Wayward Souls for Android
I actually miss this game when I don't play it for a while.
Great
Wayward Souls is right up there with the original Plants vs Zombies for mobile game quality. The game is lovingly crafted and content rich, the art is gorgeous, controls are smooth, and gameplay is highly replayable, skill based, and fun. Wayward Souls is a rogue-like with a series of massive dungeons to conquer. Death is permanent but not meaningless. The coins you collect can be used to purchase character upgrades. The game also has an intricate overarching plot that is drip-fed to keep things interesting. Be warned, this game will keep you on your toes and gets difficult at the higher levels.
Easily one of the best mobile games I've played. Gameplay and graphics resemble games like secret of Mana and link to the past. Progress requires skill, learning each enemies move styles and planning ahead. Upgrades come cheap and extremely helpful at first and then require the player to master each character for longer runs to gain more coins. It's fun, challenging, great graphics and soundtrack. Highly recommend.
Unplayable with touchscreen controls, at least for me. Looks like a great game, but I'm dead after 40 seconds on the first level every time. Difficulty settings maybe?
I know the appeal of the game is the difficulty/replayability. But for a mobile game especially, repeating the same level over and over until you can afford to upgrade grows old quickly.
Amazing game, and always fun to replay. Tough but fair with great control. Just unfortunate no more updates. Wish the original devs would still finish making the paladin class.
Plays like Zelda or Gauntlet. Just one thing... Bluetooth controller support!!! Please it would make my life complete!
Can't play this game on Nvidia Shield TV. You can play the tutorial no problem, but as soon as you die and/or get to change character, you get a black screen with the background music playing, and no way to interact with the game. The game isn't frozen however, because trying to use the back button to quit prompts the in-game menu verifying I'd you really want to quit. Force quitting and restarting the game, as well as clearing cache/data does not work. I'm angry I spent money on this game and even liked the tutorial, only to have it be unplayable
Good overall game sucks you can't save your progress but everything you earn on your character hats gold coins stays.
Guys let me ask you something about pricing. Here me out. Bloons TD has a million downloads, and it's selling for 1 dollar. Now this game is obviously far, far more than Bloons TD ever will be. I'm going to do the math. Even if you sold this at 10 dollars, 50k downloads is about half a million. It's not an insult, but Bloons made a full million. Now, barring what something is valued, and what it should cost, let me just ask you this, if the game was released at a dollar, and began to circulate through the community, wouldn't it earn more? I understand its worth more than a dollar, but I'm looking at the total tally here, you guys deserve so much more attention, and let me just say this, even if all 50k downloads paid what was proper, you have to imagine 50k heads in schools, homes, trains, buses, backseats all over the world playing your game and the exposure that gives. At a dollar your heads and total eyes on target blow up exponentially. Look Im sure you guys have thought of all this before and decided on principle and the classic approach to pay apps. You didn't do any ads or iap and you're a cutabove. I'm looking at accessibility here. Data Wing was released for free, and already has triple the downloads of this game and has no ads or iap either. Their game is totally free. I'm trying to find a place between the high quality of Data Wing and its success, without its altruism and the hohum targets out there like Bloon that get more money. Geometry Wars 3 has 10000 downloads here and costs 10 dollars.... there's no way they wouldn't have made bucket loads more if they did what I'm saying here. I know the brain just doesnt like the idea, but its about the end goal. Geometry Wars at 10 dollars gets 10k downloads, it'd be up in the 50 millions if it was even a buck. Guaranteed. So when you park the whole idea that yeah, the game deserves to cost more, and just let the market flow, it will actually get that goal met in its success, instead of just its sticker..... please note, I've bought this game myself five times on different devices, accounts and as gifts for friends. I know the value you're offering here, so please note I am not saying it isn't worth every cent. It just deserves all the cents.
The Best Game ever to come to phones Huge fan love yall love the games cant wait for death road to canada My 2 cent this needs a co-op dungeon but even without its 5 starz from
Akin to a mobile Dark Souls. Very challenging to the unprepared player, yet very rewarding. Nice set of classes and a great soundtrack as well.
This is must be one of my favourite games on Android but I feel like it's missing something, more meaningful upgrades that are more balanced and more secrets would be a nice start. Still, keep it up devs, I hope you will make this game better before you make pc port. Much love
Love it and looking forward to to pc release
Well balanced and ideal for mobile phones. I bought this as well as DRTC today and both are great.
This game is hard. It's also beautiful.
Probably one of my favorite games
By far the best game of its genre on mobile. Really has an old-school feel, including the fact the game has zero iaps or ads. For the price you get a ton of content. You can approach this content any way you want. I've logged more than 40 hours, still trying to beat labyrinth as warrior, haven't even tried the other 5 classes yet.
Absolutely loving the game. It saves my progress in the dungeon between my morning and afternoon commute. The controls are good, and take just a little bit of getting used to. Obviously, a controller is better. The visuals are good, the souns is good, and best of all, no IAP. I cannot stress how good it feels to find a complete game i can with or without internet. My only con is that all the characters have the same "ouch" wound effect. Weird having a female character go "oof" lile the burly male one. Buy it if you enjoy a challenge, collecting, dungeon crawling, and a pleasing gameplay experience that can be picked up anytime.
Great fun game with a ton of replay value, the different playstyle of the characters adds a lot of variety. My one complaint with the controls is the while using a DS4 controller there doesn't seem to be a button to access the pause menu, which is irritating have to do so using the touch controls for one specific action. Other than that fantastic. Please fix the pausing issue on DS4 controllers.
This game is one of my top favorite games on the play store and is properly your to hears you. 1.Retro graphics. 2.Game map layout always changing on each floor level and is never the same. 3.Six playable characters with different play styles and multiple skill upgrades. 4.Each character has its own story in the game. 5.Levels are fun, challenging and never seem repetitive. 6.So many hats to collect. All in all well worth $6.99 you won't be sorry I know I'm not.
At first I didn't like the game - touch controls make playing accurately very challenging. There's no difficulty level, so things get very hard very fast. Then I got a controller (moga power pro) and the game became great. I've been enjoying it since.
The game itself is loads of fun and very challenging. Definitely recommended on that front. Points deducted because it crashes pretty regularly in my Nvidia Shield K1 (a few times a day). Crashing means starting the whole dungeon over. The touch controls are also quite finicky, and given the difficulty of the game this can lead to some pretty frustrating unnecessary deaths. Overall the game is a lot of fun but the technical problems are annoying.
It's got a good amount of depth, and it will challenge you. A good game, and I don't just mean "good for a mobile game". Also check out Mage Gauntlet: same folks, linear story instead of rogue-like.
Decent looking game visually. Gameplay was a little clunky for me though, and I felt the difficulty was too high considering the controls. Not really rogue like enough for me either, the random variables made little impact to decision making.
Worth the price of admission! A great Action RPG adventure! If you like or love Secret of Mana, Legend of Zelda[classic 8/16 bit] or any of the SoulBlazer series then you are very likely to enjoy this game! Seems to have full HID support, meaning that it will detect and use USB, Bluetooth or built-in controllers by default. For those without physical controllers the touch-screen interface, while not perfect, gets the job done. Devs are actively working on improvements and additions. They are also actively listening to their fan base for input. The game does have it's flaws, be they ever so minor. However none of those flaws will seriously detract from enjoyment of this most excellent game. Purchase with confidence that you will get more than your money's worth of fun!
Worth every penny. The only thing i wish could be changed is the gender of the player or maybe a hero customization option after you beat a hero types story line. Every noodle cake game i have played os amazing and is a shineing example of how all game designers should take pride in their creations. Also has bluetooth phone game pad support. This game really does have everything.
Bought it since its 99 cents at the moment. Heard plenty of great things about this game, I can say for those things where correct. The enemies, the music, the way it looks. Ive died 6 times and yet I continued to go back again and again, eager to redeem myself. Wayward Souls is amazing.
I got this game on sale for $1 and I'm happy except the controls. I'm very shocked to see this game doesn't have no in app purchases or DLC scams from these developers. The controls need some work when using an OTG cable via PS3 controller/Bluetooth controller is horrible and felt sluggish as well.
I honestly am quite disappointed. I don't see any reason why I should continue each play through. Skills don't mean anything to me. I enjoyed mage gauntlet so much more than wayward souls due to its poor rogue like system...
Fantastic game. Just the type of gameplay I've been waiting for on mobile. Not a fan of pixel art games, but the gameplay/controls still makes this enjoyable. Would love to see a more modernized graphic overhaul version!
It's okay. I was expecting more of a Zelda inspired game than a roguelike, honestly I almost instantly regretted buying this and got so bored after the first run, I could only play for about an hour. I'd like to see improvements on an inventory system; you boast about procedurally generated levels like you invented them, but they're well traveled at this point. This is just missing something. The ability to find new gear, upgrade it, maybe retain certain items after death like in Enchanted Cave might help. You could still enchant gear at altars, and mesh item persistence into the reawakening story pretty easily.
The combination of music and art create an emersive setting. But, the contrast of dark browns and blacks with the harsh yellows is an eyesore in some floors. The gameplay is quite good -- its challenging but not impossible. I found the tutorial to be ineffective, as it taught controls, but didn't give me any idea what to do. A text box saying "try to survive as long as possible" would be good. Overall decent game. I wouldn't pay the full $12 price but great value for the $1.59 sale price.
If you like The Binding of Isaac or dungeon crawl games, this is the perfect app for you
My favorite game on the play store. Best purchase I have made!
Mechanically and aesthetically superb.
I love it.. the different skills... different characters... it's easy to play yet challenging to beat...
you get so much content. the price is worth it.
