About Flightgear Android PFD

Flighgear Android PFD interfaces with the free, open-source Flightgear flight simulator and converts your Android device in a Primary Flight Display (PFD) which resembles closely the PFD available in Boeing and Airbus airliners. This App shows navigation information such as speed, altitude, heading, pitch, roll, vertical speed, close range altimeter, maximum and minimum speeds, DME, ILS, Autopilot settings, etc. It currently supports the following planes: Boeing 777, 747-400,787-8, Airbus 330-200/300, and Airbus 380 planes. Other planes are also supported by using a basic setup which shows basic navigation information such as speed, altitude, heading, pitch, roll, vertical speed, and close range altimeter.

NOTE: Flightgear must be installed and running in a PC.

Overall very impressed. Positives: Works smoothly and has only a slight lag to the aircraft. Setup could not be easier. Only managed to get it confused when doing 'unintentional' aerobatics. An inverted stall and spin to be exact. :-) Negatives I would love to see the option to show in Portrait as well as Landscape. The only orientation seems to be Landscape which is ok but I would really like to see Portrait available (autorotate please :-). Wish list If you had Portrait orientation it would be a nice next step to include the engine data at the top like in the real thing. Adding hotspots along the sides to select display options would also be cool addition. This would almost be a must in the future planned expansion to include MFD functions. If you add being able to customize the display with xml you would have 6 stars from me. Conclusion; For now I give it only four stars due to the lack of Portrait mode and limited customization. I have the feeling this is going to be an awesome addition to flightgear. love using it. Edit:22/08/15; I would still love it working in portrait to better emulate an 8" high by 6" wide display. Any chance a configurable screen?
