Dragon's Blade for Android
This game takes me back to my early RPG days. There are people on here saying it's almost copyright infringement on older ff games... Well, aren't almost all RPGs spinoffs of original ff games? This one is in a class all it's own. I love it and recommend it to any seasoned and hardcore RPG gamers.
It is a good game, and its free. Thats a big plus! My problem though is that when I explore the game, monsters kept on appearing without rest. Maybe I got used to the FF games but this made me annoyed. Having to fight a large group of monsters and defeat them, only to fight them again 5 seconds later. Other than that, its a great game!
I love this game because it reminds me of the older FF games. I will say that I personally do not mind grinding levels with the exp reset, I wouldn't doubt that this may be a turn off for newer players. I would suggest adding an "easier" mode where your exp doesn't reset after each level up. I can't wait to actually delve deeply into this game and thank you for this experience.
Love it! An excellent rendition of the classics. Would add customizable perameters to the auto fight and adjust the movement mechanic to automatically circumvent trees or walls when you are walking along a path and the path shifts one space. Also I would redo the the directional arrows, they are spaced awkwardly.
I love it ! I use to play this game on Windows phone ,stop becuase phone broke ,end up buying a Android phone, glad Nate brought us the game. will support this game a
I'm 48 years old and this game really takes me back to the old regular Nintendo days, you would have got more stars but 5 was all I could give, sorry....OH! Please make more games like this, and I love how you fixed the adds buff, very very smart I don't mind the adds now lol
I have seven individual characters all classes lvl 19 to lvl 24. Crushed the western sky tower and about to snuff the boss in the second tower. I had to work for it and its been a pleasure so far. The music is cool. I like that there's bass in it. I would like to be able to adjust the sound fx volume and not simply toggle it on and off as the sfx can be taxing on the ears while using headphones :(. Other than that as a well seasoned rpg gamer, I think Dragon's Blade is a first rate rpg and my favorite mobile game so far. Hope there are more to come.
Don't be fooled by the rpgmaker appearance. This developer seems to understand the concept of balance, progression, and reward that most developers lack. The game is grindy for sure, but your characters grow stronger in meaningful and noticeable ways. When I give my Thief a new weapon or a strength ring, the damage boost is immediately noticeable. My favourite feature of the game is the autobuff system, which is what I've been saying Final Fantasy 12 could benefit from for over a decade. The entire buff and debuff cycle outside of battle is brilliant, but autobuffing is a game changer. Take notes Square Enix. Indie developers have become more innovative while you've been on your high horse.
If you like all the old school ff's this is the game for you! A ton of grinding is to be done. I love this game so far and I'm only at the second town. Definently not pay to play and its definitely not grind so much that you say screw this. It's reasonable. Great game keep it up maker's thanks for a new story.
Been searching for a game like this. Trully a game worthy of praise. Just needs a little tweek on autoattack. It seems buggy sometimes when u set the comands and when you hit autoattack the next round they sometimes never use the previos skill. But overall i really appreciate the game. I need to hit that jackpot at the casino though.
Loved this game back on Windows Phone. I was really sad to see that Android didn't have this game. Now that it is here I have two questions. Do you play to incorporate multiplayer? And do you plan to port the second game?
Definitely one of the better RPG here in the playstore. The battle flow is fast enough that it's actually addicting rather than boring. Not to mention the pacing is good enough and the 'boost' system is really generous. Bring on the updates, dev!
Love this game! Only concern is you can't quick save during battle if i have to put phone down. Ended up losing whole dungeon worth of progress. Also dpad feels almost transparent.
Hi Nate! Im a fan of this game back when it was popular on the windows phone. Im so glad that i can play it again after a long time. I was wondering though, will there be an online mode incorporated into this one as well? I think that's one of the most redeeming features of this game.
Awesome RPG so far. Very nostalgic, very fun! I love the music, sound effects, graphics, and exploration elements. The only negatives are that the menus are clunky and awkward (which I can forgive), and it took me a while to figure out that Auto Battle really means to repeat the last actions.
Great game! But i have some issues. The dpad is hard to control since the arrow is too far from each other. There are no place to save other than in the INN. Please consider these. Tq :)
I love this game to death, as well as the others you have made. Since the windows phone was horrible however, I didnt get to play it for a long time, and seeing it on here has made me very happy. My only wish is that you unlock the screen to allow playing it with the bottom facing the right or the left, instead of it being forced on the right. For S7 users it is that way at least, thank you very much for putting this on the app store, and if you fix the problem I have with it, thank you in advance
So far so good. Not like other questing games I've played and very much thankful for less dialogue. A great alternative. Helps to lower my stress level
Its great but wasnt this an online game with events and stuff. I use to play it all the time. But the phone i was using broke. This is a great game but it dosent feel the same when i dont see hundreds of sprites running around.
This is the phone game I've been looking for! Old school, good gameplay, not buggy. Quests and story. Good equipment system and combat. They don't overdo it, they do it just right! Thanks!
Amazing old school rpg with neat pixel art... and it's also completely free, without ads! Haven't seen this combination in years, 5/5, a masterpiece. Thank you for making such an amazing game!
As a huge fan of classic JRPGs (grew up on final fantasy 1), this game is amazing, and after looking at the map and realizing how big the world is, I don't think I will let this one go. A couple little bugs, nothing game-breaking though. The furious troll has a sprite that is part slime and part beetle, and when attacking, sometimes my guys will go to each other's side and attack instead of to the enemy. Nothing bad, just a little confusing. Great game overall, will keep playing.
I Love This Game. But I Love The Dragons Blade 2. Can You Add To The Playstore. Because My Windows Phone Already Broken. Thats Why I Cannot Play The Dragons Blade 2 So Please Make The Dragons Blade 2 to The Play store. Thank You.
Pretty awesome! Love the classes and spells and the overall look. Menus are a mess and I have to click way too many things to cast a spell though. Auto combat keeps changing too. Not bad though.
i really love it even its kinda hard to level up and i really like this kind of rpg game.. uhm btw i had a question i saw a man in 3 different caves but i dont know yet in other caves am still in half of the game, he looks like a thief, is that a bug or what?
Enjoy the game but auto battle is not working the way it is supposed to. All characters use default attack regardless of what type of attack previously used
Amazing rpg game. Feels very retro. This game does take time to grind your characters a few levels before taking on new enemies, otherwise it is a great time killer.
Love the game. Would be 5 star if the wizards would hold their spells during auto fights instead of melee fighting. They did for a while but never do anymore.
Love the game about half way through. Its challenging but now it crashes after I fight a battle and I can't play it anymore:/
Almost a rip-off. I know why your giving it away for free. It so close to copyright enfringement you would get sued if you sold it. It's so close to being a Final Fantasy NES and Gameboy game it's not funny. It is also a lot like the original Phantasy Star for Sega Genesis.
It's a good game but I have a few problems such as the furious sprites being only the glob and no screen to see when they unlock passive abilities at certain levels.
Would like autobuff to renew expired regen-type buffs if caster has full mp. Auto fight doesn't repeat 'defend' command? Dungeons in non-3D show how much empty space there is to walk across, maybe why the encounter rate feels high? Classes that aren't tank or mage feel pointless, or a long term gamble hoping for great gear. Sorting within a type (eg spellbooks) would help too. Repeated tiers of x spell i-iii felt more unwieldy than interesting.
I'm glad to see a classic final fantasy style turnbased rpg by someone other than Kemco. With that being said, if a Kemco game gets a 10... this game gets a 6or7. The mechanics are what they should be - 4player party, distinct classes, an overworld, towns, fetch quests, etcetera. But the visuals are not to my liking and the onscreen controls are bulky. The sheer generosity of a game without Ads is always a big plus and starting the game with a full 7 party members (4 in use, 3 on standby) gives the game a nice quickstart friendly attitude. Dragons Blade definitely scratches that final fantasy itch... but at this point Kemco is just better. Of course, that probably has alot to do with how long they've been doing it. Hopefully this developer will keep pushing forward so we'll all have some much-needed Turnbased variety.
I have a major issue with what so far seems like a great game. I cannot approach the boss in the temporary dungeon in the first village from any side either it is quite frustrating going to play further to see if issue persists in other locations, I hope not because I'd quite enjoy playing it through but that's a deal breaker obviously
It's a classic rpg style game with no micro transactions and no intrusive ads. I wish more games in the app store were like this.
How is this game free? It's excellent, game play and graphics, actually really work brilliantly. It's got no forced ads and it doesn't expect anything from you. It's just fun to play and more power to the Dev coz it's a great game!
much deeper than most mobile RPGs with it's spell system and character customization. very fun battles and a lot of freedom as to where and when to go to places.
Mate I truly thank you for bringing this work of art to android. I used to play years ago when it was on Windows. I have been awaiting this day to come. If there a way we would offer support let us know. Looking forward to updates, especially creating guilds. I think that's what I loved about it most. Playing with people from all over. You Nate are a true artist.
Really happy that someone decided to bring this classic here on the play store, say Nate have you ever heard of the game Bye Bye Brain: Appocalypse also for windows by any chance? if its possible I would tremendously love to see that one here in the future as well

Free, no forced ads, no microtransactions. This is a work of art. So much effort put into something that's been made freely available to the whole word, and not a dime asked in return. Mr. Nate has done a fantastic job with this, and I hope he is able to endeavor to make more games. Haven't checked yet, but I'd like to see if he's made any sci-fi games. Sci fi is my jam, yo! Lol, seriously though, download this game now, there's no good reason not to.
