This Is Not a Test is a post apocalyptic graphic novel gamebook that pits your survival skills against the mayhem of doomsday as a strange death gas threatens humanity. Like a Choose Your Own Adventure, each panel of this RPG gamebook poses you choices that move the story forward. Create your fate by choosing your own path through the doomsday simulation -- the choices you make will unlock new paths in your quest for survival -- that is, if they don’t leave you dead in the chemical wasteland. Your selection of skills, the items you scavenge, and the survivors you bring will unlock possibilities and set you racing to survive the mayhem of doomsday!

A gamebook by definition, This Is Not a Test mixes RPG elements with a post apocalyptic, Choose Your Own Adventure styled graphic novel. Choosing skills, scavenging items, and bringing companions will affect your quest for survival. All scenes and all of the user-interface is hand-illustrated by amazing comic artist Jeff Edwards, in a gritty, post apocalyptic style. The writing is blunt, pulpy, and cruel, hurling you into the skin of a victim racing for survival in the mayhem of the final moments of humanity. As a gamebook, it is shorter and punchier than its long-winded rivals, with a focus on the amazing art. As graphic novel RPG, its mechanics are streamlined, and won’t have you drowning in numbers. As a survival game, it pushes you ruthlessly toward your eventual demise in the death gas — unless you do something about it.
The End of The World:
Explosions are heard in the distant skies and a terrible death gas looms over the population. An emergency broadcast announces a MANDATORY EVACUATION to the mountain shelter of Fort Eisenhower. Doomsday is at hand! Mayhem is immanent! The way is treacherous, and the quest for survival will be difficult. What will you do?

Your actions in this survival gamebook will unlock choices in your quest for survival amidst the death gas. This is Not A Test is a complex puzzle with a maze of different outcomes, like a Choose Your Own Adventure graphic novel.

Thank you for this really good interactive comic. I like how each combination of 3 skills you picked in the beginning have an impact in available choice later, and there's a lot of possibility of various events even though... too most of them ends with deaths well, for now. Still haven't found a way to save my guy. Anyway, liked your art style. could you add more story in next update? The present one is rather too short considering there is a premium version. Make it possible to survive

Loves the art of the game, well designed story, the compelling decisions, the fact that your skills actually affect your decisions...I get all of the deaths and endings except 2 only, the bring your people out of the waste and sacrifice the weak one.

The buttons don't even respond at beginning you pick 3 skills so I did ok next.... Nothing happened reload nope nothing ?! So now I hit a button that will work Uninstall =) bye bye

Brilliant concepts and ideas, easily maintained my concentration including replays altering my character/route/story path. I would definitely play more of these, save location slots, difficulty selection etc would be nice.

90% of the time there is only one or two choices given to choose from. This is not a choose your own adventure game at all. Every choice leads to death.

Great concept, but trying to get one of the few endings where you survive requires an exact mix of traits and choices that removes any role-playing. There's also strange logic that pulls you out of the game, like doomsday preppers who apparently don't stock their shelters with food or water. Or a military officer letting a shelter full of people starve even though it has a stockroom full of supplies.

This reminds me of those addicting choose your own adventure comics from elementary school, the story can take a u -turn at any moment and the possibility of multiple endings keeps me glued to my phone.
