add a few extra bits such as the lost Hidden Palace Zone and using Sonic 3 shields (Fire, Lighting and Water) into the 2 player which has even more levels than the Mega Drive version. My only gripe is that not enough people play the 2 player mode so I don't get to enjoy it as much as I'd like.

Crisp and fluid graphics. The main menu is a really nice touch and I love the option to switch between the Japan, US and EU box art. Unfortunately I am not able to connect to the Leader Boards or Achievements. UPDATE: The Google icon at the bottom right of the main menu signs you into Google Play. Once signed in, Achievements and Leader Boards are accessible.

I still have my Genesis & Sonic 2 cartridge from back in the day. Now, I can take my childhood with me in my pocket. Thanks, SEGA. My only complaint is the controls take some getting used to. Also on another note, this is better than any emulation & totally worth the $3 spent on it. Now if only SEGA would port this to Steam so I could play it remastered in full HD on the big screen.

I enjoy the game but the controls arent working properly. I can no longer jump and move at the same time thus I cant press down to do my spin. I plan to do the same rating for the other sonic game as well. Ill give 5 stars if this error is corrected.

Dunno where the 5 stars are coming fromn, the controls in this version are very loose and slippy with no stopping power at all. In other words, you move a stick and across the stage uncontrollably you go!second special stage near impossoble due to lack of vision and feedback as well as random speedups. And ive played the original enough times to know the difference

Please fix this. Doesn't work on my galaxy note 4 with 4.4.4 firmware. A message appears saying that the game has stopped... It's a shame because this is my favourite Sonic game and would love to own it on my phone.. would happily rate it 5 stars when fixed. Sent email and hopping it will get sorted.

I've played your Sonic CD port on Steam a few months ago and loved it, and years ago the romhacks. Just today found out this and Sonic 1 were remade in the same manner and bought them up quick. The new features are a great spin on a classic game. Giving it five stars because anyone who grew up with the games can appreciate the work that was put into these rebuilds. The only issue I have is multiplayer crashing shortly after another player is found. Chalking that up to custom cyanogenmod.

This is now my favorite Sonic game because I can now make Tails fly. I want to keep this game forever. I have all the Sonic games on my PC even Sonic Crackers and Sonic 2 Beta it was great to play them. You could not make Tails fly in these games no matter how hard I pressed the button. I give this game 100 Stars.

Absolutely outstanding and well worth the money. I loved Sonic 2 back in 1994 and this game is a vastly improved version that irons out the bugs and makes it suitable for the modern age. It's exactly like the old game, but with HD, widescreen and it's touch friendly. It has so many more features and new challenges. I only wish that Sega would release Sonic 3 and Knuckles, to complete the collection.

Thanks for fixing the lag bug! Nevertheless I have been messing about with the debug mode, and now I'm off to story. If you're not comfortable with touch controls, use a bluetooth controller. Otherwise, this is a must buy for any sonic fan!

A grest recreation of sonic2. keeps it the same but adds new content and smooth gameplay never seen on the original. It's not easy this game has each zone constantly bringing new concepts and challenges, but also has a simple story about tails and sonic coming together to save the world. I highly recommend buying this game just for the story mode.

I quit the level I was replaying in a finished game with tails and now it doesn't think I've finished anymore. Luckily it was the death egg zone which is the end of the game which I find annoying but very possible. Great game though.

Awesome game. It's a shame that it hasn't been updated for the latest generation of Samsung Galaxy phones. This and many other SEGA titles are not available for the S7. I will give 5 stars when these games are made available for my current device.

Graphics just how I remember them as a kid, fun to play if you can get past having to use your thumbs on the screen instead of an actual controller. Sometimes I would try to get him to jump and he would spin...and vice versa. Got frustrated with it after a while. Still a great game though.
