Contrast for Android
This game requires license verification over the internet. Unacceptable. No way to game offline.
It's crashing a lot but love the game though.
I can't give a good review because it's unplayable on my Shield tablet. Freezes before I'm out of the first room, severe controller lag (seriously, the Shield controller is a wifi direct product, you shouldn't be seeing any at all.) It looks nice, and seems to have a good story from the trailer. It's time for a bug hunt though.
When I first booted up the game on my Shield K1 tablet, the lag was so bad it force closed shortly after beginning the story (I hadn't even left the first room yet). I restarted my tablet, and now not only does the game heat up and lag my device, I can't even play anymore because the license check fails every time (the lag and heating of device begin immediately upon launching the app). My internet connection is solid, so that's definitely not the issue. Uninstalling for a refund. Might try again if all of these issues are fixed. Too bad - it looked like a fun game.
Update; The game has been patched, and no longer crashes out to the home screen like it used to on the SHIELD TV Pro, back then with no error messages. The entire "hub" used to reload as it did so, so at the time I thought that it may be related to the game choking up the memory or something and Android garbage collecting it all. It were the same deal with Resident Evil 5 I noted, a game I haven't tested to see if patches have fixed. It also failed to perform properly back when I initially wrote my feedback for the game, and were far from running at a stable 30 frames per second, but this has been improved greatly as well. Good job, NVIDIA! It's worth noting that initially the game did feel a bit choppy, but after playing for a short few minutes, the game started performing perfectly fine. Taking a guess it is loading in assets into memory in the background, causing some choppiness. With the patch in place, I highly recommend this game for any SHIELD (TV) owners. A fun indie puzzle-platform game with a pretty unique mechanic and decent story to follow.
Updating my previous review: The latest updated fixed all of the stability problems on my NVidia Shield. I highly recommend buying this if you like unique puzzle-ish game play and a compelling story.
Looks and plays great on shield tablet! Simply stunning from an aesthetic and design standpoint. Brilliant level design and mechanics combined with a heart felt narrative. Highly recommended! -had no issues with crashing, running marshmallow 6.0.1
Fantastic game, but Nvidia made it SATV exclusive and cant play it on my Shield Tablet....and after seeing how good Doom 3 performs on the tablet, they probably only made SATV compatyble to boost sales of SATV...update: thank you for making it compatible!!
Purchased this but after validating licence, it force stops, there's no cache to clear it just doesn't work
Loved playing it, but it's over in a flash. Not worth the cost. More like a demo
This is a deal breaker for me! Can't upgrade to 6, and can't get a refund because it took so long t download, and there's NOTHING on the store page about the system reqs. Please refund this!
Played through it twice on pc and will do again on tablet. Works perfect for my nvidia shield k2
I'm having a blast. Thanks Contrast Dev team for taking the time to make a Shield port. I'm in love with this game.
I am now able to download the application and enjoy it on shield i forgot to change the review!
The game launches, gets to the menu and crashes after choosing the new game option. It says saving, saved then proceeds to validate the license and crashes immediately thereafter. I request the concerned devs to rectify this issue ASAP as this is quite an expensive purchase. Once it's done, I shall upgrade my rating.
Pretty unique game. Excellent graphics and gameplay.
This would have been a very very good puzzle plattformer with a very nice art style and story. But, alas! It falls into the trap a lot of games with jump mechanics fall into. The controls are not good enough to sustain the puzzles. What's even worse is that it attempts to do traditional jump&run sequences with controls which are not good enough. If you can put up with some frustration(i.e. trying and failing a timed jump after having figured out what you are supposed to do) then you should give it a shot. It is nice and it is charming. But it controls badly. And that is my experience using an actual controller.
This is getting embarrassing; another NVIDIA Lightspeed Studios release that crashes out to the home screen on the SHIELD TV Pro, no error messages. The entire "hub" seems to reload as it does so, so I guess it may be related to it choking up the memory or something of the device and Android garbage collecting it all. Same deal as with Resident Evil 5. It also fails to perform properly, and are far from at a stable 30 frames per second. Come on, NVIDIA, you got to do better than this for your own platform, with your own released ports. Optimize, give us graphical options, and tone these titles back ever so slightly on the visuals. If anything, "Ultra" can be as-is, and the default can be toned back to "High". Sending a Feedback via the SHIELD TV Pro as well, hopefully it can help locate the issue.
The game itself is fantastic. Unfortunately you don't actually get to play it long before you get booted to the home screen with no error to report. Incredibly unstable.
Game is unstable. Constantly crashes on Nvidia Shield TV. Literally at every new cutscene. please fix.
Runs horribly on shield tablet.
One of the best games I have played so far on my Shield TV.
Crashes to the home screen every 15 mins, though enjoyable while it lasts.
Fun game about light and shadow with very unique gameplay. Surprisingly challenging.
No thanks, sticking with Lolipop. Not like I'm still on Kitkat or anything. Not worth crippling my tablet with Marshmallow. Lol! I'll be keeping my $8, thanks. Nvidia is a joke and will remain a joke with software distribution and hardware compatibility.
I been unable to download contrast since purchasing it sometime today a hour or 2 ago. It often gets stuck at a certain random percentage like up to 19% I do have a high speed connection of 50mbps and i did factory restore my shield TV to solve the issue but it has not. All other applications download fine but this one. At this time my one star is simply to get the head sup to the developer and does not reflect my experience with the game so far

Worked fine on Shield ATV although I hoped the game to be a bit longer.. :-) When I tried the game first on Shield tablet, I also got the license validation error. Curiously the check started passing after I disabled developer options. I couldn't reproduce this consistently so this might be just a coincidence..
