Pacific Fleet for Android
Am giving this a 3 stars because... 1. I had played Atlantic Fleet too before this which is so much better to control my landing of my shots and others which i rated 5 stars for those. 2. Why remove the damage effects add on? It looked damn perfect on Atlantic Fleet, tell me why? (Unless you tell me that pacific fleet came out first before the atlantic version which got the improvements) However from this the review, i still think this is a good game.
Pros: the graphics are very good, the realism and feel of the game make it a simple but yet fun turn-based shooter. Worth the money! Cons: torpedoes are annoyingly curvy even after upgrades. The enemy seems to know your exact range limit on your guns and torpedoes, thus staying just out side of your range. Starting out at range and never being able to close distant in some matches. The nuke is op but needed to over come above issues while using the submarine. Lastly resetting progress to switch sides sux
This is the strategy game you have been searching Google play for. If this came out in the early 90s on the Amiga, it would have been rated 95% by Amiga Format and you would have gladly forked out 30 quid for it. Then you would have lost weeks playing it, and created a lifelong happy memory. This is a bit more expensive than the usual games on here , but you are getting what you pay for. And for a lot less than 30 quid. Now for Atlantic Fleet!
Really fun game! Worth the money for a no bullsh#t game
I loved the game. I played the Lite version before getting the full version. I have also played it's sequal Atlantic Fleet. If there was one thing that would make the game better would possibly be a revamp using the graphics engine from the sequal. That and maybe more ship classes, more ship sinking events like capsizing, splitting up, and an underwater view. Still though, love the game.
I just wish that there were some more levels or ships. More content in general. Thanks! I've had this game on my iPod since before there was full navigation and single battles. It has really come a long way! :)
Just two observations: Since the torpedoes just disappear at the end of their run a range arc or cutoff line would be great. Also carriers should start out of range of enemy fleets. Oh and the buy everyship & upgrade achievement for USA isnt working. Update: A way to login via facebook/google play and transfer between devices would be awesome, defeated hard usa sub only and my tablet crashed and i had to reload on a new tablet, not looking forward to doing that again
The dev should make one of the world war 1 battleships now that would be good!!!! And even include Russian ships, the pre dreadnought ships of there fleet. Also a world war 1 ship game would have more to it, as there was historically more. ship to ship combat. So yes it would be Very good I would buy it please let me know what you think?
Awesome game!! No Pay to Play. No In App Purchases...Just for that you get 5 Stars. Atlantic Fleet is better cuz you can see the ships sink underwater. I got both just cuz I support ALL PAY TO OWN GAMES...I HATE FRAUD LYING CHEATING SO CALLED "FREE" GAMES. This game reminds me of Battle Ship as a kid. AWESOME GAME. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thanks paul for a great game. I have now completed both campaigns. For those who keep saying you have to buy the upgrades, that is ingame renown, not real cash. It would be nice for some more expansions. Modern war perhaps?
Great game. Love it. The creators need to make another game based in the Atlantic and offer the US, British, vs. The Nazis. Additionally I feel that they should patch this game with more content ie. Parascope view, larger engagements, and even enhanced flight control of the planes.
I've been playing this for a year now and still find it engaging. Might be wishing for a bit more development now but otherwise very cathartic or challenging. Try going up against Yamato with a fleet of destroyers!
If you had a limited number of ships in fleet on each side. Damaged ones go in for repair. And can't be used until repaired. Sunk are lost. Factory making bigger better as time passes. US. More output of course. The game would go from an 7 to a 10*
This is a great game. I have been playing it for a long time and never had a problem. The devs gave put alot of time into this game. The only downside is I dont think it is worth the money. You should either lower the price or add a an Australian campaign.
Its fun, looks great and has a rewarding feel with each successful mission. 3 massive issues: torpedoes are duds too often, the island targets are incredibly difficult to hit (even with radar on arcade), and no means or explanation on how to aim with bombers
Controls are not intuitive. Manual unhelpfull. Deteted it. Didn't get a refund. Installed it again. Struggled a few more hours. Finally it starts to make sense. But it plays more like eight ball than a wargame. Most of game time is devoted to putting the high explosive 8 inch ball in the corner destroyer.
Many ships of the same class could be added just by changing their names, tired of sinking over and over again the same 5 ships. Keeping the progress in both campaign would be a plus.
When they see you they just away and you can never catch them up. They also seem to know even when you have a sub nearby. Its very annoying.
Just like Atlantic fleet so people can see ships sinking for a longer amount of time and so you can see more details of the submarines
Very good game, definitely buy and install. Needs save game slots. More missions needed. Battles with more than 3 ships.
I really love Pacific Fleet, but for a paid game, I think it could have a little more. 1:when shells hit ships, there should ne holes or visible damage than just an explosion and fire. 2:You should make it fair and add a submarine for the Japanese and add another battleship to the US. 3:when ships sink, thre should be an effect when the final explosin balsts, a massive hole should appear and the ship split in half. I hope to see these in the next update. Thanks!
Love the sinking feature and really good graphic also u should add some modern day ships andmabie a helicopter :-)
I payed for this game, it's a great game but it does not give me my points at the end of the war so I can upgrade new ships......
Good balance, dud rate and torpedo drift can be frustrating but are a part of the upgrade path. Idk why people are complaining. Was the sub historically unable to reload a all of its of torpedos or is the one reload every three turns a balance issue? Could the reload 3 count start after the first torpedo is fired?
Everything about this game is perfect accept the nuke first of all its really op and the animation for it looks really bad.
Look at AF and you know what I mean because some essential things are simply missing or laying on the bottom of the Pacific to rust! No this one misfired completely. Are you gonna take care of it? A unsatisfied customer!
great sim. best played on a larger screen. my htc desire c is too small, but im addicted to it. I have to give it five stars. brilliant. congratulations to its developers :)
Nice game , addictive, attractive graphics and easy to get used to. The unity engine is prefect here. That being said it could do with a few more ships being added and bigger battles. Overall though a good buy
And this is true a gorgeous game that is very fun and addicting and definitely one I would recommend & this is a simulator so all the complaints on dud torpedoes was actually very factual in the early pacific campaigns. And it basicly starts off with subs to get familiar with the game takes a little patience but worth it in the end.
Awsome game best navel combat ever need more battles game is perfect was frustrating in the beginning but after a while its great please come out with a atlantic fleet with same graphics also make battles a little harder if I could I'll make a 10 star thank you
THIS GAME IS AWSOME AND FUN!!!!!!! The only thing I ask is to add visual damage and ships breaking in half and sinking and blowing up into a million pieces!!!! Also an ATLANTIC FLEET would be awesome along with a multiplayer mode. Also could you PLEASE ADD THE U.S.S ARIZONA. it would be awesome to have and its a match against the Japanese KONGO. Please think about it!!!!! Thank you!!!!!!
I love naval simulator games and I can never get enough of them. Usually they are only found in pc gaming. But here I am having the most fun on a naval game on my phone. You guys did a fantastic job making this game. But there are two minor problems I have with it. The random ship placement and the island attack missions are pretty weak. Just figured I would add how the radar mod is pretty much mandatory. What is worse it also robs the game from the challange of range finding.
Had some problems with targeting first, after sorting it out give it four stars now. Could do with more ships and battle with more than three ships. Island missions are boring and tedious, could really do without them. Playing on a phone is also frustrating sometimes because of small buttons with some response problems. On 10" tablet it is quite good though. Making the buttons float would be of great help on small phone screens. No IAP is also worth an extra point. Well done Killerfish.
The game is great. The torpedoes are bad but american torpedoes were terrible for the first few years of ww2 so i think it really makes the game more accurate and realistic . Graphics great and really fun.
I have tried a number of similar games and this one is great for two reasons: 1) Game play is good and historical accuracy is pretty decent as well. 2) Not one of those ever-to-be dammed "freemium" games. No greedy and annoying in-app purchases!
Great game, really bad at describing how great it is. Turn off the music and listen closely to ships on fire and you hear the alarms going off. Listen to a sinking ship and hear the groaning creaking metal. Beautiful.
An excellent game , provided you remember it is a tablet app of <100 MB and not a PC game. Pros: *Stunning, gorgeous visuals and beautiful ships. *Well thought out surface combat; detailed modeling of ship buoyancy and gun combat. * Addicting and fun. Cons: * ASW and air warfare is not impressive. Submarines can only be attacked with gunfire (!) and cannot submerge below periscope depth. The traditional destroyer tactic of ramming a sub is impossible. Dive bombing is too easy because the ship does not maneuver. Also, no fighters. * All conflicts take place at the naval version of knife-fighting range, so it is possible for a destroyer to torpedo a battleship, or a battleship to mission-kill a carrier, on their first moves. The most critical component of naval combat -- range -- is almost nonexistent. * For this reason the most powerful unit in the game is the battleship, not the carrier. Like the carrier, the battleship has enough range to hit any target in the playing field. Unlike the carrier, it remains fully functional at all times unless actually sunk.
Typical game where the computer has the advantage of cheating. Controls are sloppy and completely inaccurate. You blow up all enemy planes on an island, but they still manage to launch planes ??? Enemy ships seem to have 3 times the range, no matter what ship they are firing from. Torpedoes drift in the opposite direction as the wind and water is moving, which is physically impossible, making this game totally unrealistic. Total waste of money. GAME SUCKS !!!
Excellent production. Creative play and endless replay. One of a kind, worth every penny. The physics alone make every battle really fun and unique. This game (more like a sim!) came out of nowhere as a really pleasant, rewarding surprise. Dud torpedoes easily fixed by earning upgrade.

There is no damage to the ships. They just sink. Fires always appear in the same place. Never where shells hit. The illumination shell never activates. I don't enjoy only being able to have one save game at a time. I'd like to keep my american fleet and start another as the Japanese instead of erasing everything first. More ship classes would be nice. The game is awesome. I love it. But it just still needs some work. Keep up the great work devs. Its sure to keep getting better.
