Arcane Quest Ultimate Edition for Android
Game is fun and has replay value. The shared community makes it great with other people's maps to try. It's restrictive to only have a single armour piece, unfortunately. Being able to expand the characters equipment and skills will make it fun for later updates. There was a small learning curve. It seemed simplistic and laggy at first and it lacks good explanation and proper tutorial. But when you learn how to buff/heal your team and use movement, it gets really good. Ready for more maps, longer scenarios.
I love this game. It is so well done and is so close to feeling like a real dice rolling turn based RPG. It's well done top to bottom and worth whatever the developers ask. If you like pen & paper games try the free version, you'll probably end up buying it.
I am wondering who programmed the combat algerythym for this game. Were they masters of hand to hand and weapons fighting or were they a bunch of math specialists that only theorize what close combat is? The real physics of close combat is more dynamic than what this algerythym portrays. Wasted my money here too.
An Android version of Heroquest, basically, and a lot of fun. The interface is a bit clunky and limited, but you bet it scratches that fantasy turn-based dungeon plunge itch.
I like games like Descent when it comes to tabletop but having moved out of state i dont get to play anymore. This has helped to fill that vaccuum.
Takes me back to my childhood years when I spent hours playing the original board game. After playing the free game for one dungeon I downloaded not only the ultimate edition but also the other Arcane Quest games. Keep up the amazing work guys.
Brings the RPG board games feelings in a very charming way. It's a simple game and easy to play with nice online gameplay that rounds up a nice party. I just miss organization and more options to see your party better, like available spells. Some different colors could make even better, but I love as it is. And bring more adventures, because replay value would go up higher than it is right now.
Amazing game. I went through every level, every mission from beginning to end. I used the warrior, the high elf, the ranger and the cleric. Sad to see it end but it's time to move on to Arcane Quest 2.
It's basically a variation of the old MB game, Hero Quest, but the best of the genre. Other HQ copycats are not as good as this.
Cons: 1) rolling dice for movement 2) no bows. A Ranger without a bow? LOL! 3) too many empty chests 4) cannot sell magic items. 5) must tap each square to move. C'mon. When done with the level, it takes 5min to move your characters to the exit. 6) as another said, the minion AI is dumb. Pros:
I originally downloaded it from aptoide I think it was? to give it a try, coz hey nobody likes ads and everyone loves FREE right! but anyway, every time I opened it, it did a license check so I had to open the free version to get that version to play, which was ok at first but it got annoying very quickly, so after my initial assessment playing it without ads I found I liked it so I uninstalled it and bought this version. So if you like the free version then 83p for this is nothing for a good game.
Keeps saying game destroyed and kicks me out and I have to keep exiting and saving every couple of moves so I don't have to go back to far please fix, I just purchased the ultimate edition and it didn't fix anything
Much closer to the original Hero Quest game than it used to be. Spells now pretty much match the original. But with several extra character classes, equipment, and heroic character abilities, and player created content, this game sits just enough apart from the classic board game so as to be its own game.
I used to play Heroquest when I was a kid. I've looked everywhere to find it but they don't make that board game anymore. This is the perfect replica! Thanks for bringing Heroquest back to life!
Simple and straightforward dungeon crawl. Not complicated. Good for times when I have 10 or 15 minutes I want to kill.
i enjoy the theme and look/feel, but having to roll dice to see how far each PC can move each turn brings play to a crawl and simply doesn't make any sense to me. That one (major) detail makes it unplayable for me. Part 2 of the series fixes that.
Graphics and playability are nice. As you progress it won't let you go back and grind levels. Things I would change; 1 the shop, the costs are high compared to D&D standards (short sword is $700! Normally $25 and you gain gold slowly). 2 the shop needs more items: wooden buckler, leather armor, cap, gloves and boots, then chain scaled, plate and so on. 3 I prefer to have a choice on spells rather than just finding out in combat. 4 I liked the narratives that detail the adventure as you go to draw you in?

Loved HeroQuest as a kid, this is a great copy of it. The only this is as kids we would let heroes move at will til a monster was spotted then roll to move. Also LOS is a bit wonky. Overall great game!

Easy, addictive and fun. Was lots of fun play the board game as a kid. Now exactly what I was looking for on Android. Game play is lacking in playability. Slow processing and seems too basic. Will definitely try the next edition.

At first this game was fun but now I am mad. The game deleted all of my saved games and I am not going to backtrack to the point I am at and since I've had this game for a few days, I'm not able to get a refund... awesome......

This is a game for those who have fond memories of playing similar boardgames in their youth. For those with a deprived childhood, do yourself a favour and get this app.
Enjoyed the game. Two tiny improvements would make it even better. Diagonal attacks are supposed to work through doorways, and a little more clarity on what equipment works with each other would have been nice. Still loved the game. Thanks.
Great fun, but no end boss in Dark Tower, and minion AI is a nightmare. Also hangs and needs to be restarted fairly often. And fire ring only works on Assassin. Be nice to know if that's what's intended.
The dice role should be a bit faster though. Its kinda lame watching the animation so slow.
For the price point, you can't do much better. For those familiar with Hero Quest, it plays extremely similar.
I own all the Hero's Quest and the challenges in this were great. I can't wait for the next edition.
It's Just like a board game witch is pretty cool a must own game if you like games like that
Had the board game as a kid. Well reproduced. Kills time just like I wanted it to.
Uesd to play this years ago just found it again. Still awesome, in fact just got the other two in the series, goodbye free time!
Heros quest good old board game
Play the game. =) Can't select a hero. When tapping on any it just goes to previous menu with no changes. Nvidia Shield. Thank you.
I had an old board game which my friends and I played a lot. This is a great interpretation of that game with some great additional characters.
Now it fails license check!
Nice digital version of a well known old MB games fantasy game, could do with online group games :)
Brings back old memories and certainly much easier to play than hero's quest through an emulator. Thanks developers I have enjoyed playing your game nearly as much as the original! Movement could be easier showing all spaces possible to move into rather than square by square. Some animations don't look too smooth but overall I'm happy enough to still enjoy the game. Also could save and google achievements to put the icing on the cake to bring this old style game right up to date ;)
