They want to protect but yet when laws come in place a cop cannot let it slip because he or she oathed to commitment to protect and serve. Like a soldier, war is different but they share the same goal. A cop just does it's job, they do good, laws only came because stupid people went out and did what stupid does and so the LAWS came in to enforce those who do the same thing.
