About Talisman: The Horus Heresy

"This reimagining of the classic Talisman gameplay in the Warhammer 40k universe is one of the most gorgeous digital board games I have ever seen." - Brad Cummings, Boardgamegeek.com

Talisman: The Horus Heresy is a digital board game based on the Talisman rule system and set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, during the cataclysmic events of the Horus Heresy.

Up to four players will be able to take control of one or more of the galaxy’s greatest heroes or most notorious villains. Taking the side of either traitor or loyalist, these Warlords will form vast companies of Space Marines, battalions of tanks and battlefleets of Spacecraft. They are the most powerful beings in the Galaxy and their followers are legion.

The new combative team play will appeal to fans of Talisman and the Horus Heresy alike. It’s a unique adaptation of Talisman that has been tailored specifically for digital platforms.

In Talisman: The Horus Heresy the player’s experience of Talisman is scaled up exponentially, exploring not a kingdom but a whole galaxy in the 31st Millennium. No longer will you be fighting for the Crown of Command, but for the very future of humanity…

- Command one of the eighteen Space Marine Legions that fought during the Horus Heresy
- Play as one of eight of the galaxy’s greatest heroes or most notorious villains such as Roboute Guilliman or Angron
- Multiplayer for up to 4 players
- Challenge or team-up with your friends locally and online
- Play against AI opponents

I was unimpressed with the title, specifically because it never worked. I played it for the first time for about 10 minutes and then it would never load up again, crashing time and time again. I would like a refund please.

However how I do I change my Google play store account to purchase DLC? It doesn't let me change :/

Bare bones Talisman knockoff. There adaptation of Talisman is much better.

Re-roll to close to travel, resulting in often pressing by mistake even with a pointer pen. This has caused more issues then anything else, so great game poor controls bring it down sadly.

by V####:

Good game, but several bugs. Magnus likes to destroy his teammates items with an incantation so don't play him as AI if he's on your team. At round 35 playing against Polux the ai could not decide what to ditch and was stuck in a loop the made that saved game unable to be completed. The RNG sure throws a ton of streaky numbers. Nothing like burning 80% of your fates on duplicate rerolls. The camera pans are endless and needless. Put in a skip button to bypass the character goals update after a game, watching minutes of progress bars filling after a game is annoying.

The dice roll seem to always favor the Ai. The game is fun and the developers have put heaps of effort into it. But it needs to be played on a tablet for a better experience and the tutorial is not very helpful.

Much better than their fantasy Talisman app, which is nearly unwinnable, especially if there is an evil NPC. However, it may be a little too easy, and I've had no issue winning multiple games in a row, by totally walking over the enemy and inner region fights. Besides that, a very fun game and time sink, worth the money. Keep on expanding this!

I've been playing Warhammer games for years and this definitely lives up to the high standards you would expect from games workshop. My only complaint is there is not enough background info to the game. 40k has a deep rich background story to it..it would be nice to see a bit of that background story told while playing the game.

Overall a fun game. However I've rerolled 25+ times and everytime I gives me the same result as before. So either I am unlucky or there is an issue with this ability. It's a major annoyance to an otherwise good game.

Love their Talisman game but this one has too many camera angle changes and too much zooming around. Let me set it at one zoom level. I don't like taking the long ride into the highest zoom level then all the way back out every single turn. It takes forever and it's nauseating. Also, along the same lines, don't make me zoom into each card to read the details. This more info stuff is irritating. Make it more like talisman and you've got a winner. The ui is just too abstract.

Another brilliant game. You guys are the only company that seems to do GW games justice. Please buy the rights to space crusade and hero quest before some horrible free to play company ruin those as well.

It can be cruel and unfair, the roll of the dice can leave you raging, but I would argue that this version of talisman is the definitive version. Excellent production values, artwork and theme. The game suits the Horus heresy excellently. A triumph.

I am a big fan of Nomad's Talisman DE. The Horus Heresy takes the best parts of that game and amps them to a new level, then introduces great new game mechanics. The graphics and UI updates are a big step forward as well. Also being a big fan of Warhammer 40k, I am loving the treatment of the setting. It has the same grim feel as the fiction. I would recommend this to any fan of Warhammer 40k, Talisman or strategy/RPG fans. I've bought all of the expansions for Talisman DE and have already bought the two hero supplements available for T:THH. Based on Nomad's execution of the original game I expect to keep getting quality content add-ons for T:THH in the future. It's a great game now and I expect it will only continue to get better.

I love Talisman and this is a brilliant alternative to the standard fantasy board. If you enjoy WH40K you will find the theme and lore hear excellently implemented. To be clearer this is set in the Heresy period but retains all we know and love about the Space Marines, there is just a lot more of them. Well worth a buy for any fan of either Talisman or WH40K

This is an excellent adaptation of the classic game, it plays out very well. As a 30k and 40k fan, I really enjoy the inclusion of the characters and fluff.

Meh. i LOVE Talisman (i own complete physical sets in both English and German, and have spent hundreds of hours in the Digital Edition). i never could get into 40k (tried several times, but simply never "felt it"). This rendition of Talisman seems to require that the player be a fan of both Talisman and 40k. The wireframe/Tron-like graphics immediately jump out as a poor substitute for the original characters and board (despite the same board layout). The Horus characters, due to the chosen graphics theme, all look the same to me, as does every single space on the board - it's just one big wireframe mesh, which is completely at odds with 40k's long tradition of a strong (and bloody) graphical style. Yeah, it's got a "distinct style," but... meh. i don't see myself getting excited about this in any way. Just not feeling it. Maybe if it wasn't called _Talisman_, i could see fit to give it 3 stars. Some reviewers are calling the Horus edition's graphics an "update" over classical Talisman. i _strongly_ beg to differ!

Been playing this since it was released on Steam and now have it on mobile, which is identical to the PC version. Tons of depth, gameplay is different to regular Talisman, not just in wargear, events and map design but also in that it is loyalist vs traitors, unlike the free for all of regular Talisman you can help out other players and getting to the centre of the board feels epic knowing you will come face to face with Horus or the Emperor. Heroes can earn upgrades the more experience you gain for them. What is not to like? Do you not want the Heresy conflict in your pocket? Do you not want to slay The Warmaster or The Emperor from the comfort of your toilet seat/bus seat/office desk? Come on!

Great digital board game. If you are a Warhammer fan then this is for you! Take control of Warlords from the Horus Heresy and race to the Vengeful Spirit to play a vital part in the war. Great graphics which really show off the latest phones.
