Origins of the Zombie

Within the tradition and Haitian voodoo oral tradition the concept of " zombie " has been of great importance when considering the way in which this concept is involved in the representation of the body , soul and otherness in the imaginary haitiano.5

The types of zombies, dual soul

Within the voodoo religion , present the concept of dual soul and is closely linked with the figure of zombi.4 There are at least two types of soul according to this tradition: the Gros Bon Ange ( great good angel ) and Ti Bon ange ( little good angel ) .
