About Hexapawn

This is a deterministic game invented by Martin Gardner, who presented it as a simple demonstration of computer adaptation. Originally designed to be played against a mechanical computer made out of matchboxes and jelly beans. As you play and win, the computer will "learn" from its mistakes, until eventually, it can win every time. To start over you must reset the computer's skill level.

The fun of this game is seeing the computer progressively learn to beat you ever time, which takes about 20 games. This learning is the point! This is not a game in the 'fun' sense. It's about a computer learning. Teaching it might be a bit boring, but if you have the patience to think about what the programmer has done then it's excellent. Challenge: Try to get 7 wins before the computer does.
