Crusader Kings: Chronicles for Android
As someone with over 1500 hours in the PC game it's safe to say I'm a fan. I knew not to expect the same depth from this and was hoping for a casual distraction but this is way too short with little to no replayability. More stories or more characters and more possible endings then maybe but at the moment it's not worth your money. I regret my purchase.
I love CK2 thats why I bought his game. Im disappointed that the stories are so short. Choices are good though but still the price of the game doesnt match up with the game itself. So disappointed.
Very short for $5. It was kind of fun, but was nothing compared to CK2. CK2 for $30 and hundreds of hours of gameplay or Chronicles for $5 and 30minutes..... Buy Banner Saga instead. Kind of wonder if this is what Paradox had a coop student or intern work on......
Way too overpriced for what you get. Would refund if I could.
The game is too short. Otherwise it's great. I finished in under an hour.
There are parts where it's all left to chance and won't allow you to progress if you fail.
It's alright. But don't go for it unless you're a dedicated fan of the series.
Could use some TLC
Too short and this is why google should put like an hour limit before refunds expire if the game ends in a hour its they developers fault
I read into this game before buying it and I love crusader kings 2. So I thought this might be fun when I have some downtime at work. It's an interactive story basically but what you do seems to have a minimal effect on real major decisions. Not worth getting alot better free games out there.
CK2 is, at its heart, a game about stories. The game might be writing them itself, but that time you had to drown the Bishop of Worcester in his bath so you could change the inheritance laws to favour your heir will stay with you forever. So Paradox's foray into interactive fiction needed strong writing to live up to that, and there it succeeds. The game elements feel quite minimal though, and ultimately it feels like a Choose Your Own Adventure book. It’s a good one, but expensive for how long it is.
This app seems like it would be fun, but it constantly crashes on me. Also, the interface is slow/laggy. $5 seems like a fair price to me...if it worked! *edit* this app was crashing on me when I had the font set to the "Garogier," but appears to work using the other fonts. Will re-rate after I finish the story
As a CK2 fan, I decided to give this game a shot. It provides an hour or two of entertainment, and the story is well written, but it's simply too short (even with different choices) to justify the five dollar price.
Has a few typos here and there. Note to Paradox: If you get Michael to accept the marriage proposal, it's impossible to get your courtliness high enough to have a legitimate heir. If you would remove the cunningness increase that involuntarily occurs just before you return back to the keep, and make it so that you can have a legitimate heir with just 2 courtliness, this problem would be solved. I've spent probably 10hrs trying all the different options; so I know what I'm talking about.
Poorly designed, arbitrary, with a perfectly fine and wonderful story... strangled in its crib by poor execution. This game sucks, is far too short, and is in a sentence only worth purchase for what it gets you in the real game on PC.
I'm a big fan of the Crusader Kings series. Playing this mobile game was like playing the actual games at times. I played through this twice and gameplay is between 2-3 hours for one play through. This is story driven kind of like crusader kings 2. I recommend for fans of the series.
Gods I hate RNG. If you do too, avoid this, because you'll be annoyed every 5 minutes that you picked the wrong choice 10 minutes before. Go buy one of Choice of Games' works if you want something like this, but way, way less arbitrarily frustrating.
Excellent way to spend a few hours. A lot of fun, and it certainly has a lot of potential if you intend to add new stories.
The game is too short. Otherwise it's great. I finished in under an hour.
I'm actually surprised how it turned out. Pop-up events just like CK2. The story is enjoyable. Not much to it though. Probably a 1 play through, unless you want to explore every option.
It costs way too much to be as short as it is. I don't feel much desire to play through more than once either.
Hopefully this is still a work in progress. tl;dr: Good story but too short, with a clumsy application/interface. Not worth the price. Pros: + The writing is reasonably good. Cons: - It wants access to your Contacts for push notifications. - Important characters are not introduced. We literally have no idea who Lady Isabel and Sir Bertram are, and they are main characters. They appear out of nowhere. - It is only nine short chapters. You can play through in 40 minutes. While there is some replay value, $5 for 40 minutes is expensive. - The page-turning mechanic is slow and inconsistent. We tried on two separate devices - and HTC A9 and a Nexus 7 - and on both we had to try and try again to turn the pages. - The pages bleed into focus, which is slow and annoying, especially when you are trying to advance past a portion that you have seen many times before, likely because you have died at the hands of the random number generator. Other ~ There are other e-books available for $3 each. We have no idea what these are. These are still locked even though we've finished the main story. Are they more stories that use the same engine? Are they separate e-books? Who knows?
Reading this, with all the events and choices literally makes it feel like I've been placed in a ck2 game, and I love it! PS: My first game was game over
It's pretty fun, but the RNG really gets me at times. If you like CYOA games, and like ck2, pick this up.
Too short and this is why google should put like an hour limit before refunds expire if the game ends in a hour its they developers fault
Way way to expensive for what you get !
Just not at all worth the price.
It's OK.
I have about 400 megabytes of space, but it won't install. It never gave an error message, it downloaded but didn't install.
