About VR Cardboard Catapult

Look carefully around the island - there are some angry monster birds attacking you! You have to shoot the birds with the catapult before they reach you. Drag the magnet on the side of the cardboard down to load your shot. You shoot by you let go of the magnet again. (Alternatively you can tap the touchscreen to control the game). This is the first game for Google Cardboard on Google Play!

It´s best to play with headphones, so you will be able to detect from which direction the birds are coming.

Great game! On my Galaxy SII it doesn't run perfectly, but is still plenty of fun, very well made (EDIT: after switching back to stock rom instead of using CyanMod, the game crashes on startup). On my Nexus 4 however, the magnet ring does not work (in other apps it does). If that would get fixed, this app would be a 5 star cardboard game as it looks good and controls well.

As of 2015-Nov-26, this game has a 3.7 rating after dumping the outliers. And now I'm going to hypo the crit out of this review: This game is good as far as cardboard goes, but so many people don't understand the limitations of the medium, and they lack sufficient hardware to play it properly. These are personal problems that are blamed on the developer. Message to 1-star ignoramuses of the world: Learn to take responsibility for your own shortcomings and only rate the _actual_ game and its content.

I just got my SWCardboard and have been going through many games wishing they were more like the actual Cardboard app. The menu layout & the actions are exactly like it which makes me live its simplicity. The graphics aren't super HD like other VR apps but that's the novelty of it & I love it. The birds look more like demons since they have teeth or so it seems. Don't move your head too fast otherwise there is a slight jump glitch but it wasn't noticeable at first. Got to 100 first try, needs harder levels

Great concept, has potential, interesting and original graphics, but the game is currently not very fun. Needs a lot of tweaking before it is truly playable, and the inconsistent magnet issues prove to be a bit of a set back. It seems like a promising beta, but I don't think there should be any cost to use other modes. I would be willing to pay for this game in it's final phase, but it has a long way to go before that point. Update: The magnet won't respond for the first 10-20 seconds of the game, then it will suddenly start working. At this point it will occasionally not respond, about 1-2 out of every 10 attempts to use it do nothing. After about 5-10 minutes of this, it suddenly inverts the actions; when I'm not holding the magnet down, it treats it as if I am, and when I do go to hold it down, it treats it as a release. Inverted behavior. At this point it won't change to any other behavior, so I usually just stop there. The magnet appears to respond fine on any other app I've used that involves it, though.

Simple, but at least it uses the magnet ring. I don't mind lowpoly graphics - i'm actually a fan, but in terms of techical quality they don't seem to be consistent throughout the game's assets. Specially the birds - they seem to have a different style from the rest of the game. Maybe because they're creepy as fuck, nightmare-inducing beasts?

On my Nexus 5, the world seems to evolve in the opposite direction I want to go. The menu is just like that hat in the "Windy Day" movie in the original Cardboard app.

The game updates as I move my head are slow and lagging, giving a nauseating effect. The graphics are very low polygon, do there should be no excuse for this. Best at avoid this until this is fixed.

Looking forward to see how this app progresses. The concept is good but I found it difficult to hit the birds. Perhaps a targeting ring to help with hitting the birds would help, a scanner/radar and some bird variation (who inflict different damaged percentages) are needed.

I like the game concept and the option for both magnet and touch controls. The game would be more fun if there were directions given to the birds like in the hoverboard vr game. Challenge could then come from faster birds and birds moving sideways in different patterns. Also, working with waves or levels and diversity in enemies. This game is missing a sense of progress and the mystery of what will happen next.
