interestingly, i kept losing lives at times when the turtles were nowhere near the lines i was making. half of the "power-ups" in new era mode are actually penalties (less time, sped-up turtles, slowed-down crabs, or it just flat out removes some of your lives at random). the music is kind of irritating. honestly, it almost feels like the game has a grudge against the players.
