Every time the cpu starts to think, my phone starts heat up. I do like one thing a lot; that is, the cpu tells you what openings you are playing as your playing your pieces. Fix the heat issue; the cpu is processing way too hard. Every other chess game I play on my phone doesn't heat up.

This app is incomplete, needs user interface improvements. Update: Froze my system several times. Asks me a dozen times to rate, which tends to make me subtract a star with each nag. Freezing got worse, started melting my battery. Had to uninstall, regrettably. By the way, "purchase openings" is a pretty creepy way to ask for money. Just charge for a full version, you'll do better.

Weird app that won't allow purchasing openings...worthless. However, it does work on Amazon AppStore. Accidental discovery that my paid-for Amazon version works w/o having to install it's 100mb Amazon App. Now that I got it back working after 4 months, I'm changing my 1 star to 5 star as half a year searching for a better chess opening android app and this is all I got or need at the moment. Doesn't replace a dedicated book on the opening you want to learn: there is a system of play around openings.

Fix for 5 star rating. Update 2016: still useless.

I purchased the openings for $ 3.99 and its asking the money again second time and i loose my all openings. I need my money back or provide me my all openings

Works good. Complete ECO openings available. Seller responded quickly to my question. One suggestion to developer is to tweak the UI a bit.

Excellent and intelligent software but many times CPU starts thinking,game booster inbuilt feature is required.

Very useful. It took a few minutes to figure things out but it's lessons are effective nonetheless

If you want to run through the first 5 moves of obscure openings you have no idea the prevalence of in real play, this is the app for you. But you certainly won't learn anything about playing openings or chess. Now if it were attached to a database of professional games and it showed percentages played, won, lost, drawn, it would have some use. The openings provided in the free version, by the way, are an insultingly tiny fraction of the ECO. Amateurish all around.

Very nice way to memorize and practice a comprehensive set of openings. Very interesting how it integrates the opening end with a real game with a reasonable chess engine. This is a great app which could easily get 5 stars. There are however two problems. Firstly, there is a bug: when you buy openings it sometimes forgets you bought them and you need to periodically clean app data or reinstall the app. Secondly, many of the openings seem to be less deep than the ones in the ECO. Keep up the good work!

Good program, but database purchases get lost often. Annoying bug - I lose any user added variations within a day or two, making that function (an important one) useless - can only give 3 stars. Even the dbase problems wouldn't have stopped me from using this program, though. There is no other, better, chess opening program for Android that I have found.

I tried using this on an LG g3, and it might work for about 30 seconds before the whole thing hangs. I had to take battery out to restart the phone because it's just one big memory leak. Completely unusable. needed more QA before shipping, for sure.

I cannot purchase any openings (click on them but no response), therefore I get no use out of this. The concept looks great, though

The databases are lost quite often, forcing me to re install. Including the ones I added by hand. The price is not that outrageous... Please fix database bug

I had the latest version installed on Nexus 7. I like the software but unfortunately for me it was buggy.

i lke it simply because its not like the gamalab version you can still continue to play after u completed d oppening the engine s not too sromg but still good

This app is an excellent tool for studying the opening. I have been able to master many chess openings by using this app. You will always find an opening that you will love to learn on this app.

Do not, I repeat do not purchase this worthless app. It is NOT a substitute for a book on openings. How can this be worth anything when many of the openings only go 3 moves deep??? Only a very few go into any detailed length. What a waste of $$. The whole point is I don't want to experiment after 3 or 4 moves and find out the hard way that I made a mistake in the opening. I thought this would be far far more inclusive than just a brief summary. What a ripoff.

I just paid for complete database which is useless. I have some free and paid apps on my devices, and certainly this is not a good one. It is not complete and any opening I tried has 3 or 4 moves. There is no variation. Useless. I want my money back.

You have to purchase if you want more openings. SCAM. Don't like being lied too. Buy Chessbase Online openings app which will save you money and you will have a better app anyway.

Gameplay following opening maxes out cpu doesn't yeild and crashes phone. Difficult to select and move pieces.

Give some lectures about it for us it becomes like chess school

Too hard to tap pieces. I have to try to tap the piece several times before it is selected. I'm sure it would be a great program if only it were usable. Uninstalled.

Had some problems installing databases. No indication how good/bad an opening is. Other than that it's a very good game!

Very useful app... however I have to uninstall and reinstall daily to get all of the purchased openings to come back. Very annoying please fix. I am on a stock galaxy s3
