About Trainyard

Trainyard is a puzzle solving game unlike any that you've ever played. It's easy to learn but very tough to master. Your job is simple: get each train to a goal station. Red trains go to red stations, blue trains go to blue stations, etc. You control the trains by drawing track for them to follow. There isn't a time limit or even a score; the only thing you need to do is figure out a solution for each puzzle.

The first few puzzles are almost too easy, but as the difficulty increases you'll be thankful that you were able to practice the fundamentals of drawing track. As the game progresses, you'll have to use colour theory to combine trains of different colours, use timing to merge and split trains, and use every inch of your brain in your quest to beat the game.

What are users saying about Trainyard

by T####:

As others have pointed out, this game is much better on iOS; there's a level editor and a link to the online community which links you in with other users' puzzles as well as allowing you to upload your own. Another useful feature is being able to run very long puzzles at high speed that is missing from the Android version. I love Trainyard but I could only give this 5 stars if I didn't realise what I was missing out on compared to iOS users.

by K####:

This game has a lot of puzzles, and if you like the core concept, it will definitely entertain for a long time. I would have liked to see more mechanics and more diversity in levels, but for a one man job with this amount of content, Trainyard is a solid, sleek and entertaining puzzle game. Well worth the prize!

X70%
by X####:

Best game I've played on a phone. It makes you think and there is always a solution. For anyone having trouble with the levels not loading, install the game on local drive rather than a SD card.

I can work for a few minutes our much longer if I have time. My work is saved. After a few tutorial puzzles, many require a fair amount of noodling.

X70%
by X####:

Not too complicated but requires some thinking and planning along with some trial and error. Incredibly satisfying to watch the plan come together.

This game is awesome but it would be nice to have it updated. To atleast use the google games cloud save feature. Its been a pain in the arse to move this game from phone to phone and preserve the game progress.

Really excellent game!! Could not stop playing. All I want is more puzzles!

After completing trainyard express I wanted to complete this game too. But, I don't see any levels. The level selection is just blank. Please fix it or give me my money back!

I cant make my own levels and its boring.

Spent countless hours on this game. So addictive and challenging. I've missed my train stop a few times because I'm so focused on solving a puzzle

Z70%
by Z####:

Simple at its core. Most puzzles are just challenging enough to make them entertaining. After that expert mode allows you to really dig in and improve your solutions making them more effective.

Personally, Trainyard is my favorite game of all time on all mobile devices. It's a great logic puzzle game based around maneuvering with little track space... fantastic work Rix.

Hands down my favorite mobile game. Simple yet challenging puzzles, no in-app purchases, and bonus puzzles after you beat the game. Love this game and hope to see more levels soon!

As others have said, great game but can't replay as all level menus are now empty :(

Killer game! I absolutely love it! I hope the guy who made this kickass game, makes more! Job well done sir! Even if you do charge a few bucks for your next game, i'd buy it without hesitation!!

Excitingly addictive game. It's loads of fun, starting of easy and becomes challenging without being impossible. The developer must be a genius. Awesome game.

I saw a few other people also pointing this out, but like them I used to have this for iOS, which in that version there was a level editor. That game mode is regretfully nowhere to be seen in this Android version. This game would easily be worthy of 6 stars had this version also had the level editor mode.

Since updating to Marshmallow the game level menu is totally blank so I can't start the game any more. Support ran out of ideas five days ago at their one and only suggestion "uninstall and reinstall"

I purchased for my son's tablet, Nvidia Shield K1. It has the latest Android & it has an external SD card which works where Android utilizes to extend the internal storage so that they are seen as one. The app has no puzzles on my son's tablet. It works on my Nexus 6 which is all internal storage & it works on my Nvidia Shield 2014, where the entire app is installed on internal storage. I emailed the developer & it's been 2 days with no response. So now I'm going to contact Google to get a refund.

Amazing game, best puzzle brain-teaser game I've ever played. To complete the game and all the bonus puzzles took me roughly 20-30 hours, and I imagine most will never see the day where they complete all the bonus puzzles. Great work developers :)

K70%
by K####:

Trainyard is a great game for killing time and making you think. I felt that the difficulty progression was well paced, with new concepts added after the previous concept had sufficient repetition. While the early puzzles are easy enough to fly through, the puzzles towards the end of the game, as well as the bonus puzzles often required focused concentration (and sometimes scratch paper) in order to complete them. I would highly recommend this game.

Hard enough to be fun, not so hard that you throw your phone

Love this game. Addicted from the get-go. Would love to see more levels. Just the right amount of challenging without being "throw-your-phone" frustrating.

I don't typically write reviews, but this game deserves one! I stumbled onto Trainyard Express and loved it so much that I had to get Trainyard! I try not to buy games, but Trainyard is worth the money!!

K70%
by K####:

This is the best puzzle game I've ever played. Excellent for the logical/mathematical people out there. Learned lots of tricks and techniques while playing it and like in programming sometimes it works and I have no idea why. Other times I have to discover some trick. Incredible satisfaction when it works. Absolute masterpiece. Only downside is that lots of puzzles can be too easy, but I have yet to try the bonus puzzles.

K70%

Takes a while to get through the easy puzzles, some of the latter ones are incredibly satisfying to solve. Spacechem-esque. Some inevitable overlap with the free version, but many more puzzles. The bonus ones are amazing.

K70%

Always wanted to get this on the App Store but I don't think it's ever updated though.

R70%

Hands down my favourite mobile game of all time. Its challenging, intuative, beautiful and fun. Big ups to Matt Rix for developing this masterpiece.

This & the free ex version have been a lot of fun. Its a game that improves logical thinking, and i dont consider it a waste of time. Great job!

V70%
by V####:

Just buy it, don't bother with the express version, just get it and start using your brain! Difficult enough in the bonus levels to stretch the brightest boffins...

K70%
by K####:

I did; but then I'm an EE/CS who knows about parity, tree search, stepwise refinement, etc. Some hard puzzles! Too many trivials before the meat hits the table or 5 stars.

K70%
by K####:

It really makes you think outside of the box and think hard. But there all possible with many different ways to solve. There's only one that I could not solve, Cooksville Creek has bested me. Great game

K70%
by K####:

Are there Hints--especially for the levels where the trains cross?

K70%
by K####:

Totally worth paying for the full version because this is a great puzzle game. Challenging but never too difficult this is a thoroughly enjoyable addition to the genre.

K70%
by K####:

I own this on iOS as well as Droid. One of the best designed and polished games I've ever played. Kudos!

K70%
by K####:

Too many easy levels... And game over? Aaaaaah. Oh wait there's more! Bonus levels makes this game well worth the 5⭐

M70%
by M####:

Essentially the sort of puzzler that mobiles were made for! Loved it on the iPhone and despite the lack of level editor on Android this is still 5 star worthy.

Z70%

Playing this for the third time now. Very simple concept, but brilliant puzzles.

K70%
by K####:

Best puzzle game on mobile! I'm moving my rating down to 4 stars because the Android version doesn't support the super speed functionality. Without that, building super long tracks just isn't fun anymore.
